Introduction
Thank you for purchasing the Origin Seasons Landscape System. You are about to enjoy an incredible listening experience created specifically for outdoor environments. Origin engineers have invested countless hours creating loudspeakers that deliver amazing sonic performance from enclosures that can withstand the harshest elements.
The Landscape System can include multiple mid/high frequency satellites and dedicated subwoofers depending on the specific application and system design. Every speaker is designed to attach to either a 70v amplifier or a standard receiver depending on the models selected.
This instruction booklet covers the necessary information for the installation of your Landscape System, including: step-by-step instructions, troubleshooting tips for any errors that may occur, and all warranty information. If for any rea son you experience problems, or if you have installation questions, please call us at (844) 674-4461. Hours of operation are 8:00am to 5:00pm (Pacific Time), Monday through Friday.

Planning
The Landscape satellite speakers and subwoofers should be strategically placed to evenly distribute sound throughout the outdoor area. Fully plan out the locations of all satellite speakers, subwoofers, and buried wires before beginning the installation process.
Origin satellite speakers have been specially designed so that you can set them in the 70v configuration for large installs, or for small installs they can be set to 8ohm for use with a standard AV receiver. (For 8ohm configurations, the OSUB8 is the only subwoofer that should be used.)
Satellite Speaker Location
Evenly space the satellite speakers so that they’re facing the listening area. It’s acceptable to use both high and low locations for the satellite speakers. One satellite speaker will provide sound to about 250 2.
Use the appropriate mount for the satellite speakers depending on their location. Mounting options include tree mounts, spikes for locations on the ground, and surface mounts for walls or other flat surfaces.
Avoid placing them next to high-pressure sprinklers.
Subwoofer Location
Select a location for the subwoofer outside the listening area in about the middle of the satellite speaker arrangement. One subwoofer will provide bass to about 2000 2. If you’re using multiple subwoofers, space them out evenly and about equal-distance from the listening area. Try to position the subwoofer(s) away from standing water locations.
What’s Included
• Silicone filled wire nuts (x2)
• Silicone filled wire nuts (x4) (LS64S)
Required Tools/Items
• Direct burial wire
• Wire cutters
• Wire stripper
• Shovel
• Philip’s head and flat head screwdrivers
Installation Requirements
and Recommendations
For this setup, use a direct burial multi-stranded wiring designed for amplifier to speaker connections. The gauge of wire used can have an impact on the performance of your speakers and we would recommend that you choose the largest wire size that is practical for your installation. Which gauge to select depends on the length of wire to be used on any particular speaker. In general the shorter the run the smaller the wire size you can use, however you can never go wrong by using a thicker gauge.

Wiring Plan
When wiring, the satellite speakers and subwoofer(s) will be daisy-chained together (in parallel) using two channels: a le channel and a right channel. We recommend running the le and right channel wires next to each other in the same trench, and alternating which wire is connected to each satellite speaker
Amplifier
Channel 1 Channel 2
Another option is to put the subwoofer(s) on one channel and the satellite speakers on another. If you’re doing this, you’ll want set the amplifier output to mono instead of stereo for your satellite speakers. Refer to the amplifier manual for these settings.

for even sound dispersal. The subwoofer(s) can be connected to either channel anywhere in the chain. When using more than one subwoofer, evenly distribute them between the two channels.
Small System Option: For a smaller system, it’s possible to use an ordinary receiver. This option is only available if you’re using the OSUB8, and no more than two speakers per channel. All speakers and subwoofers must be set to 8ohm.

Installation
Satellite Speakers
Install the satellite speakers with their mounts. (Depending on the location and type of mount, you may want to connect the wires to the satellite speakers first.)
To aim the satellite speaker up and down, loosen the screw on the pole until the satellite speaker can be aimed, and then tighten it when it’s facing the appropriate direction. To prevent water damage, angle the satellite speaker less than 45 degrees up.
To aim the satellite speakers side to side on the tree or surface mount, the satellite speaker first should be screwed fully to the mount. Then, loosen it until it’s facing the right direction. Move the bolt just until it’s snug against the mount.
The rear cover on the satellite speaker can be removed to adjust the wattage taps when using a 70v amplifier. The wattage level is used to adjust the volume. Do not set it to 8ohm unless you’re planning on using two satellite speakers (or less) per channel.
To remove the back cover and access the wattage controls, unscrew the knob on the back. Then the back panel can be removed. When reattaching the back panel, make sure it’s oriented properly, or it may not fit.
Subwoofer
When you’ve decided on a subwoofer location, you’re ready to dig a hole. Refer to the following dimensions to determine the size of the hole:
OSUB8: 16” diameter, 14” deep OSUB10: 20” diameter, 18” deep OSUB12: 22” diameter, 18” deep
Use loose dirt to pad the area around where the subwoofer will be. The subwoofer shouldn’t be in contact with large rocks or large empty holes.
Using the pipe clamp, attach the pipe to the subwoofer.
Do not li the subwoofer by holding the port tube as this could damage the subwoofer. We’ve provided straps on the subwoofer to help li and lower it into hole. Arrange is so when it’s buried, the bottom of the cap is about 4” above the ground.

