Opening your OtterBox 1990 Case

Step 1

Remove the silicone skin from the hard shell.

Step 2

Separate the two halves of the case.

Installing Your Samsung Q1 Ultra or Q1 Ultra Premium Into The Case

Step 1 - Foam

If using a Q1 Ultra Premium skip to step 3.

If using a Q1 Ultra with standard 4-cell battery you will use both foam inserts.
If using a Q1 Ultra with extended 6-cell batter you will only need to use the foam labeled for the Q1U.

Step 2 - Installing Foam

To install the foam peel off the back of the foam and place it within the guides.
Press firmly to secure the foam.

Step 3 - Optional Layer 1

For maximum protection the use of the clear membrane is recommended.
Two membranes are included with the case. One is for the Q1 Ultra and the other is for the Q1 Ultra Premium.
The membranes are labeled on the lower right edge. Determine which membrane fits your device.

3.1 Quick Install: Align the clear membrane with the front of the device (1).
To reduce air bubbles, it is recommended that you use the edge of a credit card and smooth out the surface (2).
Note: To fully remove air bubbles see recommended install below.

3.2 Recommended Install: Fill a large drinking glass with water. Add one drop of dish soap and stir thoroughly (1).
Add a small amount of the mixture to the tip of your finger and apply to the screen of the device (2).
A very small mount of the mixture is needed - Do not over apply the mixture.
Immediately align the front of the clear membrane with the keyboard and screen (3).
It is recommended that you do not touch the screen for 24 hours until the water can dry out.

Step 4 - Install Hard Shell

Place the front of the device into the front piece of the hard shell.
Take the back piece and snap the two halves together.

Step 5 - Install Silicone Skin

Wrap the silicone around the hard shell, making sure everything aligns.
Close all the access plugs.

Step 6 - Install Stylus

The 1990 case has an external stylus holder designed to be used with the OtterBox tethered stylus.
Peel off the back of the adhesive on the stylus mount and press firmly into the circular groove above the stand.
If the tether is not necessary, it can be cut off and used without the the tether.

Step 7 - Install Hand Strap/ Shoulder Strap (sold separately)

The case comes with 1 hand strap that can be mounted on either side of the case.
To install the hand strap, or optional shoulder strap, use the included screws mounts and wrench.
Screw one mount on the top and one on the bottom. Do not overtighten.
The hand strap or shoulder strap can now be attached to the mounts.
An additional/ replacement hand strap or shoulder strap can be ordered separately.

Note: The stock OEM Samsung lanyard is compatible with the hand strap/ shoulder strap mounts.

Stand

A flip-out stand is located on the back of the case.

Ports

All I/O ports are accessible through silicone plugs.

OtterBox products come with a ONE (1) YEAR Limited Warranty from the date of the retail purchase by the original end-user.
If a material or workmanship defect arises and a valid claim is received within the Warranty Period, OtterBox will replace the
case only. OtterBox cannot be held liable for damages to personal property due to misuse or improper care and maintenance
of case and o-ring seals. OtterBox warranty does not, under any circumstance, cover the replacement or cost of any
electronic device or personal property inside or outside of the case.
