Section 1 - System Requirements
This section provides the water, electrical and space requirements for the systems. Pay
special attention to the feedwater chemistry requirements. Operating a system on water
supplies outside of these parameters may lead to premature membrane failure.
All installations of the OptiPure, as in any plumbing installation, require adherence to
local codes, and in their absence, national codes.
Operating Parameters:
Operating Pressure 10 - 60 psi* (0.7-4.1 bar)
Feed Temperature 40 - 100o F (4 - 38o C)
Feed Pressure 25 - 75 psi (1.4 - 5.9 bar) at 3 gpm maximum
OPM80 Production 100 gal. (378 L) /day, Max. at 77°F feedwater temp.
62 gal. (235 L) /day, Max. at 55°F feedwater temp.
OPM150 Production 200 gal. (756 L) /day, Max. at 77ºF feedwater temp.
116 gal. (439 L) /day, Max. at 55ºF feedwater temp.
*The maximum operating pressure of the system is 100 psi (6.89 bar)
WARNING!
The OptiPure W-Series is equipped with a pre-charged pressure tank that has an air
charge of 10 psi (0.7 bar) when no water is in the tank. The tank pressure will build as
the tank fills and compresses the air. Do not remove air tank valve without draining tank
of all water.
Environmental Conditions
The OptiPure W-Series is certified to operate under the following conditions:
• Altitude up to 2000 m.
•
Ambient temperature of 5-40 degrees C.
•
Max relative humidity 80% at 31 degrees C.
•
Main supply voltage not to exceed +/- 10%.
•
Installation category II
Explanation of Symbols:
The following symbols are used on the OptiPure. The symbols and their explanation is
given below:

Feed Water Connection:
An adequate flow of water to the unit is critical for successful operation. Run at least
1/2” pipe to the vicinity of the installation. Install a full-flow ball valve with 1/2”
female pipe thread for connection to the installation hardware provided with the
OptiPure™ system or use garden hose thread adapter to connect to hose bibb.
Drain:
Drain must allow for a minimum of 3 gal. (11.4 L) per minute, and must comply with
local plumbing codes. Most plumbing codes require the installation of an approved air
gap in the drain line.
Electrical Requirements: 115VAC, 60 Hz or 220 VAC Supply, 50 Hz,
2.0A 53W - Note:
power supply line is 24 VAC. (Check serial number plate or transformer for correct
primary voltage).
All voltage after the power step-down transformer located in the
Feedwater Chemistry:
Feed TDS Up to 2000 ppm Iron (Fe) .1 mg/l maximum
Feed pH 5 - 11 Turbidity <5 NTU
Hardness 20 grains or less Manganese .05 mg/l
Free Chlorine <2 mg/l Hydrogen sulfide 0.0
A water analysis must be performed before installing the system. The information
requested above can be obtained from your local water utility. If your water analysis
shows that any of these parameters are not within range, additional pretreatment
and/or higher frequency of maintenance may be required. Contact Procam Controls,
Inc. for assistance. The presence of silica or flocculants such as alum or cationic
polymers in the feedwater may cause membrane fouling and may require chemical
pretreatment or periodic membrane replacement. Please note that membrane failure
due to fouling is not covered by the warranty.
