Connecting and charging
Your toothbrush has a waterproof handle, is electrically safe and is designed for use in the bathroom.
• Plug the charging unit (e) into an
electrical outlet and place the toothbrush handle (c) on the charging unit.
• The green charge indicator (d) light
flashes while the handle is being charged. If you then use your brush and place it back on the charging unit, the green charging light will again flash to let you know it is charging.
• When the handle is fully charged, the
green charge indicator light shines continuously. A full charge takes at least 16 hours and enables approximately two weeks of regular brushing
(twice a day, 2 minutes)
.
• The red charge indicator (d) light
starts blinking when the rechargeable battery is low. Now it is time to recharge your toothbrush.
• For everyday use, the toothbrush
handle can be stored on the charging unit to maintain it at full power. Overcharging is impossible.
• To maintain the maximum capacity of
the rechargeable battery, unplug the charging unit and fully discharge the handle by regular use at least every 6 months.

Ultimate Plaque Removal
For cleaner teeth and healthier gums, Oral-B Professional Care gently cleans in areas where plaque bacteria can collect. It removes up to 97 % of plaque from hard-to-reach areas and is gentle on teeth and gums.
Brushing technique:
• Guide the brushhead slowly from tooth to tooth.
• Hold the brushhead in place for a few seconds before moving on to the next tooth.
• Brush the gums as well as the teeth, first the outsides, then the insides, finally the chewing surfaces.
• Do not press too hard or scrub, simply let the brush do all the work.
Pressure Sensor For optimal brushing results Oral-B Professional Care has a pressure
control feature to help you brush gently. This helps protect your gums from excessive brushing and makes your toothbrush easy to operate. If too much pressure is applied, the oscillating movement of the brushhead will continue but the pulsation will stop. In addition to feeling it, you can also hear a different sound.
Professional Timer
A short stuttering sound at 30-second intervals, which you can hear and feel, reminds you to brush the four quadrants of your mouth equally for a better overall clean.
2-Minute Timer
A long stuttering sound indicates when the professionally recommended 2-minute brushing time has been reached.
Both timers memorize the elapsed brushing time, even when the handle is briefly switched off during brushing. Only when pausing longer than 30 sec. the timer resets to the initial starting point.

In the first few days of using any electric toothbrush, your gums may bleed slightly. This is usually a sign of pre-existing gum inflammation. Using your toothbrush properly should reduce inflammation and as a result bleeding should stop after a few days. Should it persist after 2 weeks, please consult your dentist or hygienist. If you have sensitive teeth and gums, Oral-B recommends using the «Sensitive» mode.
Individual brushheads and accessories
The Oral-B Professional Care offers you a variety of brushheads and accessories, allowing you to select those which best meet your individual needs. They are all designed for daily use:
1 Oral-B Precision Clean brushhead
The Oral-B Precision Clean brushhead features our superior oscillating and pulsating action to effectively clean your teeth, clean along the gumline and in hard-to-reach areas such as behind teeth. The compact round brushhead surrounds each tooth for a thorough clean. The green Precision Clean bristles bend, enabling both gentle brushing and deep reach of the blue Interdental Tips between teeth. Apply the brushing technique as described in the section «Ultimate Plaque Removal».
2 Oral-B Sensitive brushhead (not with all models) The Oral-B Sensitive brushhead provides thorough cleaning for sensitive teeth and gums. It has an extra soft bristle texture that is gentle on teeth and gums. Apply the same brushing technique as described in the section «Ultimate Plaque Removal».
9
3 Oral-B® Pro White™ brushhead (not with all models) The Oral-B Pro White brushhead is specifically designed to polish and whiten your teeth by removing stains that can come from coffee, tea and tobacco. It features the oscillating and pulsating head action of the Oral-B Precision Clean brushhead to effectively clean teeth, combined with the special polishing cup for effective brightening. Apply the same brushing technique as described in the section «Ultimate Plaque Removal». We do not recommend using the Oral-B Pro White brushhead with braces. Children under 12 should not use the Oral-B Pro White brushhead.
4 Oral-B
®
Dual Clean™ brushhead
(not with all models) The Oral-B Dual Clean brushhead offers two types of cleaning motion in one. It combines the oscillating and pulsating motion with an additional side-to-side motion, for more cleaning action. The oscillating motion stimulates gums while removing plaque and bacteria. Multi-angled bristles clean between teeth and along the gumline. With this brushhead you can either move from tooth to tooth or apply the same brushing technique as with any manual toothbrush.
All four brushheads feature blue INDICATOR® bristles to help you monitor brushhead replacement need. With thorough brushing, twice a day for two minutes, the blue color will fade halfway within 3 months, signaling it is time to change the brushhead.
5 Power Tip® (not with all models)
The Power Tip is designed for cleaning between teeth as well as around bridges, crowns and implants. To use, position the brushhead at a 45 degree angle to the gumline. Slowly guide the brushhead along the gumline, pausing between teeth for optimal results.
10
6 Tongue Freshener (not with all models) The Tongue Freshener helps freshen breath. It is designed to help remove odor-causing bacteria from the tongue and can be used everyday – before or after brushing. You can use mouthwash with the Tongue Freshener. Attach it to the handle, turn the appliance on and drag it across the tongue from back to front. We recommend using the «Sensitive» mode for enhanced control during use. Rinse after use. Replace the Tongue Freshener when the material becomes worn.
Oral-B Professional Care replacement brushheads and accessories are available in stores that sell Oral-B products, at the Essentials.com web site and at Oral-B Braun Service Centers.
Cleaning recommendations
• After brushing, rinse your brushhead or accessory thoroughly under running water for several seconds with the handle switched on.
• Switch off the handle and remove the brushhead or accessory from the handle. Clean both parts separately under running water, then wipe them dry before you reassemble the brush and put the handle on the charging unit.
• From time to time, also clean the charging unit and the brushhead compartment (D 19.565.3 X, D 19.545.3 X, D 19.535.2 only) with a damp cloth.
• For cleaning purposes, the brushhead compartment (D 19.565.3 X, D 19.545.3 X, D 19.535.2 only) is removable.
