Suggestions
before
temperature
taking
5.1
Replace
any
low-voltage
battery to
ensure
full
power
supply.
5.2
Por
proper
measurement,
leave
the thermometer for
30
minutes
in
measurement
location.
5.3
An
unexpected
fluctuation
of
ambient temperature
is
lilrely
to
affect
measurement accuracy.
When
a measurement site temperature
varies
with
the
thermometer location,
or
taking a temperature measurement
in
front
of
an
air
conditioner, precise results
will
not
be
possible.
5.4
Be
sure
to
keep
ear
clean
from cerium deposits and other
blockage
as
this
can
cause inaccuracy.
5.5
Measurement
should
be
taken
at
rest
time
to
ensure
an
accmate result.
Temperature
is
lilrely to
increase
immediately
after
exercise
or
bathing.
5.6
The
right ear
reading
may differ from the reading taken at the left ear.
Therefore, always take
the
temperature
in
the
same
ear.
The
ear
must
be
free
from
obstructions,
or
excess
ear
wax
build-up,
to
take
an
accurate
reading
.
In
case
of
otitis,
please
use
the
forehead mode.
5.
7
In
case
of
ear
treatments (pn:scribed
ear
drops,
or
other
inner
ear
trea1ments)
please
do
not
take a temperature from
the
1reated
ear.
The
ear
canal
being
treated,
the
temperature
reading
by
thiJI
thermometer
will
not
reflect
a precise
body
temperature.
5.8
For
unskilled
wiers,
it is
recommended
for the first
time
to
measure
the same
ear
3 times.
The
maximum
reading
shall
be
recorded
in
case
of
different results
since
any
thermometer undergoing a continuous operation
is
deemed
to
see a
lllight error

ESTIMATION OF

BODY
TEMPERATURE
5.9.1
Toe
normal
value of
the
body temperature is a
range
and
no
t fixed
on
an
invariable value. The following
tablel
shows
that
ranges
of
normal
also vary
by
site. Therefore, readings from different sites,
even
if
taken
at
the
same
time,
should
not
be
directly compared.
