1. INTRODUCTION
1.1 Safety Instruction
Caution ! The UPS contains voltages which are potentially hazardou s. All repairs should be p erformed by
qualified service personnel.
The UPS has its own internal energy source (batt ery). Th e output receptacles may be live even when
the UPS is not connected to an AC supply. For safe a nd continuous operation of the UPS depend partially on th e care ta ken by user . Please observe the following precautions.
Do not disassemble the UPS. Do not attempt to power the UPS from any receptacle except a 2 -pole 3-wire grounding rece ptacle. Do not place the UPS near wat er or in environment of excessive hu midity. Do not allow liquid or any for eign object to get inside the UPS. Do not plug appliances, such as hair dryers, into the UPS recepta cles. Do not place the UPS under dire ct sunshine or close to heat -emitting source. The power socket should be installed near th e equipment a nd be easily acce ssible. To i solate from AC
input, disconnect the plug in th e power cord. The printer may best be con nected directly to wall receptacle i nstead of UPS. (laser printer can't be
connected to the UPS.) The battery will discharge naturally. I f it is c harged periodically, its life time will be prolong ed. It will
damage if long-term no use, whi ch won't be covered in our warranty.
1.2 System Description
The UPS equipped with Boost-up an d Buck-down featur es Accepts wide ra nge input window s without using batteries. It is your best choice for LAN and PC. Bu ilt-in RJ45 jacks pr otect your modem/fax l ine thoroughly. To enable user to start on the UPS without Utility Power, It is als o equipped with "cold start functio n".
2. INSTALLATION AND OPERATION
2.1.Unpacking and Inspection
Examine the packing carton for dama ge. N otify the carrier immediately i f a ny damage occurs. Retain the packing for future use.
2.2. Installation
Connect the power cord to a ve rified grounded 3-wire rece ptacle. Charge the batteries for ten (10) hours before use. The UPS will r echarge the batteries auto matically
whenever its power cord is plu gged into a wall outlet. You may u se the UPS immediately without
recharging, but the backup time may be less than the rating. Connect the power cord of your computer equipment to the Backup Outlets of the UPS. Switch on the
computer equipment.
Caution : Do not plug laser pri nters into the Backup Outlet s because they may draw too much power.
Switch on the UPS by pressing the Main Switch. The "Mains" LED will light on. The UPS is now
considered to be working properl I f overload condi tion occurs, the alarm will be ep continuously, it
means you have connected too man y devices. Please pr oceed to unplug the least critical equipment
from Backup Outlets. To test backup fu nction, you may disconn ect the power cor d of the UPS. Th e "Mains" LED of the UPS
will Light intermittently and th e alarm will beep every 4 seconds.
2.3. Storage Instruction
For extend ed storage in moderate climat es, the batteries should b e charg ed for 12 hours every 3 months by plugging the power cord into th e wall receptacle. Repeat it ev ery 2 months in high temperature locati ons.
3. OVERVIEW

4. TROUBLESHOOTING
The Troubleshooting chart covers most of the difficulties that you may encoun ter under nor mal working condition. Should the UPS fails to o perate properly, please pro ceed the followings before calling for service.
Is the UPS plugged into an incorr ect wall receptacle? If AC input voltage out of wind ows?
When calling for service, please offer the following information
Model No. and Serial No. Date of problem occur o Full d escription of the problem occur, Including condition happened, en vironment installed, devices conn ected to the UPS, etc..
5. VISUAL & AUDIBLE ALARMS
Normal mode without any loa d connected: diode no 4 is slowly flas hing. Normal mode with load connecte d: diode no 4 is quickly fla shing. Battery mode: 1 beep / 3 sec. Dio de no 3 is slowly flashing. Low battery: 1 beep / sec. Diode n o 3 is quickly flashing. Exhausted battery: Continuously beep (5 sec.)
6. BATTERY REPLACEMENT
1. Unplug the power cord fro m the socket.
2. Unscrew two screws from battery cover, slip out the cover.
3. Take off and unplug the batt ery.
4. Replace to battery this same typ e and connect properly (red t o red).
5. Put in the battery, close the co ver and screw in the screws.
