INTRODUCTION:
The SE-5-EP / SE-8-EP are compact, high-performance Gigabit
Ethernet switches equipped with five to eight auto-speed-sensing
10/100/1000Mbps ports. The sw it ch w ill a ut omat ica ll y negot iate w ith its
connec ted partner s on the net work sp eed and duplex mo de. The SE-5EP / SE-8-EP are perfect for segmenting large networks into smaller
connec ted subnet s for im proved performance or expan ding th e numb er
of por ts in an AV cabinet where o nly one CAT5e cable is locat ed.
The SE-5-EP / SE-8-EP has the option to be powered by a tra dition al a/c
adapter or by a PoE Ethernet Cable. Use of a P oE Ethernet ca ble gives
the user the opportunity to install the switch in remote places where
power outlet s are ina cc essible.
*CAUTION: Do not plug-in both the PoE and A/C Adapter. Doing so m ay
dama ge the sw itch.
The SE-5-EP / S8Wpde deliver a dedicated 10/100/1000Mbps
connec tion t o every attached client with no b andwidth conges tion i ss ue.
It s upports auto MDI / MDI-X function as well as 9k jum bo frames, which
mean better network performance because the switch can send more
data at the same time. Eac h port cou ld be used to connect t o another
swit ch or hub w ith no cr oss over RJ -45 cab le.
The switc h is plug-n-play without any software to configure and also fully
compliant with all network protocols. Its heavy du ty metal chas sis de si gn
provides for proper cooling and makes it easy to place on a desk or
mount on a wall. In addition, the fan-less design results in silent
operation, w hich is espec ia ll y import ant when it is mou nted to a wall.
