In any case ventilation is deemed sucient when the pressure dierence between the external and internal environment is equal to or less than 4 Pa.
In the presence of type B gas appliances with intermittent operation not intended for heating, they must have their own aeration and/or ventilation opening. The air inlets must meet the following requirements:
 they must be protected with grids, metal mesh, etc., but without reducing the net useful section;  they must be made so as to make the maintenance operations possible;
 positioned so that they cannot be obstructed; The air ow can also be obtained from a room adjacent to that of installation (indirect aeration and ventilation), as long as the ow takes place freely through permanent openings communicating with the outside. The adjacent room cannot be used as a garage, warehouse of combustible material or for any other activity with a re hazard, bathroom, bedroom or common room of the building.
FUMES EXHAUST SYSTEM
GENERAL REQUIREMENTS
Each appliance must be connected to a suitable fumes exhaust system and ensure adequate dispersion of the combustion products into the atmosphere. The combustion products must discharged above the roof. Direct discharge from the wall or towards closed spaces is forbidden, even with clear skies. In particular, it is forbidden to use exible and extendible metal pipes. The chimney should only receive the exhaust of the smoke duct connected to the appliance; collective ues or conveying exhausts from hoods above cooking appliances of any kind, or exhausts from other generators into the chimney itself or smoke duct are not allowed. The smoke duct and the chimney must be connected with a continuity solution, in order to prevent the chimney from resting on the appliance. It is forbidden to have other air supply channels and pipes for plant engineering transit inside the fumes exhaust systems, especially if over-sized.
The components of the fumes exhaust system must be chosen in relation to the type of appliance to be installed in compliance with:
 in the event of metal chimneys, UNI/ TS 11278, with particular attention to what is stated in the specication;
 in the event of non-metallic chimneys: UNI EN 13063-1 and UNI EN 13063-2, UNI EN 1457, .-UNI EN 1806; considering

The outlet of a chimney/ducted system must not be near obstacles that may create turbulence areas and/or prevent proper expulsion of combustion products and maintenance operations to be carried out on the roof. Verify the presence of other chimney caps or skylights and dormers.
FUMES EXHAUST SYSTEM PRODUCT REQUIREMENTS
Temperature class
In the event of a pellet appliance, temperature classes below T200 are not allowed.
Soot re resistance class
The fumes exhaust system interlocked with appliances supplied by solid fuels require soot re resistance, and the specication must be indicated by the letter G followed by the distance from combustible materials in millimeters (XX) (in compliance with UNI EN 1443) .
In the event of pellet appliances, the fumes exhaust systems must be airtight; if double designation elements are used (G and O, with or without seal elastomer) for connecting the appliance to the chimney, one must comply with the minimum distance XX in millimeters, indicated for designation G; in the event of re due to soot, one must ensure the restoration of the initial conditions (by replacing the gaskets and damaged items and cleaning those remaining in use).
Ignition tests
Operation of the appliance must be veried with an ignition test, i.e.:
 for mechanical feed appliances, one must complete the ignition test, verify proper operation for at least the next 15
minutes and adjust the switch-o;
For appliances installed in a hot water heating system (closed replaces, thermo-stoves), testing must also extend to the entire hydraulic circuit.
COMBUSTION PRODUCTS OUTLET QUOTA
The outlet quota is determined by measuring the minimum height between the roof covering and the lower point of the fumes expulsion section into the atmosphere; this quota must be outside the reux area and at an adequate distance from obstacles which hinder or make the expulsion of the combustion products dicult or from openings or accessible areas.
Reux area The outlet quota must be outside the reux area calculated according to the indications below. Near the ridge one considers the lowest between the two.

