IMPORTANT NOTICE
This leaflet guides you on how to use and maintain your
FM receiver. Please read the leaflet carefully including the
Warning section. This will help you to achieve the full
benefit of your new FM receiver.

Preparing your FM system
Setting the system up requires an FM transmitter, your FM
receiver and a DAI compatible hearing aid. Connect your FM
receiver to the hearing aid (see picture 1 and 2) and switch
on the FM transmitter to activate the FM system. Your FM
receiver has no battery. It draws a small amount of power
from the hearing aid battery.

details on the functionality of your specific FM system.

Attaching your FM receiver to the hearing aid
1. Open the battery drawer on the hearing aid and insert
a new battery. Insert your FM receiver (use of force is
unnecessary)
2. Close the battery drawer carefully.

Hearing aid operation
When your FM receiver is connected, the hearing aid will automatically detect the FM receiver and add two extra programs.
The default hearing aid program is the FM + the hearing aid
microphone program. If you need to change the setting to
listen to FM only, you can switch to the next program on the
hearing aid push button.
With the FM receiver mounted, the push button of your
hearing aid can at any time be used to switch back and forth
between standard programs and the two FM programs.
When Oticon Opn or Siya hearing aids are in an FM program,
flight mode is activated to ensure a high quality FM signal.

LED
Your FM receiver has a Light Emitting Diode (LED).
When this light is on and blinking, it confirms that:
• The hearing aid battery is working
• The FM receiver is ON
• The FM receiver is receiving an FM signal
Programming the LED
Use an Amigo T30/T31 FM transmitter to program the LED
in one of two ways:
ON: Blink. The LED will blink when an FM signal is present.
OFF: The LED will remain off, even though an FM signal
is present.
Channel Seek button and o function
Your FM receiver has a Channel Seek button that can change
channel and turn the receiver off.
• A short press will launch a search through the pre-defined
channel list search
• A longer press (more than two seconds) will turn the FM
receiver off. A short melody will be played to notify you
that the FM receiver has gone into off mode
Your FM receiver only scans the channels that are in the
channel list. If no channel is receiving an FM signal, the
receiver will revert to the original channel.
If more than one channel with a strong FM signal is present,
it will lock on to the first one in its channel list. For a different
channel, simply press the button again.
Channel management
Your FM receiver contains a predefined list of channels, all
of which are functional. You can customize the channel list
using Amigo T30/T31. These units can also be used to
wirelessly synchronize channels with your FM receiver.
The FM receiver can be programmed to wake up in the
channel last used or any pre-specified channel. If you are not
using Amigo T30/T31 you can still change channels using the
Channel Seek button on your FM receiver.
Sleep mode
Your FM receiver has sleep mode functionality. Whenever the
FM signal disappears for more than 7 seconds, the FM receiver
will automatically “fall asleep” to conserve battery power.
A built-in signal sensor will detect any FM signal. When this
signal reappears, your FM receiver will reactivate and the
LED will be lit. Should the signal be absent for more than 90
minutes, the FM receiver will automatically drop into off
mode. It will then have to be turned on manually.
In sleep mode, the hearing aid will disable the two FM
programs, but if your FM receiver detects an FM signal,
the two programs will be added automatically again.
Amigo T30/T31
If an Amigo T30/T31 FM transmitter is used with your
FM receiver, the following programmable features will
be available:
• Multi-channel (can be wirelessly programmed
with an Amigo T30/T31)
• LED indicator
• Manual channel pushbutton
• Assigning a name to the receiver
• Assigning an ear to the receiver
• FM-only gain
• FM+M gain
• Conrmation beep
Intended use
The FM receiver is intended as a wireless receiver and
transmitter of sound between hearing aids and the
surrounding environment, including speech and wireless
electronic audio devices.
The FM receiver is intended to be used by children older than
36 months and adults together with their hearing solution.
Introduction
Amigo R12G2 is an FM receiver and is a part of Oticon’s Amigo
FM product family, which supports access to the teacher’s
voice in school and for example the parent’s voice when
at home.
If you have additional questions about the use of your FM
receiver, please contact your hearing care professional.
Never change the hearing aid battery and never connect
the FM receiver to the hearing aid in front of infants, small
children or people with learning difficulties.
The battery drawer can be made tamper resistant
(optional). Consult your hearing care professional for
further instructions.
IMPORTANT NOTICE
Troubleshooting guide
Problem
No sound / no FM reception.
Solution
• Check that the hearing aid battery is inserted correctly
• Check that the FM receiver is on and correctly connected
• Check that the transmitter is on
• Press the Channel Seek button again
Problem
The FM receiver cannot be synchronized.
Solution
Synchronization takes place wirelessly, so if the FM receiver
fails to confirm (with three blinks of the LED), try to move
the transmitter closer, farther away or slightly to one side.
Then press the SYNC button on the transmitter again.
For further assistance, please contact your hearing care
professional.
Cleaning
Use a soft, dry cloth to clean your FM receiver.
IMPORTANT NOTICE
Your FM receiver must never be washed or immersed
in water or other liquids.
Do not wear your FM receiver while showering or
participating in water activities.

