KX-A116EXS is the optional handset for the ISDN digital cordless phone
KX-TCD706. This installation manual only describes the steps necessary to
start up the handset. Please read each model’s Operating Instructions for
further details of functions.

Installing the Batteries in the Handset

Install the batteries as shown. Then install the handset cover. (See the
picture .)

Connecting the AC Adaptor to the Charger

(See the picture .)

USE ONLY WITH Panasonic AC ADAPTOR KX-TCA1CE.

•

The AC adaptor must remain connected at all times. (It is normal for the adaptor to
feel warm during use.)

Battery Charge

At the time of shipment, the batteries are not charged. To charge, place the
handset on the charger. (See the picture -1.) Please charge the batteries
for about

15 hours before initial use.

•

During charging the batteries, the battery icon is as shown. (See the picture -2.)

Using the Belt Clip

You can hang the handset on your belt or pocket using the belt clip.
(See the picture -1: To attach the belt clip/ -2: To remove the belt clip.)

Carregar a Bateria

As baterias não vêm carregadas de origem. Para carregar, coloque o
terminal móvel na carregador. (Observe a figura -1) Carregue durante 15
horas antes da primeira utilização.

Durante o carregamento da bateria a luz do terminal permanece acesa. (Observe
figura -2)

Montagem do Gancho no Terminal Móvel

Pode pendurar o Terminal Móvel no seu cinto ou no bolso com o gancho.
(Observe a figura -1: Para fixar o clip para cinto/ -2: Para retirar o clip
para cinto)

Operating More than One Base Unit

You can register and operate your handset at up to 4 base units.
Since each base unit forms a radio cell, you can extend the range or area in
which you can make/answer calls with the same handset by placing the
base units in suitable locations. For example, you can use a handset in
different radio areas, such as at home or the office. However, calls in
progress are canceled when the unit moves to another radio area.

Selecting the Display Language

The factory preset is English. You can choose one of 14 display languages.
Please refer to the page 18 of KX-TCD706 Operating Instructions.

Registering Optional Handset(s)

Registration is necessary for optional handset(s). You can register up to 8
handsets at the base unit. (See the picture .)
The included handset is pre-registered at the factory and assigned the
handset number 1. The handset number is used as the station number. Only
one handset can be registered at a time.

Make sure that the power is ON and the unit is in the standby mode.
Registration must be completed within 1 minute.

1 Base unit where handset is to be registered:

Press and hold on the base unit for more than 10 seconds
until a confirmation tone sounds.

7 Enter the 4-digit base unit PIN.

” is displayed, then a beep sounds.

•

The handset will return to the standby mode. The current connected base unit number will
be displayed.

•

You can exit the programming mode any time by pressing .

•

To register the handset in more than one base unit, repeat from step 1 with the other
base unit(s).

Canceling a Handset

Each handset can cancel itself or another handset.

Registar Terminais Móveis Opcionais

É necessário registar terminais móveis opcionais. Pode registar até 8
terminais móveis na unidade de base. (Observe a figura )
O terminal móvel incluído vem pré-registado de fábrica e tem atribuído o
número de terminal móvel 1. O número de terminal móvel é usado como
número de estação. Apenas pode ser registado um terminal móvel de cada vez.

Certifique-se de que o telefone está ligado (ON) e de que a unidade
está em modo standby. O registo deverá estar concluído dentro de 1
minuto.

Operar Mais de Uma Unidade de base

Pode registar e operar o seu terminal móvel num máximo de 4 unidades de base.
Dado que cada unidade de base forma uma célula de rádio, pode alargar o seu
raio de acção para atender/efectuar chamadas com o mesmo terminal móvel,
colocando as unidade de base em locais adequados. Por exemplo, pode utilizar
um terminal móvel em diferentes áreas de rádio, como em casa ou no escritório.
No entanto, as chamadas em curso são canceladas quando a unidade se desloca
para outra área de rádio.

6 Prima ou para seleccionar o número de unidade de base

terminal móvel.

Batterij opladen

Op het ogenblik dat u het toestel koopt, zijn de batterijen niet opgeladen.
Plaats de handset op de lader en laadt de batterijen op. (Afbeelding -1)
Bij ingebruikname moet u de batterijen ongeveer 15 uur opladen.

Riemclip gebruiken

Met de riemclip kunt u het toestel aan uw riem of zak hangen. (Afbeelding

Using an Optional Headset

Plugging an optional headset into the handset allows a hands-free phone
conversation. Please use only the Panasonic KX-TCA89EX headset.

Connecting the headset to the handset

Open the headset jack cover, and connect the headset to the headset jack
as shown. (See the picture .)

Wall Mounting

The charger can be wall mounted.
Install screws using the wall template. (See the picture .)
Connect the AC adaptor. Mount the charger, then slide it down. (See the
picture .)

Carica delle batterie

Al momento della spedizione, le batterie non sono cariche. Per caricarle,
posizionare il portatile sull’carica batteria. (Vedere figura -1.) Si
raccomanda di caricare le batterie per circa 15 ore prima dell’uso iniziale.

Installazione del gancio per la cintura

Se necessario, è possibile installare il gancio per la cintura, che consente
di appendere il portatile alla cintura o a una tasca.

Utilizar um Auricular opcional

Se ligar um auricular adicional ao terminal móvel poderá ter uma
conversação no modo mãos-livres. Utilizar apenas o auricular Panasonic
KX-TCA89EX.

Ligar o auricular ao terminal móvel

Retire a tampa da ficha de ligação do auricular e ligue o auricular à ficha,
conforme indicado. (Observe a figura )

Instalar na parede

O carregador pode ser colocado na parede.
Coloque os parafusos na parede. (Observe figura )
Ligue o transformador e instale-o. (Observe figura )