Q9 DUCTED INSTALLATION
The insert is provided on an iron sliding base, which allows it to be installed in a pre-existing chimney. This sliding base allows to extract the insert easily both for loading the pellets inside the tank and for any maintenance or end of season cleaning. If there is not an existing chimney, one can be built using the insert-holder pedestal (optional kit); in fact, the latter xes the insert to the ground. Moreover, n°.3 extension frames are provided with the insert (6 cm) to allow the hot air that forms inside to escape and allow the chimney insert to be ventilated.
Description of components:
 Sliding base
 Track
 Smoke exhaust duct
 Primary air intake duct
 Current socket plug
 Frame
 Ducted air duct
ATTENTION BEFORE PROCEEDING WITH INSTALLATION, THE INSERT MUST BE CONFIGURED ON THE BASIS OF ENVISIONED USE:
 NON DUCTED (frontal hot air only)  DUCTED (possibility of diverting hot air into other rooms)
- If a ducted insert is used, remove the ducting pipe cap (see gure below: A,B) and the ducting block plate (see gure below: C).
- If a non ducted insert is used, remove the front air guard (see gure below: D,E).

ASSEMBLY WITH SLIDING BASE
Take the sliding base and position it in the existing chimney. Using a piece of chalk or pen, mark the base blocking holes on the surface of the chimney. Make holes for the 8 mm steel expansion plugs. Make a 60 mm hole in correspondence with the air vent.
ATTENTION
The air vent must be made outside the chimney because it must not take in overheated air.
Envision an air vent in the rear of the insert in a way that the plug is accessible once installation has been carried out. Fix the base via the locking screws. Create the connection of the smoke exhaust and the vent respecting the points described previously. Lift the insert via the relative handles on the sides (see Figure below A), tilt it in a way that the wheels insert inside the relative tracks, slide it until the smoke auger coupling is completely inserted into the smoke conveyor box.
Page 21

ENGLISH
When the insert has been inserted completely, turn the ap with the relevant wrench anti-clockwise in order to x it and restore it with the electric energy.
Proceed as follows to release and slide the insert out on the tracks, in the event of maintenance or pellet loading:
1. Open the door using the wrench provided, inserting it into the screw opening positioned in the bottom left (see Figure above);
2. Turn the ap clockwise. The insert is released from the base and the electric energy is cut-o at the same time;
3. At this point, it can be made to slide forward on the tracks to perform the maintenance interventions or pellet loading, using the wrench provided inserted in the relative slot in the area under the re pot (see Figure 3 - B). The insert can also be slid out completely from the guide tracks and extracted to maximum, lifting the front part and tilting it by about 30° (see drawing Figure 4);
4. To re-insert the insert, follow the procedure in reverse order, after having withdrawn and lifted it using the relevant handles present on the sides (see Figure 3 - A);
5. For the nal blockage, turn the ap with the relevant wrench anti-clockwise in order to x it and restore it with the electric energy.

1. Open the door using the wrench provided, inserting it into the screw opening positioned in the bottom left.
2. Turn the wrench clockwise. The insert is released from the base in this way
3. Slide the insert forward on the tracks: when it is extracted to maximum, lift the front part via the relevant handles and tilt it by approx. 30°
4. Position the base inside the chimney and anchor it to the chimney surface via the four slotted holes prepared, using a suitable xing system.
ATTENTION
FOR SAFETY REASONS, IT IS IMPORTANT TO ANCHOR THE FIXED BASE TIGHTLY TO THE EXISTING CHIMNEY; IF THIS OPERATION
IS NOT PERFORMED ACCURATELY, THE APPLIANCE COULD OVERTURN AND FALL ON EXTRACTION.
5. Make the tting to the ue in a way to guarantee sealing (sealed or with gaskets). IT IS PROHIBITED to use exible hoses for the connection of the appliance to the ue.
6. Extract the two sliding guides completely and x them with magnets.
7. Re-position the appliance on the xed base, gripping the relevant handles on the sides: tilt it so that the wheels insert themselves on the relevant tracks, make it slide until the coupling of the smoke is completely inserted inside the smoke conveyor box.
8. For the nal blockage, turn the screw with the relevant wrench anti-clockwise in order to x it and restore it with the electric energy.

