Thank you for purchasing our “Ottimo” Coffee Maker. Each unit has been manufactured to ensure safety, reliability, and easy of use. Before use, please read these instructions carefully and save them for future reference.
IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS
When using your “Ottimo” Coffee Maker, basic precautions should always be followed, including the following:
! This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with
reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they are supervised or have been given instruction concerning the use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.
! Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the
appliance.
! Always ensure that the voltage on the rating label corresponds to the voltage
in your home.
! Check the power cord and plug regularly for any damage. If the cord or the
plug is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer or a qualified person in order to avoid an electrical hazard.
! This appliance is intended for household use only. Industrial or commercial
use will void the warranty, and the supplier can not be held responsible for injury or damage caused when using the appliance for any other purpose than that intended.
! Incorrect operation and improper use can damage the appliance and cause
injury to the user.
! Do not use the appliance if it has been dropped or damaged in any way. In
case of damage, take the unit in for examination and/or repair by an authorized repair agent.
! To reduce the risk of electric shock, do not immerse or expose the motor
assembly, plug or the power cord to water or any other liquid.
! Never immerse the unit in water or any other liquid for cleaning purposes. ! Remove the plug from the socket by gripping the plug. Do not pull on the
cord to disconnect the appliance. Always unplug the unit when not in use, before cleaning or when adding or removing parts.
! The use of accessory attachments that are not recommended or supplied by
the manufacturer may result in injuries, fire or electric shock.

! Do not let the cord hang over the edge of a table or counter. Ensure that
the cord is not in a position where it can be pulled on inadvertently.
! Do not allow the cord to touch hot surfaces and do not place on or near a hot
gas or electric burner or in a heated oven.
! Use of an extension cord with this appliance is not recommended.
However, if it is necessary to use an extension lead, ensure that the lead is suited to the power consumption of the appliance to avoid overheating of the extension cord, appliance or plug point. Do not place the extension cord in a position where it can be pulled on by children or animals or tripped over.
! This appliance is not suitable for outdoor use. Do not use this appliance for
anything other than its intended use.
! Do not carry the appliance by the power cord. ! Before connecting the coffee maker to the mains, check that the voltage
matches the voltage on the characteristics plate, use a socket with an earth connection.
! Place the coffee maker on a flat surface, far from the edge of the working top
to avoid it getting knocked over by accident.
! The glass pot is designed to be used with this coffee machine. Do not place
the hot glass pot on a wet or cold surface. Do not use the glass pot if is cracked or the handle is loose.
! Do not place hot glass pot on or near paper, cloth or other flammable
material.
! Do not allow liquid to evaporate from glass pot. Do not heat glass pot when
empty.
! Keep children away from the appliance ! Do not touch the hot surface directly. Use handles or knobs. ! Switch off and disconnect the coffee maker from the mains when not in use
and before cleaning. Allow it to cool down before placing or removing parts.
! In order to disconnect the coffee machine, set the switch to position “off” and
unplug the appliance.
! This appliance is intended to be used in household and similar applications
such as:
- Staff kitchen areas in shops, offices and other working environments;
- Farm houses;
- By clients in hotels, motels and other residential type environments;
- Bed and breakfast type environments.

USING YOUR COFFEE MAKER
You must read all instructions carefully before use.
1. Remove all packing material and please check carefully to ensure that your coffee maker is in good condition. It must have no cracks on the unit and no damage to the cord/plug.
Note : CLEAN THE COFFEE MAKER BEFORE USING IT FOR THE FIRST TIME.
2. To rinse out the inside, run a brew cycle by pouring cold water up to the “Maximum” level mark in the water reservoir without adding coffee and coffee filter. When done, turn off the coffee maker and discard the water from the Glass pot.
3. Never connect the plug into the electric outlet if there is no water in the Coffee Maker.
TO USE YOUR COFFEE MAKER
1. Open water reservoir lid. Use the glass pot to fill the required amount of cold water in the reservoir. Do not fill over the upper mark on the level gauge. After adding the water, you must replace the water reservoir lid.
2. Please take down the coffee pot first then open the funnel by swing out from left to right.
3. Fit nylon filter in the funnel and check it is correctly in place. Add ground coffee in it. Close the funnel.
4. Place glass pot on the heating plate beneath the funnel and plug in the unit.
5. You can start to make the coffee by pressing the on/off button to the “ I ”
position. The pilot light will indicate that the coffee maker is working.
6. You can remove the glass pot during brewing to pour a cup. The anti-drip function
ensures that coffee does not drip from the filter onto the heating plate. As soon as you replace the glass pot brewing will resume. Note : Always replace the pot within 20 seconds to prevent the funnel overflowing.
7. Once the coffee is ready, the heating plate under the glass pot will keep it hot.
8. Once the preparation cycle has finished. Wait a minute until the drip has completely finished.
9. Swicth off by pressing the on/off button to the “ 0 “ position. Note: A. You can use number 4 paper filters if needed.
B. For correct operation, do not use coffee which has been too finely ground.

CARE AND CLEANING
Remove plug from the mains socket, and allow the coffee maker to cool down before cleaning it.
After daily use, wash the moving parts (water reservoir lid, nylon filter, glass pot and glass pot lid) with soapy water and clean the outside of the appliance with a soft damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners, steel wool pads or scouring pads. Never immerse the coffee maker in water.
Remove limes when you observe an excess of steam or the coffee preparation time is too long. It is recommended you remove lime scale every two months. To do so:
1. Place the empty glass pot on the heating plate.
2. Mix three cups of white vinegar with nine cups of cold water into the
reservoir.
3. Switch on the coffee maker for a minute. Allow half of the solution to run
through and then switch off .
4. Leave for half an hour and switch on the coffee maker again. Allow the
rest of the solution to run through. Empty the glass pot .
5. To eliminate the vinegar remains, fill the reservoir with cold water below the
upper mark on the level gauge, replace the empty glass pot, switch on and allow the water to pass through.
6. Pass fresh water through the coffee maker 3 times (as described in point 5).
The coffee maker now ready for use.
