Electrical Requirement

FOR YOUR SAFETY PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING TEXT CAREFULLY.
This appliance is supplied with a moulded three pin mains plug for your safety and convenience. A 13­amp fuse is fitted in this plug. Should the fuse need to be replaced please ensure that the replacement fuse has a rating of 13-amp and that it is approved by ASTA or BSI to BS1362. Check for the ASTA mark
or the BSI mark on the body of the fuse. If the plug contains a removable fuse cover, you must ensure that it is refitted when the fuse is replaced. If you lose the fuse cover, the plug must not be used until a replacement cover is obtained. A replacement fuse cover can be purchased from your local Panasonic Dealer. If the fitted moulded plug is unsuitable for the socket outlet in your home, then the fuse should be removed and the plug cut off and disposed of safely. There is a danger of severe electrical shock if the cut off plug is inserted into any 13-amp socket.

How to replace the fuse
The location of the fuse differs according to the type of AC mains plug (figures A and B). Confirm the AC mains plug fitted and follow the instructions below. Illustrations may differ from actual AC mains plug. Open the fuse cover with a screwdriver and replace the fuse and close or attach the fuse cover.

Do not subject the body or power base to strong
impacts by dropping, hitting etc. (It may cause malfunction or damage.) Do not move the body or power base by dragging.

Empty-use prevention function
When the power switch is on without water, an empty-use prevention function works to automatically turn off the power in order to prevent accidents and malfunction due to overheating.

Clean the appliance after every use.Before cleaning, unplug the mains plug, pour away the hot water, and cool the body.
Do not use soap. (This may cause a residual odour.) Do not use benzine, thinner, alcohol, bleach, polishing powder, metal brush or nylon brush, otherwise the surface will be damaged. Do not wash in a dishwasher.
How to Clean

(Outside) Wipe with a well-wrung cloth.
(Inside) Rub with a soft sponge and rinse.
Scale build-up
Minerals such as calcium carbonate contained in the water build up in the kettle.

Please remove the scale. Remove it regularly using a suitable scale remover. Follow the instructions supplied with the scale remover. After removal, repeat the following steps a few times: fill with water, boil, pour away.

Wash carefully using a brush etc.
If the spout is blocked by scale, hot water will pour less easily. After cleaning, always attach it to the
body.
How to detach
Push the filter towards to the spout and pull it upwards.

Align with the groove on the spout and press it firmly.

Wipe with a well-wrung cloth.

Wipe with a well-wrung cloth.
To store
Dry thoroughly. Seal in a plastic bag to prevent insects etc. from entering.

Water is dripping from the bottom of the body.
Since the kettle is designed to sense steam and turn off q the power switch, the steam can condense and drip from the bottom of the body as water droplets. This is not malfunction.

The hot water has a strange smell.
Depending on the amount of chloride contained in the q water supply, there may be a residual chalky smell.
