1.INTRODUCTION
1.1 Acknowledgements
Thank you for purchasing the outdoor UPS produced by OPTI-UPS.
This product will provide the best protection for your equipment. Th is
manual provides instructions on the installation and operation of this
UPS. You will also find important safety instructions in this manual
and we strongly recommend you to follow them carefully. If there are
any problems, please refer to the trouble-shooting guide in Chapter 9
before contacting OPTI-UPS.
CAUTION:
z You need to carefully read this manu al before ever using the UPS for
the first time. You will need to install, operate, maintain, and store
this UPS according to the in structions given in this manua l.
z Keep this manual for future reference.
z Keep all of the packaging materials to protect the UPS in case you
would need to transport it. Warranty will not cover UPS damaged from
inadequate packaging.
1.2 Working Principle
The UPS is designed to protect your equipment from power disturbances.
The UPS filters power line noises and surges, while at the same time it
charges the batteries. It regulates the voltage by automatically
adjusting the output to a safe level when the incoming voltage is either
too high or too low. In case of power outage, the UPS will derive power
from the batteries allowing continuous operation of your equipment(s)
and when the electricity returns, the UPS will automatically shift the
load to the utility power and starts to recharge the batteries.
2
1.3 Features
z The advanced charging loop design helps to prolong the life of the
batteries and ensures that the batteries are fully ch arged.
z Equipment overload can be detected by UPS while it is working in
normal or battery mode.
z The fan will automatically start once the UPS internal temperature
rises to mainta in the cooling required by th e vital circuits of the UPS.
z Automatic voltage regulator, surge protection, back-up power source,
and noise filter.

4. Installation
4.1 Inspection
Please inspect UPS immediately for missing parts or other problems.
Should there be any damage, please notify the seller.
4.2 Installing the UPS Cabinet
z Electric pole installation: Anchor Ear Installation. Behind the UPS
cabinet are 2 installation poles. Please pick the size of the installation
poles that you will need.
z H-pole installation: Fastening Screw Installation. Below the UPS
cabinet are 2 installation poles. The UPS is placed on th e H-pole, and
four fastening screws are used to fix the UPS cab inet.
z Wall installation: Expanding Screws plus A-Frame Installation. The
expanding screws are fixed on the wall according to the distance of
four installation holes. Then the A-frame will be installed and
fastened on the 2 in stallation poles below the UP S cabinet.
7
z Ground installation: Expanding Screws Installation. The expanding
screws are fixed on the ground according to the distance of four
installation holes. Then the UPS machine cabinet will be installed and
fastened on it.
4.3 Connecting the Power Supply
CAUTION:Please operate strictly according to the following steps!
This is to ensure personal safety and longevity of
equipment.
WARNING: The switch on UPS is used to control the battery supply,
but not the utility supply and the UPS output. The utility input
is controlled by an additional external air circuit breaker. If
z HIGHLY RECOMMEND: No matter which installation method is
used, keep the UPS cabinet hor izontal.
8
you want to do maintenance inside the equipment, you must
first turn off the external air circuit breaker to disconnect the
utility input power supply. Also, turn off the inverter and the
battery connection inside the unit.
1. Inspect the external air circuit breaker connected to the UPS input
terminal and the internal RESET switch to ensure that they are off.
2. Open the UPS cabinet door. Pull the utility AC input cables into the
line hole on the bottom of the UPS cabinet, and connect it according
to the marker on the terminal block;
3. Pull the AC output cables into the line ho le on the bottom of the UPS
cabinet , and connect it according to the marker on the terminal block.
(The input and output cables need to be pulled through different
line holes and connected separately).
4. Place the battery into the ma chine cabinet. Connect the red and black
battery cables, to the positive and negative poles on the battery,
respectively. Ensure that they are tightly fixed. The inverter of this
UPS has two working voltages, 12VDC and 24VDC. Make sure that
the voltage is correct before finalizing the connection.
9
5. Check each connection on the battery terminals to make sure that they
are tight and correct. Also check to see whether the input and output
cables are not interchanged, and last, check to see tha t the voltage is
correct.
6. Turn on both the external air circuit breaker and internal reset switch
to connect the UPS to the utility power. Then press the power on
button longer than 1 second. After the UPS is on, check to see if the
output voltage and frequency is correct.
7. To see if the output voltage, frequency and panel displays are all
working correctly. Please turn on and off the utility input power
several times.
8. To shut down the UPS, hold the power off button longer than 3
seconds.
9. Make sure to connect the load only after switching off the external
input air circuit breaker to ensure that the UPS is isolated from the utility
power.
9. Repeat step 6.
10. Turn on the load switch.
11. Repeat step 7.
12. Close and tightly lock the UPS cabinet door after making sure that
the UPS and load are working normally;
RECOMMEND:Please remember to keep the key for future
usage.

6.MAINTENANCE
6.1Maintenance
z Keep the UPS in an upright position.
z Inspect on a regular basis whether screw s are loose.
z It is recommended that the UPS be installed in a ventilated area. It
will help to prolong the life of the battery.
z When changing the batteries, it is recommended to use batteries that
have the same specifications.
z A regular maintenance check is required when there is no power
failure for a long time. The utility input power should be turned off
purposely to discharge the batteries (the discharge period depends on
the load and the batteries). Restore the utility input to charge the
batteries for no fewer than 6 hours each time. When the temperature
is lower than 30℃, discharge the batteries every 3 months; when the
temperature is higher than 30℃, discharge every 2 months.
6.2 Storage
z Store the unit in a dry environment.
z The temperature should be lower than 50℃, and the humidity not
more than 90% .
z Charge the batteries for at least 6 hours before storage to keep it full.
z Disconnect the cables connecting the UPS circuit and the battery
before storage.
z Batteries must be recharged after being stored for more than 3 mon ths
and every three months thereaf ter.