Warnings
You should familiarize yourself fully with the following
general warnings and the entire contents of this leaflet
before using your FM receiver to ensure personal safety
and correct use. Consult your hearing care professional if
you experience unexpected operations or events with
your FM receiver.
Choking hazards and risk of swallowing
batteries or other small parts
The FM receiver should be kept out of reach of children and
anyone who might swallow it or otherwise cause injury to
themselves.
If an FM receiver is swallowed, see a doctor immediately.
Use with hearing aids
Use the FM receiver only with your designated hearing aid.
Consult your hearing care professional for further instructions.
Interference
The FM receiver has been thoroughly tested for interference
according to the most stringent international standards.
However, interference between the FM receiver and other
devices (e.g. some mobile telephones, citizens band devices,
shop alarm systems and other wireless devices) may occur.
If this occurs, increase the distance between the FM receiver
and the interfering device.
Heat and chemicals
The FM receiver must never be exposed to extreme heat e.g.
left inside a parked car in the sun.
The FM receiver must not be dried in microwave ovens or
other ovens.
The chemicals in cosmetics, hairspray, perfume, aftershave
lotion, suntan lotion and insect repellent can damage the
FM receiver. Always remove your FM receiver before applying
such products and allow time to dry before use.
X-ray/CT/MR/PET scanning, electrotherapy and surgery
Remove your FM receiver before X-ray/CT/MR/PET scannings,
electrotherapy, surgery, etc. as your FM receiver may be
damaged when exposed to strong electromagnetic fields.
Active implant
Caution must be taken with active implants.
In general, please follow the guidelines recommended by the
manufacturers of implantable defibrillators and pacemakers
on use with mobile phones and magnets as hearing aids and
accessories also contains radio transmitters like mobile
phones.
If you have an active brain implant, please contact the
manufacturer of your implantable device for information
about the risk of disturbance .
Possible side effects
The otherwise non-allergenic materials used in your FM
receiver may in rare cases cause a skin irritation or other side
effects.
Please, seek consultation with a physician if these conditions
occur.
Use In traffic
Using the FM receiver can distract you. Be aware of your
surroundings while using the FM receiver.
Please refer to national traffic laws regarding the use
of communication devices while in traffic.
International warranty
Your FM receiver is covered by an international limited
warranty issued by the manufacturer for a period of 12
months from the date of delivery. This limited warranty covers
manufacturing and material defects in the device itself.
Problems arising from improper/incorrect handling or care,
excessive use, accidents, repairs made by an unauthorized
party, exposure to corrosive conditions, damage due to
foreign objects entering the device, or incorrect adjustments,
are NOT covered by the limited wananty and may void it.
The above warranty does not affect any legal rights that you
might have under applicable national legislation governing
sale of consumer goods. Your hearing care professional may
have issued a warranty that goes beyond the clauses of this
limited warranty. Please consult him/her for further
information.
If you need service
Take your FM receiver to your hearing care professional,
who may be able to sort out minor problems and adjustments
immediately.
Technical Information
The FM receiver contains a radio transceiver using short range
magnetic induction technology working at 3.714 MHz.
The magnetic field strength of the transmitter is very weak
and always below 15 nW (typically below-15 dBuA/m at 10
meter distance).
The FM receiver complies with international standards
concerning radio transmitters, electromagnetic compatibility
and human exposure.
Due to the limited space available on the FM receiver,
relevant approval markings can be found in this leaflet.

The manufacturer declares that this FM receiver is in
compliance with the essential requirements and other
relevant provisions of Directive 2014/53/EU.

Changes or modifications not expressly approved by the party
responsible for compliance could void the user’s authority to
operate the equipment.
