Be careful about where you point the hair dryer, and be sure to keep your hair at least 10 cm away from the air inlet. Failure to do so may result in your hair becoming sucked in and trapped in the hair dryer. Please k
eep a distance of over 3 cm between the air outlet and your hair. Failure to do so may result in your hair being burned. Avoid using thinner, benzine, or any other solvent to clean the hair dryer. This hair dryer is equipped with an automatic overheating protective device. If the hair dryer overheats, it will switch to cool air mode. Switch off the hair dryer and unplug it from the power socket. Allow it to cool down for a few minutes before using it again. Check that no fluff, hair etc. is in the air inlets and outlets before switching it on again. You may notice a characteristic odor when using this hair dryer. This is caused by the ozone it generates and is not harmful to the human body. Always switch off the hair dryer (“0” position) after use and before unplugging it from the power socket. Unplug it from the power socket when not in use. Always grasp the plug while unplugging. Failure to do so may lead to fire and/or an accident. Before connecting the hair dryer, check that the voltage of the hair dryer corresponds to the local voltage. Avoid cutting, damaging, or modifying the cord. Avoid pulling, twisting, or bending the cord with unnecessary force. Avoid placing heavy objects on the cord or allow it to get pinched in between objects. Wrapping the cord around the hair dryer may cause fire and/or electric shock. If the cord is damaged or becomes hot, stop using it immediately. When the hair dryer is used in a bathroom, unplug it after use since the proximity of water presents a hazard even when the hair dryer is switched off.
For additional protection, the installation of a residual current device (RCD) having a rated residual operating current not e
xceeding 30 mA is advisable in the electrical circuit
supplying the bathroom. Ask your installer for advice.
Using the hair dryer
Stop using it immediately if the hair dryer does not produce air constantly and the cord or plug is damaged or becomes hot; or the plug fits loosely in the outlet. Never insert foreign objects into or otherwise block either the air inlet or outlet. Avoid using the hair dryer near inflammable materials such as benzine, paint thinner, spray, etc. Only use the appliance when the hands are dry. Use and place the hair dryer only in a dry location. Never submerge the hair dryer in water. This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety. Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance. Make sure that an appropriate temperature and airflow are selected before use.

How to use the hair dryer
1
1
Select whether to have nanoe™ or not with the nanoe™ switch (F).
2
2
Select the temperature of the airflow with the temperature selector (L).
3
3
Select the intensity of the airflow with the main switch (K).
Notes
nanoe™ is produced when the main switch (K) is set to position 1 to
2 and the nanoe™ switch (
F) is set to
. nanoe™ is invisible to the naked eye. If you are worried about hair damage, set the switch to “1: Set (Gentle airflow)” before use. If you want to dry your hair quickly, set the healthy quick drying nozzle (M) in the direction shown in the illustration.
Drops of water may blow out of the nanoe™ outlet (C) during use, but this is not a malfunction. A humming noise may come out of the nanoe™ outlet (C), but this is the sound of nanoe™ being discharged and is not a malfunction. The effects of nanoe™ might not be felt by the following people. People with crimpy hair, strong curly hair, very smooth hair, short hair, or who have had a hair straightening perm in the last three or four months.
About nanoe™
What is nanoe™?
(nanoe™ generation method: High-voltage discharge) nanoe™ is charged fine water particles, generated by applying high voltage in order to split water. Its diameter is smaller than 1/100 of steam (approx. 6000-8000 nm), and it cannot be seen with the naked eye. Since nanoe™ is generated by collecting water in the air, it may be difficult to generate in certain cases depending on the environment. (It is harder to collect water in the air when it is cold and humidity is low.)
How nanoe™ works
Generally hair has properties which make it easy to become positively charged with electricity. These properties attract strongly negatively charged nanoe™ which penetrates the hair with moisture. Furthermore, they make the hair slightly acidic, tighten cuticles and keep your hair strong, elastic and healthy.
nanoe™ charge panel
When nanoe™ continues to strike hair, hair becomes negatively charged. As a result, the nanoe™ and negatively charged hair repel each other, making it difficult for nanoe™ to reach hair. With the nanoe™ Charge System, by just gripping the panel together with the handle, the negative charge accumulated on hair is released. Because of this, nanoe™ continues to penetrate into hair, supplying moisture and thoroughly moistening down to the tips of hair.

