Product Description:

ZELION HL300 fi xtures are designed to be operated in ambient
temperatures up to 40°C with an IP54 rating to withstand crop
production environments. They are actively cooled (fan) and require
no additional cooling when operated under these temperatures.
ZELION HL300 fi xtures are intended to enhance growth of various
plants by utilizing specifi c light at specifi c wavelengths generated
using LEDs. These fi xtures o er various lighting spectra to meet the
diversity of di erent crops and greenhouse operational requirements.

ZELION HL300 Grow Light is a 100-600 watt fully dimmable and
spectra tunable LED light fi xture designed for horticultural applica­tions where supplemental lighting is required to enhance crop
performance and productivity. For instructions with light intensity
and spectra adjustments using the Senmatic HL300 Lighting Soft­ware Interface o ered by OSRAM, contact OSRAM by email at

ZELION HL300 Grow White is a 100-600 watt fully dimmable and
spectra tunable LED light fi xture designed for horticulture applications

in collaboration with growers needing special lighting requirements.
The Grow White has a combination of the Grow Light and Sunlight
fi xtures’ spectrum. This spectrum is used in climate chambers where
a higher photosynthetic activity is required or by growers requiring
supplemental light where color recognition and rapid, healthy growth
are key factors. For instructions with light intensity and spectra adjust­ments using the Senmatic HL300 Lighting Software Interface o ered

ZELION HL300 Sunlight is a 100-600 watt fully dimmable and
spectra tunable LED light fi xture recommended for growth chamber
applications where natural light is important or for supplemental
lighting where color recognition is important. To accommodate an
increasing demand from plant researchers to garden centers, a
spectrum was designed to closely match the light coming from the
sun. For instructions with light intensity and spectra adjustments
using the Senmatic HL300 Lighting Software Interface o ered by

Suspending the fi xture at the appropriate height over the plant
canopy may require more than one person to assist and ensure
safety of installer and fi xture.

Optical lenses should face down onto plant growing area. Make sure
all fi xtures are suspended the same distance from crop canopy.

Only after both suspension hooks are fully engaged and fi xture is
suspended, the main power cable should be connected to power
line by qualifi ed personnel.

NOTE: If more than one fi xture is to be installed, check with an
electrician to ensure that the power supply is adequately fused and
grounded.

· NOTE: Retain original packing materials in case there is a need to
return the product to the manufacturer.

When unpacking the ZELION HL300 fi xture from the carton, remove
all packaging materials from the fi xture.

Do not remove the ZELION HL300 fi xture from the box by the RS485
communication cable. The fi xture should be installed by qualifi ed
personnel and for product and personal safety it may require handling
by more than one person.

Installation:

Make sure main power is SHUT OFF from the main panel to instal­lation and connection to main bus bar.
The main power cable (490703 UL cable 3 m) or the RS485 com­munication cable attached to ZELION HL300 fi xtures should never
be used to lift or suspend the fi xture.

The ZELION HL300 fi xture has four mounting eyelets for support
hangers on the fi xture.

Suspend the fi xtures from hangers by placing the hangers over the
support structure and looping the short end of the wire loops into
the fi xture eyelets at each end of the fi xture. Make sure the short
end of the wire hangers are through the eyelets as show on the
picture in the right.

Fixture Operation:

Once main power is turned ON, the ZELION HL300 will begin to
operate at Factory setting. For desired operating parameters, fi xture
power intensity and spectra can be adjusted using the Senmatic
HL300 Lighting Software Interface o ered by OSRAM.

Fixture Cleaning:

To clean, wipe fi xture with a soft cloth. Clean lenses with a mild soap
and rinse thoroughly with clean water and sponge.
DO NOT use abrasive materials, solvents, scouring pads, or abrasive
cleaning powders as doing so may scratch the fi xture fi nish.
Once per season remove end-cap and clean fan and inside sur­faces using a soft brush to remove loose dust with brush or low
pressure air. Never clean with a water hose or liquid media or cleansers.

WARNING:

To avoid personal injury and/or possible product damage, the fol­lowing cautions must be followed:

· To prevent electric shock, match wide blade of plug to wide slot.

· Caution – Risk of fi re. (i.e. dry leaves and other combustible debris).

· Consult a qualifi ed electrician to ensure correct branch circuit
conductor.

· For chain or hook suspension only.

· All electrical connections and wiring should be performed by a
qualifi ed electrician.

· This product must be installed in accordance with the applicable
installation code by a person familiar with the construction and
operation of the product and the hazards involved.

· Suitable for humid locations. Fixtures are designed to withstand
water ingress according to IP54 standards.

· Suitable for operation in ambient temperature not to exceed 40°C.

· To prevent electrical shock, turn o power before inspection, instal­lation, or removal!

