Connecting a Communication Device

If you connect a communication device (computer, modem, fax,
answering machine, etc.) to the telephone line, you can connect it through
this unit using the DATA jack.

After connecting the handset and telephone line cord (see above),
connect the communication device telephone line cord to the DATA jack.

≥Make sure the communication device is not in use before using this unit (making

calls, storing phone numbers in memory etc.) or the communication device may
not operate properly.

Wall Mounting

This unit can be mounted on a wall.

To temporarily set the handset down
during a conversation, place it as
shown here.

Pull down the handset hook until it locks,
so the tab holds the handset.

Tuck the telephone line cord inside
the wall mounting adaptor, and
push it in the direction of the arrow.

≥“UP” should be facing upward.

Install screws using the wall
template below. Connect the
telephone line cord. Mount the
unit, and slide down.

While a call is being received, the unit rings and the ringer indicator
flashes.

Speed Dialer

Storing Phone Numbers in Memory

You can store up to 10 phone numbers in the memory stations. The
dialing buttons ((0) to (9)) function as memory station numbers. Do not
press any memory stations before storing to prevent misoperation.

Special Features

RECALL Button

Pressing (R) allows you to use special features of your host PBX such as
transferring an extension call or accessing special telephone services
(optional) such as call waiting.

How to Use the PAUSE Button

(For Analog PBX Line/Long Distance Service Users)

We recommend you press if a pause is required for dialing with a
PBX or to access a long distance service.

≥Pressing once creates a few seconds pause.

This prevents misdialing when you redial or dial a stored number.

≥Pressing more than once increases the length of the pause between

numbers.

Before Requesting Help

Problem

The unit does not work.

The unit does not ring.

You cannot store a phone
number in memory.

Remedy

≥Check the settings (p. 4–5).

≥The RINGER selector is set to OFF.

Set to HIGH or LOW (p. 7).

≥Confirm the handset is off the cradle.
≥Do not enter a phone number more

than 16 digits long.

Safety Instructions

Take special care to follow the safety suggestions listed below.

Installations
Environment

1) Do not use this unit near water—for example, near a bathtub,
washbowl, sink, etc. Damp basements should also be avoided.

2) The unit should be kept away from heat sources such as radiators,
kitchen range, etc. It also should not be placed in rooms where the
temperature is less than 5oC or greater than 40oC.

Placement

1) Do not place heavy objects on top of this unit.

2) Care should be taken so that objects do not fall onto, and liquids are
not spilled into, the unit. Do not subject this unit to excessive smoke,
dust, mechanical vibration, or shock.

3) Place the unit on a flat surface.

Lightning surge

This unit has already been equipped with a built-in lightning protection
circuit. However, we recommend that you install lightning protection on
the telephone line, if your area has a high incidence of lightning strikes.

To install the above option, please contact your local sales shop.
≥Lightning damage is not covered in the warranty even if lightning

protection is installed.

WARNING:

TO PREVENT FIRE OR SHOCK HAZARD, DO NOT EXPOSE THIS
PRODUCT TO RAIN OR ANY TYPE OF MOISTURE.

If there is any trouble, disconnect the unit from the telephone line and
connect a known working phone. If the known working phone operates
properly, do not reconnect the unit to the telephone line until the trouble
has been repaired. If the known working phone does not operate properly,
consult your telephone company.

Sie können direkt am Apparat ein analoges Zusatzgerät (Computer,
Modem, Fax, Beantworter, usw.) am DATA Port anschliessen.
(Internationale Belegung des Steckers -> Mitte).

Nach dem Anschluss an die Telefonleitung (siehe oben), stecken Sie Ihr
Gerät am DATA Port ein.

≥Bevor Sie Ihr Zusatzgerät verwenden, stellen Sie sicher, dass der Apparat nicht

verwendet wird (Gespräche, Nummern speichern usw.). Ansonsten funktioniert
Ihr Zusatzgerät nicht.

Das Telefon kann auch an die Wand montiert werden.

ablegen.

Drehen Sie die Hörerhalterung, somit
kann der Hörer nicht herunterfallen.

Verlegen Sie die Kabel in der
Wandhalterung und stecken Sie
diese in der Pfeilrichtung in den
Apparat.

Montieren Sie die Schrauben mit
Hilfe der untenstehenden

Kabel an und hängen Sie das

RÜCKFRAGE-Taste

Für den Zugriff auf Funktionen Ihrer Telefonanlage wie die Rückfrage,
können Sie die (R) Taste verwenden.

Wie Sie benutzen

(bei Anschluss an einer analogen Telefonanlage/zur Wahl
externer Verbindungen)

Wir empfehlen, zu drücken, wenn beim Wählen über eine
Telefonzentrale oder beim Zugang zu einem Ferngesprächsnetz das
Einschalten einer Pause nötig ist.

Sicherheits-und Aufstellhinweise

Bitte achten Sie ganz besonders auf die Einhaltung der folgenden
Sicherheitshinweise.

Aufstellungsbedingungen

≥Keine Gegenstände auf das Telefon legen.

