 お使いになる前に

製品の取り扱いは、適切な資格を有する人が行なってください。
お使いになる前に、「安全上のご注意」をよくお読みのうえ、正
しくお使いください。
この製品は、一般的な産業機器の機器組み込み用として設計
されています。その他の用途には使用しないでください。この
警告を無視した結果生じた損害の補償については、当社は一
切その責任を負いませんので、あらかじめご了承ください。

 規格・CE マーキング

この製品は、UL 規格、CSA 規格の認証を取得し、EN 規格にも
とづいて CE マーキング（低電圧指令）を実施しています。

かかる場所、可燃物のそばでは使用しないでください。火災・感
電・けがの原因になります。

 設置、接続、運転・操作、点検・故障診断の作業は、適切な資

格を有する人が行なってください。火災・感電・けがの原因にな
ります。

 通電状態で移動、設置、接続、点検の作業をしないでください。

電源を切ってから作業してください。感電の原因になります。

 過熱保護装置（サーマルプロテクタ）がはたらいたときは、電源

を切ってください。過熱保護装置が自動復帰したときにファンが

お買い上げいただきありがとうございます。

この取扱説明書には、製品の取り扱いかたや安全上の注意事項を示
しています。
・ 取扱説明書をよくお読みになり、製品を安全にお使いください。
・ お読みになったあとは、いつでも見られるところに必ず保管してくださ

い。

 ファンは、クラスⅠ機器のみに使用してください。感電の原因に

なります。

 ファンは筐体内に設置してください。感電・けがの原因になります。
 設置するときは、ファンに手が触れないようにするか、接地して

ください。感電の原因になります。

 電源入力電圧は、定格範囲を必ず守ってください。火災・感電

の原因になります。

 接続は接続図にもとづき、確実に行なってください。火災・感電

の原因になります。

 ケーブルを無理に曲げたり、引っ張ったり、はさみ込んだりしな

いでください。火災の原因になります。

 停電したときは、電源を切ってください。停電復旧時にファンが

突然起動して、けが・装置破損の原因になります。

 ファンを分解・改造しないでください。感電・けがの原因になりま

す。内部の点検や修理は、お買い上げになった支店または営
業所に連絡してください。

 ファンの仕様値を超えて使用しないでください。感電・けが・装置

破損の原因になります。

 ファンの開口部に指や物を入れないでください。けがの原因に

なります。

 運転中および停止後しばらくの間は、モーター部に触れないでく

ださい。モーター部の表面が高温のため、やけどの原因になり
ます。

 ファンの回転部（ランナー）、リード線を持たないでください。けが

の原因になります。

 ファンの周囲には、可燃物を置かないでください。火災・やけど

の原因になります。

 ファンの周囲には、通風を妨げる障害物を置かないでください。

装置破損の原因になります。

 運転中は回転部（ランナー）に触れないでください。けがの原因

になります。保護のため、オプションのフィンガーガードを使用し
てください。

 異常が発生したときは、ただちに電源を切ってください。火災・

感電・けがの原因になります。

 ファンは、正常な運転状態でも、モーター部の表面温

度が 70 ℃を超えることがあります。運転中のファン
に接近できるときは、図の警告ラベルをはっきり見え
る位置に貼ってください。やけどの原因になります。

 ファンを廃棄するときは、できるだけ分解し、産業廃棄物として

処理してください。

突然起動して、けが・装置破損の原因になります。

製品が正しいか、製品の銘板に記載された品名で確認してく
ださい。
違っている場合や破損している場合は、お買い求めの支店・営
業所までご連絡ください。

設 置

 設置場所

ファンは機器組み込み用に設計、製造されています。
風通しがよく、点検が容易な次のような場所に設置してくださ
い。

• 屋内に設置された筐体内（換気口を設けてください）

• 使用周囲温度

• 使用周囲湿度 85％以下（結露しないこと）

• 爆発性雰囲気、有害なガス（硫化ガスなど）、および液体の

ないところ

• 直射日光が当たらないところ

• 塵埃や鉄粉などの少ないところ

• 水（雨や水滴）、油（油滴）、およびその他の液体がかからな

いところ

• 連続的な振動や過度の衝撃が加わらないところ

• 放射性物質や磁場がなく、真空でないところ

• 電磁ノイズ（溶接機、動力機器など）が少ないところ

スイッチング回路や高周波電源の近くで使用すると、電磁ノ
イズ（伝導ノイズ、放射ノイズ）の影響で、ファンの内部に誘導
電流が流れる場合があります。誘導電流が流れると、ファン
の軸受けに電食が発生し、異常音や寿命低下の原因になり
ます。電磁ノイズの影響がない環境で使用してください。

 設置方法

ファンは耐振動性にすぐれ、熱伝導効果が高い平滑な金属板
に設置してください。
総合カタログの取付穴参考寸法図をもとに、使用する機器に取
付穴をあけて、ファンをねじ（付属していません）で固定してくだ
さい。ねじサイズは M4、締付トルクは 1.4 N·m です。

拘束時の焼損保護

サーマルプロテクタ方式を採用しています。規定の温度になる
と、内蔵サーマルプロテクタ（自動復帰型）がはたらきファンは
停止します。点検するときは、必ず電源を切ってください。

OPERATING MANUAL

Cross Flow Fans MF Series

Thank you for purchasing an Oriental Motor product.
This Operating Manual describes product handling procedures
and safety precautions.

• Please read it thoroughly to ensure safe operation.

• Always keep the manual where it is readily available.

