Health & Safety precautions
Before using, the equipment please read the Health & Safety precautions, manufacturers’ recommendations and the operating manual.
The operating manual should be available at all times for the operator to read.
The equipment can only be used in accordance with the specifications in the user guide/manual.
= should be installed on a sturdy and level surface near a 220 to 240 Volts AC 50 Hz. socket.
= the socket should be earthed in accordance with electrical regulations.
= must be protected against moisture and dust.
Do not put the equipment near heating or ventilation units.
The equipment must not be used in or near a room with inflammable liquids or gases.
Do not use the equipment near aerosols with, oil or grease made from petroleum or inflammable substances.
Do not use compressed air from an aerosol for clearing the shredder it could have inflammable gases.
The power supply cable should be protected against being damaged and not be used to pull the equipment or to
remove the plug from the power socket.
Unplug the equipment from the power socket when removing the cover or cleaning the inside.
The equipment should be KEPT AWAY and out of reach of children and animal’s.
Danger! Equipment contains rotary elements. KEEP AWAY from, long hair, loose jewellery, ties and other loose
pieces of clothing as they can become entangled in the cutting heads.
Be careful when feeding material into the slots.
When the motor overheats, it will turn off without a signal, turn off the main switch of the shredder immediately and wait for it to cool down!
Do not put any heavy objects on the device!
When any malfunction occurs, check that the equipment is being used correctly and then contact the dealer or
service point.
The equipment must not be put or kept outside and should be operated in a room temperatures higher than +8°C.
The equipment should be operated in accordance with the general Health & Safety rules.
Any repairs must be carried out by authorised staff during the guarantee / warranty period.
After using the shredder, it must be turned off by the main switch on the equipment or by unplugging it from the power socket.
Recommendations and requirements
The equipment was designed for shredding paper, CD and credit cards only. Do not shred other materials
During longer none operation, the mains switch should be turned “OFF’ and unplugged
Empty the shredded waste from the bin frequently
Before shredding, you must remove paper clips from the documents
The shredder can only be operated with the original paper bin supplied
To ensure long and faultless utilisation of the machine do not shred more than 18 sheets of 80g/m². Do not shred
computer printout paper, PVC foil, coated paper, card or cardboard – it can blunt the blades and cause damage to the cutting mechanism
The shredder is able to deal with light staples and paper clips
NOTE! Not compliance with the recommendations above can result with,
the guarantee/warranty being made void.

Equipment configuration
1 – Feeding slot for paper 2 – Feeding slot for CD, credit card
and disks 3 – Power supply diode (green) When shredder is plugged and main
switch is in „|” position, green diode is on – shredder is ready to work.
4 – overheated motor diode (red) When shredder works too long,
temperature of engine will increase too much. The red diode will light.
5 – REV (reverse jammed paper from feeding slot)
6 – FWD (knives will rotate forward) 7 – waste bin 8 – housing 9 – castors 10 – supply cable 11 – main switch „I” – the sredder is on
„0” – the shredder is off

Operation:
Machine should be placed on sturdy and level surface.
Before plugging in the machine, ensure that the main switch is in “0” position.
Set the main switch in „I” position stand-by light turns on.
Insert paper into the feed opening. NOTE! Paper should be put in the middle of the slot. The machine starts
automatically after inserting the paper. Max paper width is 230mm. If the pages are wider, cut or fold them to smaller format. Shredder capacity is 18 sheets of 80 g/m² paper.
The machine shreds also Plastic cards, CDs and floppy disco – there are special slot for these materials. Max shredder capacity is 1 CD, 1 plastic cards or 1 floppy disc. Do not shred paper and CDs (plastic cards, floppy discs) at one time. Do not insert CD, cards and floppy discs into the feed opening and paper into the slot for CDs, cards and floppy discs.
Set the main switch in „0” position when shredding is finished
If too many pages of paper is inserted into the slot, it may cause paper jam inside the cutting blades. Pull out stuck
paper and press “FWD” switch to shred paper scraps or press “REV” switch to remove stuck paper from the slot. If it will not solve the problem, contact service team
Cleaning:
Before clearing the shredder ensure that the main switch is set in “0” position and the machine is unplugged from the mains socket. When the shred bin is overfilled, it may cause problems with putting paper into the feed opening. Pull the bin out, remove shreds and install the basket in the shredder. Cleaning of the housing – wipe the cover of the shredder with gentile detergent or wet piece of clothing. Do not put machine into the water. Do not wipe the unit with benzene, alcohol or solvents they can cause durable cover damage

Before maintaining the shredder, ensure that the machine is unplugged from the mains socket
To prevent reduction of efficiency and increase of sound level as well as to prolong machine lifespan, it is
necessary to oil cutting blades regularly.
After filling the waste bin for several times., the blades should be greased with special oil (provided by OPUS). Put the oil on few pieces of paper and shred them so that the oil was spread on the whole cutting mechanism
Possible malfunctions:
Malfunction Cause Remedy
Equipment does not start after
inserting paper into the slot
1. Shredder is not plug in properly
2. Pages to be shred are too soft
3. Overheating
4. Paper jam
5. The basket is not fitted properly
1. Plug the equipment in correctly
2. Fold pages or insert more paper in the feed opening
3. Turn off the shredder, wait about 30 minutes Turn on once again
4. Remove stuck paper
5. Install shred bin correctly
Equipment does not stop after shredding
Photo cell in the entry slot is covered by scraps of paper
Clean the photo cell
The shredder operates too loud
Equipment is not on sturdy and level floor
Place the machine on study and level surface and lock front wheels
The shredder does not operate correctly
1. Too many pages inserted into the feed opening
2. Too big a paper format
3. Paper is not inserted in the centre of feed opening
1. Reduce number of pages inserted to the slot at one time
2. Switch to REV button to remove paper and insert folded pages once again
3. Insert paper in the middle of the feed opening