PELLETS AND FEEDING
Pellets are made by subjecting wood shavings i.e. the rejects of pure wood (without paint) sawmill, carpenter products and products from other activities connected to working and transforming wood, to very high pressures. This type of fuel is fully ecological as no glues are used to hold it together. In fact, the compactness of the pellets is guaranteed over time by a natural substance that is found in wood: lignin. As well as being an ecological fuel, as wood residues are made the most of, the pellet also has technical advantages. While wood has a caloric value of 4.4 kW/kg. (with 15% humidity, therefore after about 18 months seasoning), that of the pellet is 5 kW/kg. Pellet density is about 650 kg/m3 and water content is equal to 8% of its weight. For this reason the pellets do not need to be seasoned in order to obtain a suciently adequate heat yield.
The pellet used must comply with the features described by Standards:
 EN PLUS  UNI EN 16961  2 class A1 or A2  ÖNORM M 7135  DIN PLUS 51731
Opera recommends using pellets with a diameter of 6mm with its products.
PELLET STORAGE
To guarantee combustion without problems, the pellets must be kept in a dry place.
THE USE OF POOR QUALITY PELLETS OR ANY OTHER MATERIAL DAMAGES THE FUNCTIONS OF YOUR STOVE AND CAN VOID THE WARRANTY AND THE ANNEXED RESPONSIBILITY OF THE MANUFACTURER.

CONFIGURATION WITH THE APPLIANCE
This operation must be performed before switching the appliance on (cold) and only the rst time to congure the hand-held radio command with the appliance circuit board.
Operate as follows to congure the hand-held radio control with the appliance:
1. Power the appliance by connecting it to an electric socket and, if it is an insert, by also turning the latch as illustrated below. Activation is conrmed by an acoustic signal.
2. Only if it must be congured with a stove, otherwise pass directly to the next point: activate the appliance positioning the switch on the back at ON. Activation is conrmed by an acoustic signal.
3. Press any button on the radio command repeatedly until "Opera" appears on the display (if congured with a stove, the same wording of the appliance command panel will appear). Whenever the appliance is not congured, "No signal" will appear on the display. Before performing any operation with the radio command, make sure that at least one of the three reception signal indicators is active (see screen in the top right). If there is no reception signal, move the handheld radio command towards the appliance.
Make sure that the hand-held radio control batteries are suciently charged with at least one of the battery charge indicators active (see screen in the top left). If this is not the case, re-charge the batteries of the hand-held radio command by positioning it on the charging base.
To save energy, the display lighting automatically deactivates after a few minutes (SCREENSAVER function). It is sucient to press any button to reactivate the display lighting.

PRELIMINARY OPERATIONS
Before commissioning it is necessary to:
 Check that all safety conditions envisioned are veried.  Make the electric connection after having checked that the power supply voltage is that prescribed of 230V~ 50Hz.  Remove the bag containing the instructions, radio control and rod for opening the door from the tank.  Check that there is sucient fuel in the tank for the envisioned operating period.  Open the door and check that the re pot is positioned correctly and rests well on the base and that the door of the
combustion chamber closes correctly.
 Check that the hand-held radio control is congured with the appliance (see "Conguration with the appliance" chapter).  Check that the hand-held radio control has a sucient battery level.
Before successive rings, proceed as follows when necessary:
 Clean the ceramic glass in the door.  Remove any residues from the re pot.  Clean the combustion chamber.  Empty the ash drawer  Eliminate any residual pellets from the tank that were not used for a long time or accumulations of pellet dust as they may
have lost their initial characteristics for good combustion. This operation must be carried out using a suitable suction device.
SWITCHING THE APPLIANCE ON
NOTE In the case of commissioning, the auger for feeding the fuel is empty, therefore a suitable amount of time is necessary for it to ll and to feed the re pot; to do this, use the [PRELOADING] function on the user menu.
To switch the appliance on in [MANUAL] mode, press the
button for three seconds. In [MANUAL] mode, with the