Bundle all three of the positive wires (the wire from the amplifier, the wire to the first satellite speaker, and the wire to the rest of the satellite speakers) together and connect them with the first wire nut. Then do the same for all the negative wires.
You will need a wire that has at least two conductors; one that can be identified as the positive and the other as the negative. All two conductor wires have some means of identifying which conductor is which, but at times this identification may be subtle. It’s crucial that you keep track of which wire you use for positive (+) and negative (-). Typically if the wires are colored red and black, the red wire is used for positive and the black wire is used for negative. You can choose whichever color of wire you want to be positive and negative as long as you remain consistent throughout the install.
On both your amplifier and your satellite speaker the connectors will be identified as red for positive and black for negative. It is very important to look carefully at the speaker wires and be certain that the same wire that is attached to the positive connector in the amplifier is attached to the positive connector in the speaker.
About Speaker Wire
Wiring
Dig a 5” trench where you plan on laying out the wire. Run the wire from the amplifier to your first satellite speaker location.
Using waterproof wire nuts (included), connect the wire to the first satellite speaker or subwoofer, using the following diagram as reference:
To Satellite
Speaker
From
Amplifier
To Remaining
Speakers
DO NOT connect the amplifier to AC power before all the satellite speakers and subwoofer are connected. DO NOT connect the satellite speaker wire to the amplifier before all other connections have been made. Failure to do so may create a shock hazard. DO NOT let any stray (+) and (-) strands to come in contact with each other. This could damage your amplifier.
WARNING
Continue connecting the satellite speakers and subwoofer(s) together like this. The final satellite speaker or subwoofer will be at the end of the chain, so you’ll only need to bundle two wires together. Alternatively, if you want to wire satellite speakers on one channel and subwoofers on the other, you can use a Crown amplifier with Origin’s custom DSP for landscape speakers. For more information, please look at the Instructions and Datasheets section on our website.
If a satellite speaker is located far from the main wire in the trench, you may need to use an additional length of wire between the satellite speaker and trench. This situation is most likely to occur if the satellite speaker is in a tree or on a wall.
Connect the wires to the amplifier.
Connect your music playing device and test the system. If everything is working properly, fill all the holes and trenches.

Phone: (844) 674-4461 Hours of operation: 8:00am - 5:00pm (Pacific Time), Mon - Fri Email: techsupport@originacoustics.com
If you are having technical trouble, please include the model number and briefly explain what steps you took to resolve the problem in your email or be prepared to answer these questions over the phone. If you are considering returning the product, it’s required that you contact Origin Acoustics prior to any return attempts. This way we can determine if the issue can be resolved without returning the product or, if needed, we can provide instructions and support for the return process.
If possible, it’s oen good to try to isolate the problem first. For example, if you’re playing a DVD on a television and there’s no sound, try connecting an MP3 player to the system to see if that works. If it does work, then the problem is with the television, DVD player, or the cables connecting them. If it doesn’t work, the problem will be with the amplifier, speakers, or those cables.
Problem Possible Cause
No Sound
The volume may be turned down or muted. Check the volume settings on both the amplifier and the television/computer/CD player/etc.
Make sure the proper source is selected on the amplifier or receiver.
Check the cord connecting the amplifier with the source. The cord may be damaged or plugged into the wrong input or output.
Check the wires connecting the amplifier with the satellite speakers. Make sure they’re connected properly and not damaged in any way.
Poor Sound Quality
Check to make sure all your satellites and amplifier are set to the appropriate setting. 70v or when using 2 satellite speakers ONLY per channel, 8ohm
If you hear something like static, or the sound is cutting in and out, check the audio cables. If the problem increases when a cable is being moved, then the cable is most likely faulty or not connected properly.
Today’s audio systems may have several places to adjust the volume, for example your MP3 player may have a volume control, and your amplifier may also have one. Check to be certain that the volume isn’t turned up past 80% on any device.
Try changing sources to be certain that the selection you’ve chosen is a good quality recording.