Wasser und Feuchtigkeit: Benutzen Sie das Telefon nicht in feuchter
Umgebung, z.B. in der Nähe von Badewannen, Wasch- oder Spülbecken, etc.
Auch in einem feuchten Keller sollten Sie es möglichst nicht benutzen.
Wärme: Das Telefon sollte nicht in der Nähe von Wärmequellen wie Heizkörpern,
Herden etc. aufgestellt werden. Auch in Räumen, in denen eine Temperatur von
weniger als 5° Celsius oder mehr als 40° Celsius herrschen, sollte es nicht
installiert werden.
Einwirkung elektromagnetischer Felder: Elektrische Geräte wie z.B.
Kühlschränke TV- und Radiogeräte erzeugen elektromagnetische Felder. Diese
können Interferenzen und Nebengeräusche verursachen. Stellen Sie deshalb das
Telefon nicht in der Nähe solcher Geräte auf.
Fremdkörper: Achten Sie darauf, dass keine Gegenstände oder Flüssigkeiten in
das Telefon gelangen. Setzen Sie es zudem nicht übermäßigem Staub,
Erschütterungen und unmittelbarer Sonneneinstrahlung aus.
Reinigung: Verwenden Sie auf keinen Fall Benzin, Verdünnung oder andere
Lösungsmittel, um das Gehäuse zu reinigen. Wischen Sie es nur mit einem
weichen Tuch ab. Wenn Sie das Telefon auf neuen oder mit Lackpflegemittel
aufgefrischten Holz- oder Kunststoffmöbeln aufstellen wollen, ist nicht völlig
ausgeschlossen, dass die Pflegemittel die Kunststoff-Füße des Gerätes angreifen.
Diese können auf den Möbeln eventuell Spuren hinterlassen. Wir empfehlen
daher eine rutschfeste Unterlage zu verwenden.

Überspannung/Gewitter

Das Komfort-Telefon ist serienmäßig mit einer Überspannungsschutzschaltung
ausgerüstet.
Sollte es in Ihrer Region jedoch häufiger zu Gewittern kommen, empfehlen wir
den Telefonanschluss durch zusätzliche Maßnahmen zu schüzen.
Bitte wenden Sie sich bezüglich der Installation an Ihren Panasonic Fachhändler.
≥Für Beschädigungen durch Blitzschläge kann selbst mit Einbau der erwähnten

Sicherheitsmaßnahmen keine Haftung übernommen werden.

Fehlerbeseitigung:

Bei Störungen das Gerät von der Telefonleitung trennen, und dann mit Hilfe eines
anderen funktionstüchtigen Telefons den Anschluss überprüfen. Wenn die
Telefonleitung in Ordnung ist, lassen Sie Ihr defektes Gerät reparieren. Sollte die

Connexion d’un équipement analogique additionnel

Si vous désirez connecter un équipement de communication
supplémentaire (computer, modem, fax, répondeur automatique, etc.) à la
ligne téléphonique, vous pouvez le raccorder à travers cet appareil en
utilisant le connecteur de données.

Après avoir raccordé le combiné et le téléphone (voir en haut), raccordez
l’appareil supplémentaire au port DATA.

≥Vérifiez que l’équipement de communication n’est pas utilisé avant d’employer

cet appareil (appel en cours, enregistrement de numéros en mémoire, etc.) ou
que celui-ci fonctionne convenablement.

Pour déposer temporairement le
combiné au cours d’une conversation,
placez-le comme indiqué sur la figure

Fonctions spéciales

Touche de rétrodemande

La touche (R) (rétrodemande) est utilisée pour accéder à certains services
spéciaux (optionnels) tels que la mise en attente des appels, etc.

Comment utiliser la touche pause

(Pour accéder à un service longue distance)

Nous vous recommandons de presser la touche si un délai est requis
lors de la composition sur un central téléphonique (ACU) ou pour accéder
à un service longue distance.

Consignes de sécurité

Faites particulièrement attention aux consignes de sécurité indiquées
ci-dessous.

Installation
Environnement

1) N’utilisez pas cet appareil dans un environnement humide, par

exemple à proximité de baignoires, de lavabos, d’éviers, etc. Evitez de
l’utiliser dans des sous-sols humides.

2) Eloignez l’appareil de toute source de chaleur telle que radiateurs,

fourneaux, etc. Ne pas le placer non plus dans un endroit où la
température est inférieure à 5oC ou supérieure à 40oC.

Emplacement

1) Ne posez aucun objet lourd sur l’appareil.

2) Veillez à ce qu’aucun objet tombe sur l’appareil et qu’aucun liquide n’y

pénètre. Evitez que l’appareil soit excessivement exposé à la fumée, à
la poussière, à des vibrations mécaniques ou à des chocs.

3) Placez cet appareil sur une surface plane.

Surtension, coup de foudre

Cette installation est équipée d’une protection contre les surtensions.
Cependant, si votre région est soumise à de nombreux orages, nous vous
recommandons d’installer sur votre ligne téléphonique une protection
additionnelle contre les surtensions.

Pour la mise en place de cette option, contactez votre revendeur
spécialisé.

≥Aucune responsabilité ne peut être assumée pour des dégâts dus à la

foudre, même lorsque la protection contre les surtensions a été
installée.
