Fitting Delta
For the ideal cosmetic appearance and most comfortable fi t with Delta please consider the following:
• Selection of correct speaker unit length
• Selection of correct dome size
Correct insertion of speaker in the ear
• Use of the ear grip, if necessary
11
Selecting Speaker Unit Length
The speaker unit is available in four lengths and in left/right versions. No. 1 is the shortest and no. 4 is the longest. The lengths most commonly used are 2 and 3.
The speaker should sit comfortably and hidden in the ear canal. The wire should be fl ush with the skin, and the top of the amplifi er should sit horizontally on top of the ear, behind the pinna.

Use the measuring tool to select the correct speaker unit length. Place the measuring tool on the ear, as shown. Choose the length corresponding to the size-marking on the measuring tool at the top of the ear canal opening.
13
Attaching the speaker unit
Slide the speaker unit into the plug. Slide only in the direction of the plug. Do not force the speaker unit plug downward. When the plug is in place, give it a fi rm push.

14
Replacing the speaker unit
Gently pull off the speaker unit. Pull only in the direction of the plug. Do not pull upwards as this may damage the plug.

15
Attaching the ear grip
The ear grip should be used to obtain a more secure retention in the ear canal. It is available in one version for both left and right ears. Insert the ear grip into the slot in the receiver.
Important: Pull the ear grip through the slot until the top of the grip is positioned inside the slot and pointing away from the dome, as illustrated. If it is incorrectly inserted, the ear grip might be diffi cult to place in the concha.
&
&
16
If the ear grip seems too long in the concha, you may cut/trim it to the desired length. Take care not to leave a sharp and pointy end when cutting as this can cause irritation in the ear.
Taking off the ear grip
17
Use a fi nger nail to dislodge the ear grip from the slot then push it through from the other side.
18
Inserting and placing the device on the ear
1. Insert the speaker with an attached dome/Micro Mold into the ear canal.
2. Place the amplifi er behind the ear.
The speaker unit with the dome/Micro Mold should be placed far enough into the ear so that the speaker wire lies fl ush with the client’s head. When looking at your client face-to-face, you should not see the speaker wire protrude/stick out.

19
If the speaker unit is too long, the amplifi er will sit too low behind the ear and the microphones will point vertically instead of horizontally. Also the wire will protrude, as pictured. Proper microphone positioning is essential for optimal performance of the directionality.
If the speaker unit is too short, it will be diffi cult to achieve suffi cient depth in the ear canal and the device may fall out.
If the wire is not fl ush with the skin, check that the insertion depth is adequate. Choose another dome size if the speaker unit needs to move further in the ear canal.

Use a hair dryer or hot air blower at low heat
setting
• Heat for a short time – a matter of seconds
Bend into desired shape and hold in place
until wire is cooled off.
Do not use excessive heat, as this could
damage the speaker unit.
20
Manipulating the speaker unit
21
“S” Curve
• To add length to the speaker, straighten out, or elongate the S portion of the speaker wire.
Bend into the Canal
• Adjust this bend to stop the wire from bowing out from the side of the client’s ear, or to increase the depth of speaker insertion.
