Your new digital blood pressure monitor uses the oscillometric method of
blood pressure measurement. This means the monitor detects your
blood’s movement through your brachial artery and converts the
movements into a digital reading. An oscillometric monitor does not need
a stethoscope so the monitor is simple to use.

pressure. Self-diagnosis and treatment using measured results may

The monitor is not intended to be a diagnostic device.

If battery fluid should get in your eyes, immediately rinse with plenty
of clean water. Contact a physician immediately.

Do not rely solely on the Medication Reminder function to take
medicines throughout the day.

Read all of the information in the instruction manual and any other
literature in the box before operating the unit.

rate in the adult population. Do not use this device on infants or
persons who cannot express their intentions.

Operate the device only as intended. Do not use the device for any

environmental pollution.

Do not use a cellular phone near the device. It may result in an
operational failure.

Use only Omron authorized parts and accessories. Parts and
accessories not approved for use with the device may damage the
unit.

Use only 1.5V alkaline batteries with this device.
Do not use other types of batteries. This may damage the unit.

Do not play the CD-ROM disc included with this monitor on general
audio players, DVD players or personal game devices. It may damage
the speaker of the device and may harm your hearing ability.

CARE AND MAINTENANCE

Do not subject the monitor to strong shocks, such as dropping the unit
on the floor.

Do not submerge the device or any of the components in water.

Store the device and the components in a clean, safe location.

Changes or modification not approved by Omron Healthcare will void
the user warranty. Do not disassemble or attempt to repair the unit or
components.

BEFORE TAKING A MEASUREMENT

To ensure a reliable reading follow these recommendations:

1. Avoid eating, drinking alcohol, smoking, exercising, and bathing for
30 minutes before taking a measurement. Rest for at least 15 minutes
before taking the measurement.

2. Stress raises blood pressure. Avoid taking measurements during
stressful times.

3. Measurements should be taken in a quiet place.

4. Remove tight-fitting clothing from your arm.

5. Sit on a chair with your feet flat on the floor. Rest your arm on
a table so that the cuff is at the same level as your heart.

6. Remain still and do not talk during the measurement.

7. Keep a record of your blood pressure and pulse readings for your
physician. A single measurement may not provide an accurate
indication of your true blood pressure. You need to take and record
several readings over a period of time. Try to measure your blood
pressure at about the same time each day for consistency.

8. Wait 2-3 minutes between measurements. The wait time allows the
arteries to return to the condition prior to taking the blood pressure
measurement. You may need to increase the wait time depending on
your individual physiological characteristics.

Cuff Selection

Guide

The OmronÆElite 7300ITInltelliSenseÆAutomatic Blood Pressure
Monitor comes with two cuffs: the Standard Adult Cuff for arm
circumference size of 9 to 13 inches and the Large Adult Cuff for arm
circumference size of 13 to 17 inches.
This sheet explains how to choose the correct size cuff with the Cuff
Guide. However, please read the instruction manual thoroughly before
using the unit.

1. Make a loop with the Cuff Guide by
inserting the end of the guide through
the slot as illustrated.

2. Remove clothing from your upper
arm and position the Cuff Guide on
your upper arm.

3. Tighten the Cuff Guide around your arm.

4. The cut-out arrow on the Cuff Guide
indicates the correct cuff size for your arm
circumference.
Orange use the Standard Adult Cuff,
Purple use the Large Adult Cuff.

NOTES: • The backlight turns on when setting the date and time, setting

the medication reminder alarm, when taking measurement,
displaying measurement values, when the medication
reminder alarm sounds, and when downloading data to the
PC.

• Hold the unit diagonally to read the display.

IRREGULAR HEARTBEAT SYMBOL ()

When the monitor detects an irregular rhythm two or more times during
the measurement, the Irregular Heartbeat Symbol ( ) will appear on the
display with the measurement values.

An irregular heartbeat rhythm is defined as
a rhythm that is more than 25% slower or
25% faster from the average rhythm
detected while the monitor is measuring the
systolic blood pressure and the diastolic
blood pressure.

If the Irregular Heartbeat Symbol ( )
displays with your measurement results, we
recommend you consult your physician.
Follow the directions of your doctor.

MOVEMENT ERROR SYMBOL ()

The Movement Error Symbol () is displayed if you move your body
during the measurement. Please remove the arm cuff, wait 2-3 minutes,
reapply the arm cuff and take another measurement.

HEARTBEAT SYMBOL/HYPERTENSION INDICATOR ()

TAKING A MEASUREMENT

The Heartbeat Symbol ( ) flashes on the display during the
measurement. The Heartbeat Symbol ( ) flashes at every
heartbeat.

When the measurement is complete, the Heartbeat Symbol ( )
flashes on the display with your blood pressure and pulse rate if the
reading is above 135 for the Systolic Blood Pressure value and/or 85
for the Diastolic Blood Pressure value.

