OT DMX 3x350 DIM LI
3-channel dimmer Operating instructions
Description
Purpose and application
The 3-channel dimmer OT DMX 3x350 DIM LI is used for connecting constant current LEDs and enables the user to create homogeneous colour moods, simulate daylight and create dynamic lighting effects in combination with appropriate DMX control units and user interfaces (e.g. OSRAM EASY DMX SO and related user interfaces: EASY Color Drive, EASY Hybrid Remote and EASY Touch Panel).
Function
The connection of the dimmer to a DMX network control unit (e.g. OSRAM EASY DMX SO) and the assignment of DMX addresses make it possible to individually control the three constant current LED outputs (channels).
Design
The dimmer is made up of the following components:
• “LED Output” push-in terminals for connecting the LED luminaires (A):
E
D C

B
– LED output 1 = CH1+, CH1 – LED output 2 = CH2+, CH2 – LED output 3 = CH3+, CH3-
• “DMX In” connections for DMX signal input (B)
• Button for manually setting the DMX addresses (C). The default starting address is 1 (Addr. 1 = CH1, Addr. 2 = CH2, Addr. 3 = CH3).
• “PWR In” push-in terminals for connecting the power supply (D)
• “Status”/”DMX” LEDs (E)

Safety instructions
The dimmer must only be installed and put into operation by a qualied electrician. The applicable safety regulations and accident prevention regulations must be observed.
CAUTION!
Destruction of the dimmer and other devices through incorrect mounting!
• Ensure that the connecting lines of the power supply are sized to conduct the total current required for the LED luminaires.
• Note the device labelling.
Connecting the power supply
A power supply unit is needed for the dimmer and LED luminaires. Follow the safety instructions.
The LED outputs are protected against short circuits. The affected output is switched off in the event of a short circuit.

Setting the DMX addresses
To be able to individually control the three LED outputs in a DMX network, the dimmer is assigned three consecutive DMX addresses (default setting: 1, 2 and 3), depending on the particular application. Follow the operating instructions of the control unit.
The DMX address for LED output 1 (= DMX start address) can be set manually (default setting = 1). The following DMX addresses are automatically assigned to LED outputs 2 and 3 (default setting: 2 and 3). Proceed as follows to set a different DMX start address:
Note: The DMX start address can be set up globally for multiple devices by connecting several OT DMX 3x350 DIM LI to the same DMX network and performing the following procedure.
Connect the dimmer to the control unit and switch on both.
Set all DMX channel values to 0 (e.g. by using the sliders at
the DMX mixing desk).
Press pushbutton (C) for at least 1 s. The “DMX” LED
ashes. The dimmer starts to listen and waits for a DMX conguration data frame (there is no timeout). If necessary, press pushbutton (C) for less than 1 s to abort listening mode.
Set one DMX channel (e.g. channel 3) to a value greater
than zero. The DMX start address associated to LED output 1 will be set to 3. The consecutive DMX addresses (channels 4 and 5) are automatically associated with LED outputs 2 and 3. The “DMX” LED stops ashing after the assignment is made.
Reset the DMX start address to 1
Press pushbutton (C) for at least 1 s. The “DMX” LED
ashes.
Press pushbutton (C) again for at least 1 s. The “DMX” LED
goes out.
The DMX start address of the dimmer is reset to 1.