· This fi xture should not be installed in an enclosure or areas with
limited ventilation or high ambient temperatures.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

This warranty only applies when the Product is: Properly wired and
installed, and operated and maintained in conditions, including
environmental conditions (temperature, humidity) in accordance with
the instructions contained in the User Manual. This warranty excludes
defects or damage caused by any primary side (line voltage) power
source problems including, but not limited to, unregulated power,
short circuits or lightning induced power surges, under/over voltage/
current conditions, operating outside specifi ed temperature range,
or storing the Product outside the specifi ed temperature range. The
warranty excludes defects resulting from acts of God, war, vandal­ism, or civil disturbance. This warranty does not apply to any ab­normal use or use in violation of any applicable standard, code or
instructions for use in installations including those contained in the
latest National Electrical Code (NEC), Standards for Safety of Un­derwriters Laboratory, Inc. (UL), Standards for the American Na­tional Standards Institute (ANSI) or, in Canada, the Canadian Stan­dards Association (CSA). This warranty is void if:

• the fi xture is used for any other applications other than its intended use

• any modifi cation is made to the fi xture or its components

• the seals are intruded

• application voltage exceeds product voltage rating or installed by

an unqualifi ed electrical technician

• the fi xture operating conditions exceed those set at factory for

wattage and fan speed settings

· Do not drape, wrap, hang, or place anything on the ZELION HL300
fi xture.

· This fi xture should not be operated in any other orientation other
than as described in the installation portion of this manual.

· This fi xture is not intended for use in emergency exit signs or lighting.

· Risk of electrical shock: Do not disassemble product. No user
serviceable parts inside.

· Do not stare directly at the LED lights in fi xtures when turned on.

· Note: This product is not designed to be used with dimmers.

LIMITED WARRANTY

OSRAM SYLVANIA Inc. (“OSI”) provides a limited 2-year warranty

for ZELION

®

HL300 LED Horticulture Fixtures (the “Product”) sold

and used in North America. Subject to change without prior notice.
This limited 2-year warranty for workmanship and fi xture performance

begins one week after shipment date or the date the Product is
received by end user. OSI warrants to their authorized distributors
and subsequent purchasers that the Product listed below is free of
factory and workmanship defects, when delivered in new condition
and in its original packaging.
If the Product fails to operate during the warranty period, OSI will,
at its option, repair or replace the Product or components with the
same or similar Product or components, at no additional cost to end
user, and in accordance with the Terms and Conditions below. OSI
reserves the right to use products or component parts in the war­ranty repair or replacement process that will be comparable in
function and performance to an original product or part, as deter­mined by OSI in its sole discretion, and warranted for the remainder
of the original warranty period. LABOR IS NOT INCLUDED.

This warranty does not cover equipment, systems or components
from other manufacturers that the Purchaser uses in conjunction
with the Product. Any repair, alteration or modifi cation of the Prod­uct, including replacement of Product components with components
of other manufacturers will void the warranty in its entirety.

WARRANTY ACTIVATION / PROCESS

To obtain coverage under this warranty, the end user must complete
an OSRAM warranty registration form online at www.osram-americas.
com/zelionhlwarranty within 30 days of purchase. In the event of an
allegedly defective Product, Purchaser shall contact Professional
and Industrial Applications, Specialty Lighting customer service at:

If deemed necessary by OSI under the terms of this warranty, Pur­chaser will receive a Return Material Authorization (RMA) number,
and shall promptly return the Product or Product component at the
Purchaser’s expense, to the address provided on the RMA. The RMA
must be included on both the packing slip of the Product or Product
component being returned and on the outside of the box. FAILURE
TO FOLLOW THIS PROCEDURE SHALL VOID THE WARRANTY.

If upon examination of the Product, OSI determines the root cause
of failure to be due to a defect in materials or workmanship, OSI will
provide the appropriate remedy as set forth above. OSI RESERVES
THE RIGHT TO EXAMINE ALL ALLEGEDLY FAILED PRODUCTS OR
PRODUCT COMPONENTS TO VERIFY THE CAUSE OF FAILURE
AND PATTERNS OF USAGE AND SHALL BE THE SOLE JUDGE AS
TO WHETHER A PRODUCT OR PRODUCT COMPONENT IS DEFEC­TIVE AND COVERED UNDER THIS WARRANTY.

LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

THE FOREGOING SHALL CONSTITUTE THE EXCLUSIVE REMEDY
OF PURCHASER AND THE SOLE LIABILITY OF OSI FOR THE
PRODUCT. OSI DISCLAIMS ALL OTHER WARRANTIES, EXPRESS
OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION, THE IMPLIED
WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILTIY AND FITNESS FOR A PAR­TICULAR PURPOSE. IN NO EVENT SHALL OSI BE LIABLE FOR
ANY OTHER COSTS OR DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOST PROFITS
OR REVENUES, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL
DAMAGES, SO THE ABOVE LIMITATIONS AND EXCLUSIONS MAY
NOT APPLY. IN NO EVENT SHALL OSI’S TOTAL LIABILITY FOR
ANY REASON HEREUNDER EXCEED THE PRICE PAID BY PUR­CHASER FOR THE PRODUCT PURCHASED HEREUNDER.
