Emergency Response Notification
The text of the Emergency Response Notification displays the first time that the user opens the Phone
application on Cisco Cius and also when the user selects an existing VPN network or adds a new VPN
network.
• Emergency Response Notification for Phone Application, page 2
• Emergency Response Notification for VPN Networks, page 2
Emergency Response Notification for Phone Application
When the user opens the Phone application on Cisco Cius for the first time, the Emergency Response
Notification dialog alerts the user that the ability to dial emergency numbers may be hindered because
the user is on a VoIP network.
This dialog requires that the user check the “I acknowledge this information” check box and click OK
in order to dismiss the dialog . After th e initia l acceptance, the dialog will reappear only if the user
performs a factory reset of their device or the system administr ator performs a remote wipe of the de vice.
The text of the Emergency Response Notification dialog for the Phone application follows here:
Dialing emergency numbers (for example, 911 or 112) may not work on an enterprise-class IP
telephony network like t hat used for Cisco Cius. Correct location information may not be passed on
to emergency responders. Your network administrator can advise you about the capabilities of your
network, including the dialing se quence that you will need to use when on or off the enterprise
premises.
Emergency Response Notification for VPN Networks
Whenever the user chooses to connect to an existing VPN network or chooses the option to Add a New
VPN Connection, a dialog displays to warn about the potential disruption of emergency response
numbers. The user can proceed to the VPN connection step by pressing OK. The user can dismiss the
dialog and cancel the connection by pressing the Back button on the device.
The text of the Emergency Response Notification dialog for VPN networks follows here:
CAUTION — Emergency response numbers (for example, 911 or 112) may not work on software
telephony clients. Your exact location and the appropriate emergency response agency may not be
easily identified. Some countries restrict use of VoIP software via VPN over the Internet, including:
UAE, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Lebanon, Jordan, Egypt, Oman, Qatar, Yemen, Algeria, and Kuwait.

National Restrictions
In the majority of the EU and other European Countries, the 2.4- and 5-GHz bands have been made
available for the use of wireless LANs. Table 1 provides a n ov e r view of th e regulatory requirements in
general applicable for the 2.4- and 5-GHz bands.
NoteThe regulatory limits for maximum output power are specified in eirp. The eirp level of a device can be
calculated by adding the gain of the antenna used (specified in dBi) to the output power available at the
connector (specified in dBm).
The requirements for any country may evolve. Cisco recommends that you check with the local
authorities for the latest status of their national regulations for both the 2.4- and 5-GHz wireless LANs.

batterie sostituibili dall'utente o batterie permanenti.
