Apply this bulletin while performing
routine service or to avoid intermittent
F86 / F87 error codes.
Symptom:
F86 / F87 failure codes or in some instances, F81 F82 failure codes appear on the display after the oven has been used for an extended period of time.

Cause:
When foods with high moisture content are heated in the oven, steam escaping through a small opening between the exhaust duct and cavity (fig. 1 & 2) settles on the bottom (foil) side of the DP board (fig.3). This causes the formation of a conductive white residue especially in the area of connector CN9.

Procedure:
1. Remove and inspect the foil side of the DP (Digital Programmer) board for evidence of residue.
2. Important: If there is evidence of residue, clean the affected area with a stiff bristle brush (toothbrush or equivalent) until all traces of residue are removed.
3. Re-install the DP board and re-attach connectors.
4. Apply a small bead of General Electric Sealant IS802 to the area indicated in Fig. 4 below. Verify that the small gap (space) is completely sealed.
o The silicone sealer is available in a 2.8 fl. Oz. tube and may be ordered directly from