There are 20 appliance operating powers managed automatically by the appliance on the basis of room temperature and the temperature set, in [MANUAL] mode and in [CHRONO] mode.
ATTENTION
If the dierence between the current room temperature and the desired temperature is below 5°C, the appliance will not go to maximum power (20) but will use the 11th power level as the upper limit.
If ring does not occur, the display signals the alarm [No start]. Before performing a second ring, empty the re pot completely of fuel accumulated in the rst attempt.
Any fuel in the burner must be removed before setting a new lighting operation in all of the following cases:
- after every failed ring,
- whenever the shut-down phase is set, interrupting the lighting phase,
- when relighting following a shutdown due to no pellets.
- for safety reasons, never pour pellets in the hopper.
The operating power is automatically decreased by the appliance as the room temperature approaches the temperature set; on reaching the temperature set, the appliance positions itself in the ECO status.
If, after the room temperature has reached and exceeded the SETTING set, for particular reasons, e.g. the installation room is small, the room temperature continues to increase even if the stove/insert is operating at power 1, if the STAND-BY option has been activated from the user menu, the stove/insert behaves as follows: after 5 minutes that the room temperature has exceeded the SETTING by 2°C, the stove/insert passes to the switch-o status by passing through the envisioned status. The STAND-BY status is characterised by the message on the display like in the following image and the LED L2 stove/insert on, remains active as the stove/insert must be deemed "on". There is a "lled-in" dot on the display of the hand-held command (in the bottom left) that indicates activation.
The condition for the re-start is that the room temperature goes to a value lower by 2°C with respect to the SETTING and remains in this condition for at least 10 minutes.

PELLET SETTING:
Allows to display and modify the pellet drop percentage. On commissioning, check in the span of time of at least 6 consecutive hours that the combustion satises the following requirements:
- There must not be a tendency for accumulation of excess fuel in the burner or poor draft.
- There must not be a tendency for ame shutdown due to low fuel levels or due to excess draft
As the correct operation of the appliance depends on the environment condition and especially draft, the type of tting to the ue and the type of pellet used, if there are any of the tendencies described above and you are sure the appliance is clean, the user may have to set an ideal pellet set in order to obtain combustion in compliance with the technical data and suitable for the type of pellet used. There are 14 parameters organised on the basis of the density and specic weight of the pellet. Select the most appropriate parameter, which gives good combustion, applying the following indications:
 If the pellets tend to accumulate in the re pot (due to a heavy pellet to burn or poor draft of the ue), select a lower parameter to that in use. Check combustion for at least one hour and, if necessary, reduce the parameter selected further until ideal combustion is reached. This activity is the user's responsibility.
 If the ame tends to shut down (due to a very volatile pellet or excessive draft in the ue), select a parameter higher than that in use. Check combustion for at least one hour and, if necessary, increase the parameter selected further until ideal combustion is reached. This activity is the user's responsibility.
The factory parameter is 7.

ALARMS
The following alarms are envisioned, whose activation takes place with a delay of 60" after the corresponding event has occurred. On expiry of this time without the event having returned, the stove/insert passes to the alarm status with immediate shutdown of the stove/insert and activation of the smoke fan and the exchanger fan at maximum speed. The devices are switched-o successively when the temperature of the smoke goes to a value below 60°C. Every alarm status, excluding [No pellet] is recorded in the alarms log.
NO START
In the ring status, the smoke temperature has not reached the
minimum threshold envisioned in the maximum pre-established time.
FAIL
In the stabilizing status, the smoke temperature has not increased
with a rhythm of 3°C/minute or has dropped below the minimum threshold.
H. SMOKE
In any status, the smoke temperature has reached and exceeded
the maximum threshold of 280°C.
NO FLAME
During the work status, the temperature of the smoke has dropped below the
minimum threshold.
DEPR. A.
The pressure switch has indicated an anomalous pressure/negative pressure.
SAFETY A.
The reset thermostat has detected a temperature higher than the threshold
at which it has been set.
A. S. PELLET
The internal room probe has been disconnected, it is broken (it
has short circuited or is interrupted).
SMOKE P.
The smoke thermocouple has been disconnected, it is broken (it

HANDHELD TERMINAL BREAKAGE
If the radio control breaks, OPERA has installed an additional switch on the Q9 insert to re and/or shutdown the appliance in the case of breakage or faults in the hand-held terminal.
This switch is used exclusively in exceptional cases such as malfunctioning/breakage of the hand-held terminal. If the appliance is on and the radio command cannot be used, by activating the red safety switch with a pointed object (e.g. pen) (see gure below), the stove/insert will shutdown. Vice versa, whenever the machine is to be switched back on (with radio control broken), by operating on the same button, operation will be restored with the last parameters set. If, the appliance is to be switched on successively, make sure that the glass door (forced air) is open to maximum and press the knob once, up to limit, which will allow the stove/insert to switch back on and go to the values set before maintenance and/or breakage of the radio command.

