INSTALLATION MANUAL – Indoor/Outdoor Wall Plate Kit

Unpacking

Unpack carefully. This is mechanical equipment and should
be handled with care. If an item appears to have been
damaged in shipment, replace it properly in its carton and
notify the shipper. If any items are missing, notify the
vendor. The shipping carton is the safest container in which
the unit may be transported. Save it for possible future use.

Service

If the unit ever needs repair service, the customer should
contact the vendor for a return materials authorization (RMA)
and shipping instructions.

Care and Maintenance

Perform routine maintenance to keep the unit dust free.

Model Designation

2020-PLT Indoor/Outdoor Wall Plate Kit

Description

The 2020-PLT is a plate for the RLS-2020 Laser Scan Detector
allowing the detector to be attached to a wall.

Certification

Scanner installation should be performed by a licensed
professional and conform to the National Electrical Code
(NEC) and any applicable local codes.

Hardware Kit
3 x 8-32 x 1/4" Screw, Pan Head Phillips
3 x #8 Flat Washer

Installation

1. Hold 2020-PLT up to installation surface and use as a

template to mark the cable opening and mounting hole
locations.

2. Drill out the mounting surface as needed to

accommodate cable opening and customer-supplied
fasteners and anchors (optional).

a. Customer-supplied fasteners should be flat head

screws with max diameter of 1/4” (0.250”).

Mounting fasteners should have a minimum 100-lbs
pull-out strength.

3. Attach 2020-PLT plate to installation surface using

customer-supplied fasteners.

4. Route cables to the installation site.

5. Remove RLS-2020 cover per instructions included with

that unit.

6. Make cable connections to RLS-2020 and attach to the

2020-PLT plate using fasteners included in the hardware
kit.

7. Replace cover on RLS-2020 to complete installation.