Repair and maintenance of the hair dryer
Cleaning method
Maintaining the hair dryer
Clean only after turning off the power and removing the power cord from the power outlet. Clean the housing only with a soft cloth slightly dampened with tap water or soapy tap water. Do not use thinner, benzine, alcohol or other chemicals.
Doing so may cause malfunction, cracking/discoloration of parts etc.
Tips
Leaving the hair dryer with hair products or makeup still adhered to the handle or body may degrade the plastic, causing discoloration or cracking, and malfunction.
Maintaining the air outlet
This is the only maintenance for which the hair dryer should be plugged into an outlet. Use a commercially available toothbrush.
Scrub to remove any dust, hair etc. blocking the mesh.
Switch the temperature selector to “Cool” and blow away the dust etc. as you scrub with the toothbrush. During maintenance, do not block the air inlet with your hands etc. Be careful when using the hair dryer for the first time after maintenance, since it may blow out dust etc.
-
Tips
If the mesh of the filter in the air inlet or the air outlet becomes blocked, the hair dryer may switch frequently between hot and cool, degrading performance and causing sparks to be seen within the body. (These sparks do not present a hazard.)
Maintaining the nanoe™ outlet
Clean only after turning off the power and removing the power cord from the power outlet. Use commercially available cotton swabs. (We recommend the thin cotton swabs made for use with babies.) This maintenance allows the hair dryer to sustain the generated level of nanoe™ over a long period.
nanoe™ outlet
Gently rub the tip of the needle portion
cotton swab
1. Dampen the end of the cotton swab with tap water.
2
. A needle portion is located
deep within the nanoe™ outlet. Using the swab, rub this por
tion gently about 5
times.

Maintaining the filter
Clean only after turning off the power and removing the power cord from the power outlet. At least once a month, when dust etc. has built up, detach the filter from the hair dryer and remove the dust etc. using a toothbrush or vacuum cleaner. Use a commercially available toothbrush.
1. Pull on the catch on the bottom side of the filter to detach.
2
. Remove any dust etc. adhered to the filter or air inlet.
Remove the dust etc. adhered to the outside of the filter using a vacuum cleaner. If this does not remove the dust, use the thick part of your fingers to push the dust etc. through the fine mesh on the internal side towards the metal mesh on the external side, and scrub away carefully with a toothbrush. Using the toothbrush, carefully scrub away any dust etc. from the internal side of the filter. Using a vacuum cleaner or toothbrush, carefully remove any dust etc. adhered to the air inlet.
*
Rubbing forcefully with your nails may tear the filter, so
please use a toothbrush.
3. Attach the filter securely, starting with the upper side.
Keep pressing until you hear a “click” from both upper and lower catches.
Notes
Only qualified personnel should repair or disassemble the hair dryer. If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent, or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard. If the cord or plug is damaged, stop using it immediately and contact an authorized Panasonic service center. When the hair dryer is blowing hot air, occasionally air may turn cool or sparks may be seen. In such cases, dust may have accumulated at the air inlet and/or the air outlet. Also, the air inlet may be being blocked by your hair, hands, etc. (This phenomenon is the result of the hair dryer’s thermal switch. The sparks do not pose a danger in and/or themselves.) Slide the main switch to the “0” position and remove any dust that has accumulated. If sparks occur inside the nanoe™ outlet, the electrodes have become dirty resulting in abnormal discharge. If this happens, clean the inside of the nanoe™ outlet.