Introduction

 Before using the fan

Only qualified personnel should work with the product.
Use the product correctly after thoroughly reading the section
“Safety precautions”.
The product described in this manual has been designed and
manufactured for use in general industrial machinery, and must
not be used for any other purpose. Oriental Motor Co., Ltd. is
not responsible for any damage caused through failure to
observe this warning.

bears the CE Marking (Low Voltage Directive) in compliance
with the EN Standards.

Safety precautions

The precautions described below are intended to prevent danger
or injury to the user and other personnel through safe, correct
use of the product. Use the product only after carefully reading
and fully understanding these instructions.

Warning

Handling the product without observing the instructions that
accompany a “Warning” symbol may result in serious injury or
death.

 Do not use the product in explosive or corrosive

environments, in the presence of flammable gases,
locations subjected to splashing water, or near combustibles.
Doing so may result in fire, electric shock or injury.

 Assign qualified personnel the task of installing, wiring,

operating/controlling, inspecting and troubleshooting the product.
Failure to do so may result in fire, electric shock or injury.

 Do not transport, install the product, perform connections or

inspections when the power is on. Always turn the power off
before carrying out these operations. Failure to do so may
result in electric shock.

 Turn off the power in the event the overheat protection

device (thermal protector) is triggered. Failure to do so may
result in injury or damage to equipment, since the fan will
start abruptly when the overheat protection device (thermal
protector) is automatically reset.

 To prevent the risk of electric shock, use the fan for class I

equipment only.

 Install the fan in an enclosure in order to prevent electric

shock or injury.

 Install the fan so as to avoid contact with hands, or ground

it to prevent the risk of electric shock.

 Keep the input-power voltage within the specified range to

avoid fire and electric shock.

 Connect the cables securely according to the wiring

diagram in order to prevent fire and electric shock.

 Do not forcibly bend, pull or pinch the cable. Doing so may

fire and electric shock.

 Turn off the power in the event of a power failure, or the fan

will suddenly start when the power is restored and may
cause injury or damage to equipment.

 Do not disassemble or modify the fan. This may cause

electric shock or injury. Refer all such internal inspections
and repairs to the branch or sales office from which you
purchased the product.

Caution

Handling the product without observing the instructions that
accompany a “Caution” symbol may result in injury or property
damage.

 Do not use the fan beyond its specifications, or electric

shock, injury or damage to equipment may result.

 Keep your fingers and objects out of the openings in the fan.

This may cause injury.

 Do not touch the motor during operation or immediately

after stopping. The surface is hot and may cause a skin
burn(s).

 Do not hold the rotating parts (impeller) of the fan or lead

wire. This may cause injury.

 Keep the area around the fan free of combustible materials

in order to prevent fire or a skin burn(s).

 To prevent the risk of damage to equipment, leave nothing

around the fan that would obstruct ventilation.

 Do not touch the rotating parts (impeller) when the fan is in

operation. This may cause injury. The use of the optional
fingerguard is recommended to ensure protection.

 When an abnormality is noted, stop the operation

immediately, or fire, electric shock or injury may occur.

 The motor’s surface temperature may exceed

70 °C (158 °F), even under normal operating
conditions. If a fan is accessible during
operation, post the warning label shown in the
figure in a conspicuous position to prevent the

risk of skin burn(s).

 To dispose of the fan, disassemble it into parts and

components as much as possible and dispose of individual
parts/components as industrial waste.

Preparation

To verify that the unit you've purchased is the correct one, check
the model number shown on the identification plate.
Report any incorrect or damaged item to the branch or sales
office from which you purchased the product.

Installation

 Location for installation

The fan is designed and manufactured for installation in
equipment.
Install it in a well-ventilated location that provides easy access
for inspection. The location must also satisfy the following
conditions:

• Inside an enclosure that is installed indoors (provide vent holes)

• Operating ambient temperature

10 to +60 °C (+14 to +140 °F) (non-freezing)

• Operating ambient humidity 85%, maximum
(non-condensing)

• Area that is free of explosive atmosphere or toxic gas (such as
sulfuric gas) or liquid

• Area not exposed to direct sun

• Area free of excessive amount of dust, iron particles or the

like

• Area not subject to splashing water (rain, water droplets), oil
(oil droplets) or other liquids

• Area not subject to continuous vibration or excessive shocks

• Area free of radioactive materials, magnetic fields or vacuum

• Area free of excessive electromagnetic noise (from welders,

power machinery, etc.)
When using near a switching circuit or high-frequency power
supply, the induced current may flow inside the fan due to
electromagnetic noise (conductive noise, radiative noise). If
the induced current flows, the electric corrosion is caused in
the bearings of the fan. As a result, it may generate the noise
or shorten the service life of the products. Use the fan in the
environment that the electromagnetic noise does not cause.

 How to install the fan

Install the fan onto an appropriate flat metal plate having
excellent vibration resistance and heat conductivity.
See the panel cut-out, mounting-hall reference drawing for
information on how to provide mounting holes on the equipment
used and secure the fan with screws (not supplied).
The screw size is M4 and the tightening torque is 1.4 N·m
(12.4 lb-in).

Overheat protection

The fan uses a thermal protector for overheat protection. Once
the temperature reaches a specified level, the internal thermal
protector that has an automatic-return feature is triggered to stop
the fan operation. Be sure to turn off the power when checking
the thermal protector.
Operating temperature of thermal protectors

Open (Power OFF).....120±5 °C (248±9 °F)

Close (Power ON).......77±15 °C (170±27 °F)
