Your Optimus 900 MHz Wireless Am ­plified Speakers bring you the latest in wireless speaker technology. Oper­ating in the 900 MHz band, this speaker system’s signals easily travel through walls and floors, delivering high-quality stereo sound to almost anywhere in or around your home. Now you do not need to place the speakers in the same room as your stereo system to hear your favorite programs.
The system includes a transmitter that connects to your audio source, and two speakers that receive signals from the transmitter.

THE FCC WANTS YOU TO KNOW
Your speaker system might cause TV or radio interference even when it is operating properly. To determine whether your speaker system is caus­ing the interference, unplug your speaker system’s transmitter. If the interference goes away, your speaker system is causing it.
Try to eliminate the interference by:
• Moving your speakers aw ay f rom the receiver
• Connecting your speakers to out­lets that are on a different electri­cal circuit from the receiver
• Contacting your local Ra­dioShack store for help
Note:
interference from other 900 MHz de­vices such as wireless headphones, cordless phones, or other wireless speakers that operate on the same frequencies. If you experience inter­ference, try moving the speakers away from the other devices.

PREPARATION
INSTALLING THE TRANSMITTER
Connecting to Your Audio Source
You can connect the transmitter to your audio source’s left and right au­dio output jacks or its headphones jack.

OPERATION
Follow these steps to use your speak­ers.
1. Turn on your audio source.
2. Rotate the transmitter’s

3. If you connected the transmitter to an audio sou rce’s LINE OUT­PUT jack (or a jack that is not controlled by the audio source’s volume control), slowly rotate

If you connected the transmitter to an audio source’s headp hones jack (or jack that is controlled by the audio source’s volume con­trol), set the audio source’s vol­ume to the desired level first (about midway), then slowly rotate

Notes:
• When the indicator lights
steadily, the speaker is tuned to the same frequency being transmitted by the transmitter.
• If reception is poor, even when
the speakers are near the transmitter, try either raising the transmitter to a position higher than the speakers or moving it aw ay from the audi o source.
• When transmitting over long
distances, the signal might get weaker and the indicator m ight dim. When this hap pens, your speakers continue to operate but receive the sign als in m on­aural instead of stereo.

IF YOU HAVE A PROBLEM
If you cannot get sound once you have connected the system, check these things:
• Make sure you rotate each speaker’s clockwise until it clicks so the speakers are turned on
• Be sure the AC adapters are plugged in and have power
• Be sure the audio source is turned on and tuned to an active frequency
• If you have connected to jacks that are controlled by the audio source’s volume control, be sure the source’s volume control is turned up
• Adjust the speaker’s volume con­trol
• Adjust

CARE AND MAINTENANCE
Your Optimus 900 MHz W ireless Am plified Speakers are an example of s uperi­or design and craftsmanship. The following suggest ions will help you care for your speakers so you can enjoy them for years.
Keep the speakers dry. If they get wet, wipe them dry immediately. Liquids might contai n minerals that can corrode the electronic cir­cuits .
Use and store the speakers only in normal temperature environ­ments. Temperature extreme s can shorten the life of electronic de­vices and distort or melt plastic parts.
Handle the speakers gently and carefu lly. Dropping t hem can dam­age the circuit boards an d c an caus e t he spea ke rs to work improp­erly.
Keep the speakers aw ay from dust and dirt, which can cause pre­mature wear of parts.
Wipe the speakers with a damp cloth occasionally to keep them

looking new. Do not use harsh chemicals, cleaning solvents, or strong detergents to clean the speakers.
Modifying or tampering with your speaker system’s internal components can cause a malfunction and might invalidate its warranty and void your FCC autho­rization to operate it. If your speaker system is not operating as it should, take it to your local RadioShack store for assistance.
