Please read all operating instructions carefully before using and note the following points:
• Best results can be obtained when the scales are used at normal room temperature. Exposure of the scales to extremes of temperature should be avoided.
• Before using or calibrating the scales, they should be allowed to stabilise. Switch on the scales and leave for a few minutes before use.
• The reliability and accuracy of the scales may be affected by environmental conditions, such as dust, dirt, moisture, vibration, air currents or proximity to other electrical equipment. Also, make sure that the surface where the scales are to be used is stable and vibration free.
• Handle with care! Although designed to be fairly durable, the user should avoid dropping heavy objects on to the weighing plate. In some circumstances the internal sensor may be damaged by inappropriate use.
• The item to be weighed should be placed carefully onto the scales and the display allowed to stabilise. Remove the item immediately. Using the scales in this manner will increase the longevity and maintain the accuracy of the scales.
• Using the scales in the vicinity of in-use cell phones, radios, computers or other electronic devices which emit radio frequency energy. Exposure to such emissions may cause the scales to malfunction and give unreliable readings.
• The scales’ adjustable feet can be used to raise the height of the scales (turn in an anti-clockwise direction) or lower the height of the scales (turn in a clockwise direction). The scales include an integral spirit level, which can be viewed on the front of the scales, and which can be used as an aid to levelling the scales on the chosen surface.
• The scales can be powered using either the AC/mains adaptor or the 6-volt rechargeable battery. When Lo.bAt is displayed, this indicates that the rechargeable battery is low and that it should be recharged immediately.

0______ The power-on zero point is below the calibration zero point -20%FS when the
scale is turned on, or the weight is power-on zero point -5%FS when pressing ZERO button.
______ The current weight is less than -25%FS. ______ The current weight is over 102%FS. CAL-0 Zero point at calibration. CAL-F Full capacity at calibration. CAL-Er Calibration error. A.ch.Er Analog channel error. EEP.Er EEPROM accessing error or data in EEPROM is erroneous or not within the

3. Working temperature: 5°C-35°C.
4. Power supply: 12Vdc, 650mA AC adaptor, with negative centre or 6V4AH rechargeable
battery.
Note:
• When the rechargeable battery is fully charged the scales can be used for 20 hours
continuously.
• When the power supply registers <5.4V(±0.1V), the scales will be turned off
automatically.
• When the power supply registers <5.7V(±0.1V) but over 5.4V(±0.1V), the scales will
alternatively display Lo.bAT and whatever the screen currently displays in its normal mode.
• If the AC adaptor is used to charge the battery or to power the scales, the switch on
the underside of the scales must be switched to the on position.
5. Working current: <150mA.
6. Recharging current: <400mA.
1. ZERO/ON/OFF
(i) Press this button to activate the scales. The scales perform its self-examination mode,
display the working voltage x.x Udc, display the machine’s capacity (F6.000kg or F15.000kg), before finally setting the zero point and displaying a zero reading. Note: The power-on zero-point range is: calibration zero-point ±20% FS (full scale weight capability).
(ii) To reset the scales to zero after any operation, press the ZERO key for less than five
seconds. Pressing the ZERO key for more than five seconds will activate the ON/OFF function. The ZERO key range is power-on zero-point ±5% FS. The ZERO function is used to clear any TARE weight that may be displayed after previous weighing operations. When the TARE weight is displayed the NET LED will be activated. After using the ZERO function the ZERO LED will be shown. If the current weight exceeds ±5% then the ZERO operation is disabled and the display will read 0
______
or 0______, before returning to
the previous reading.
2. TARE/UNIT
Pressing the TARE/UNIT key for less than five seconds activates the TARE function. Pressing the TARE/UNIT key for more than five seconds activates the UNIT function. The TARE range for these scales is up to 102%FS. The TARE function should be activated when the scales are in normal mode, i.e. the display reads 0 and no items are on the weighing tray. When the TARE weight is not reading 0, the NET LED light will be activated. Note: Gross weight = Net weight + Tare weight
£102%FS.
UNIT: The UNIT function is used to select the weight scale (lb, kg, g, oz, lb.oz).

Warnings
Cleaning the scales
The calibration of this product requires specialist tools and should only be carried out by persons with appropriate skills/qualifications. Should you experience any problems please return the goods to your supplier, who will arrange professional calibration of the scales.
UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES SHOULD MAINTENANCE OR CALIBRATION BE ATTEMPTED BY PERSONS WITHOUT APPROPRIATE SKILLS OR QUALIFICATIONS. SUCH ACTIONS MAY RESULT IN IRREPAIRABLE DAMAGE AND WILL ALSO INVALIDATE ANY GUARANTEE OR WARRANTY.
The scales incorporate an AUTO-OFF function. To activate this action the scales must be switched on. To set the function, press the TARE and ZERO buttons for more than 5 seconds until the A.oFF.x message is displayed.
Setting the AUTO-OFF function time is achieved by pressing the TARE button the required number of times, until the desired AUTO-OFF time is displayed (i.e. A.oFF.4 will cause the scales to switch themselves off after four minutes).
The AUTO-OFF time is confirmed and saved by pressing the ZERO button.
If the scales are to be used in wet or damp conditions using a mains electrical connection (110V/230V), the supply must be correctly fused and protected by an approved RCD which conforms to BS7071 or BS7288 or IEC1008-2-2 BS EN 61008:1995. IF YOU ARE NOT
SURE ABOUT THIS WARNING YOU MUST SEEK THE ADVICE OF A QUALIFIED ELECTRICIAN.
To avoid an electric shock, or permanent damage to the machine, you must isolate the scales from the electricity supply before carrying out any routine maintenance.
To avoid damage to the display, top plate or body of the scales, it is not advised to use any harsh abrasives, scouring cleaners and alkaline solutions, such as washing soda, when cleaning the scales. Special care should be taken when cleaning the digital display screen, which could be permanently damaged by the use of inappropriate cleaning agents. DO NOT
ATTEMPT TO CLEAN ANY INTERNAL COMPONENTS.
Best cleaning results are obtained by the use of a clean, lint-free cloth, which has been slightly dampened using a weak water and washing-up liquid solution.
