Optimus 2-Way Truck Speakers (120-1751) Features Faxback Doc. # 40068
Your Optimus 10" 2-Way Truck Speakers are specially designed to provide deep, clean sound inside or outside your pickup truck or recreational vehicle. They are designed to be connected to your vehicle's stereo system and are specially shaped to fit behind the seat of a pickup truck. Their rugged, portable design lets you enjoy music on the road or at picnics and cook-outs. With these versatile speakers, you can have music everywhere you drive your vehicle. You can also connect extended speaker wires so you can use the speakers outside the vehicle at outdoor events.
Your 10" 2-Way Truck Speakers are designed for vehicle stereo systems of 5 watts or more per channel. For the best performance, we recommend you use a high-power amplifier (at least 50 watts) or an equalizer/booster with this speaker. Your local RadioShack store carries a wide selection of power amplifiers, equalizer/boosters, and speaker wire.
Your speakers have these advanced features.
Portable Design - lets you use the speakers inside or outside your vehicle.
10-Inch Paper Woofer - provides smooth bass response with minimum distortion.
Piezo-Ceramic Tweeter - provides high quality treble response.
Caution: Do not let the speakers get wet.

Note: Speaker wires are usually color-coded or otherwise marked to indicate polarity. Be sure to connect the wire from the amplifier's + (positive) output to the speaker's + terminal, and the amplifier's
- (negative) output to the speaker's - terminal. If you reverse these connections, bass response is greatly reduced.
Follow these steps to connect your speakers to your amplifier or equalizer/ booster.
1. Connect the amplifier to your stereo system as described in your amplifier and autosound system's owner's manuals.
2. Cut the speaker cable to the necessary length and separate the wires about 4 inches on each end.
3. Strip about 1/2 inch of insulation from the wire ends and twist the wire ends.
4. Connect the speaker wires to the amplifier's output terminals.
5. For each speaker wire, hold down one of the speaker's grooved INPUT terminal tabs and insert a speaker wire's bare end into the hole (connecting + to + and - to -). Then release the terminal tab.