APPENDIX "A" AUTOMATIC MODE
The automatic power management systems have the following peculiarities:
 no power SETTING menu (also in chrono settings)
 20 power levels automatically determined depending on the dierence between the room temperature and the user temperature SETTING.
 the "ECO" operating mode does not exist in which in the other systems the power is reduced to value 1. The "eco" message indicates that the temperature SETTING has been reached.
 the system goes gradually to the working power necessary to maintain the set room temperature.
time
power
Temperature set
temperature level
temperature
power level
In the example, the system goes to balanced conditions maintaining the temperature set at 22.5°C at power level 3. The evident benets are represented by the following two factors:
1. The constant work power minimises the emissions into the room
2. The lack of oscillations of the power level between minimum (eco) and that set does not generate the consequent oscillations of the room temperature value.

SUGGESTIONS FOR PROPER USE
1) If used or installed improperly, the pellet stove could cause damage and maximum eciency is not ensured.
2) OPERA provides the user with all information regarding safe use of the stove in order to avoid injury or damage to property or parts of the stove. With the delivery of the manual attached to the stove, OPERA declines all direct or indirect civil or penal liability, owing to poor maintenance, total or partial failure to follow the instructions contained in the manual, use not in compliance with the safety directives, installation not in compliance with regulations in force in the country where it is installed, installation by unqualied and untrained sta, alterations and repairs that are not authorized by the manufacturer or the installation of nonoriginal replacement parts and exceptional events.
3) The installation, electrical connection, operating inspection and maintenance must only be performed by qualied personnel or personnel authorized by OPERA.
4) During the initial lighting of the stove, it may give o odours due to paint or grease fumes. Avoid prolonged time in the room and ventilate it to allow the paint and assembly materials to dry. To remove the odour, we recommend operating the stove at maximum output for a few days (minimum 8 hours per day).
5) At every lighting, make sure the re pot is clean and without obstructions in the air holes, that it is empty of any pellet residue and is properly seated. Regular maintenance and cleaning are indispensable for proper stove operation and to ensure long life.
6) If the stove does not light, before restarting you must remove any pellets in the re pot.
7) We strongly recommend the use of certied pellets (DIN 51731, ONORM M 7135 or in compliance with European Standard EN14961-2). Do not allow the hopper to empty completely and be careful when loading pellets so that no sawdust is added. The use of inferior quality pellets and those not in compliance with the manufacturer's instructions may not only damage the appliance and compromise its performance but may also void the warranty and release the manufacturer from any liability. The stove requires a limited amount of maintenance when using certied, quality pellets. Maintenance needs increase with the use of inferior quality pellets.
8) Do not set ammable objects or those that are not heat resistant on the stove or within the minimum prescribed safety range (see the instruction manual). Do not leave pellet residues on the stove. Also, if relling pellets while the stove is on, make sure the bag does not come in contact with hot surfaces. Any noises, like ticking, are not a defect but a result of normal expansion of materials subjected to thermal stress.
9) The glass must be cleaned when cold, using ammonia-based degreaser and without using abrasives. It is forbidden to open the door of the rebox during operation or to operate the stove with broken glass.
10) Under no circumstances should the appliance be shut down abruptly or by unplugging the power cord. A cooling time that varies from thirty to fty minutes is needed and is controlled automatically by the stove. Only turn o the button on the display. Routine maintenance operations are to be considered required operations to be performed for proper and ecient operation of the stove. If these operations are not performed at the required intervals, it may result in a decline in the performance of the stove. The manufacturer is not responsible for a decline in eciency or stove malfunction resulting from poor maintenance. The following is a summary of the inspection and/or maintenance operations that are indispensable for proper stove operation. These operations must be performed with the stove o and cold and with the power cord unplugged.