USING THE MEMORY FUNCTION

The Heartbeat Symbol ( ) flashes when the blood pressure
reading stored in the memory is above 135 for the Systolic Blood
Pressure value and/or 85 for the Diastolic Blood Pressure value.

AVERAGE VALUE SYMBOL ()

The Average Value Symbol () is displayed when you press the
Memory button ( ). The most recent average reading appears on the
display screen.

DISPLAY SYMBOLS

The American Heart Association recommends the following guideline for
upper limit of normal for home blood pressure readings:

AHA Home Guideline for Upper Limit of Normal BP

Systolic Blood Pressure 135 mmHg
Diastolic Blood Pressure 85 mmHg
This is a general guideline because blood pressure depends on

age and morbidity. The AHA recommends a lower home blood
pressure goal for certain patients, including diabetic patients,
pregnant women, and patients with renal failure

1. Press the ▼ indicator on the battery cover
and slide the cover off in the direction of
the arrow.

2. Install 4 “AAA” size batteries so the
+ (positive) and – (negative) polarities
match the polarities of the battery
compartment as indicated.

When the Low Battery Indicator appears on the display screen, turn the
monitor off and remove all the batteries. Replace with four new 1.5V
alkaline batteries at the same time.

WARNING

If battery fluid should get in your eyes, immediately rinse with plenty
of clean water. Contact a physician immediately.

NOTES: • Turn the unit off before replacing the batteries. If the batteries

are removed while the unit is still on, the date and time will
be reset to that of the previous use. However, the
measurement results are not deleted.

• When the batteries are replaced, you may need to reset the
date and time. If the year is flashing on the display screen,
refer to “Setting the Date and Time”.

• The batteries supplied with the device may have a shorter
life.

Dispose of the device, components and optional accessories
according to applicable local regulations. Unlawful disposal may
cause environmental pollution.

Set the monitor to the current date and time before taking a measurement
for the first time. If the date and time are not set correctly, the
measurement values stored in the memory and the average values may
not be correct.

The Blood Pressure Monitor automatically stores up to 84 individual
measurement values with the dates and times.

The monitor can also calculate an average reading based on the three
most recent measurements taken within 10 minutes of the last reading.

NOTES: • If only two readings are stored in the memory for the

10-minute period, the average is based on the two readings.

• If one reading is stored in the memory for the 10-minute
period, this reading is displayed as the average.

Press and hold the Date/Time Setting button
( ) to adjust the date and time.

The year can be set between 2008 and 2030.
When the display reaches 2030, it will return to

2008.

to advance the date and time values
faster.

If the date and time is incorrect and needs to be changed, always reset
before taking the next measurement.

To adjust the date or time after the initial setting:
Start with the monitor in the off position.

1. Press and hold the Date/Time Setting button ( ).
The Medication Reminder Alarm Symbol ( ) No.1 and the current

setting (on or oFF) will appear on the display.
Press the Date/Time Setting button repeatedly until the year flashes on

the display.

2. Refer to “Setting the Date and Time, 1. To Start the Setting” on page

16.
The Medication Reminder Alarm Symbol ( ) No.1 and the current

setting (on or oFF) will appear on the display, after the minute has
been set.

3. Press the START/STOP button to turn the monitor off.

WARNING

Do not rely solely on the Medication Reminder function to take
medicines throughout the day.

The date and time must be set to the current date and time before the
Medication Reminder Alarm is set. The Medication Reminder Alarm is
set to “off” at the time of purchase. The Medication Reminder Alarm can
be set to sound twice a day to alert the user to take a medication.

NOTES: • To change the date and time refer to “Resetting the Date and

Time” on page 19.

• Press the START/STOP button to stop the Medication
Reminder Alarm.

• The Medication Reminder Alarm will automatically stop
sounding after one minute.

• The Medication Reminder Alarm will not sound when the
monitor is taking a measurement.

ii. Press Memory button (M) to set the hour.

minutes. Press the Date/Time Setting
button. Refer to “Resetting the Date and
Time” on page 19.

The year flashes on the display, after the
Second Medication Reminder Alarm has been
set.

6. TO TURN THE MONITOR OFF

CUFF SIZE BASED ON THE CIRCUMFERENCE OF
YOUR ARM

Two cuffs are included with this unit, one standard adult size and one
large adult size.

1. Make a loop with the Cuff Guide by
inserting the end of the guide through
the slot as illustrated.

2. Remove tight-fitting clothing from your upper left arm.

3. Apply the cuff to your left upper arm so the blue arrow is centered on
the inside of your arm and aligned with your middle finger. The air
tube runs down the inside of your arm. The bottom of the cuff should
be approximately 1/2" above your elbow.

4. Wrap the cuff firmly in place around
your arm using the closure strip.

When taking a measurement using the right arm, use the instruction
below in place of Step 3 on page 26.

Apply the cuff to your right upper arm so the arrow and the air tube runs
along the inside of your elbow. The bottom of the cuff should be
approximately 1/2'' above your elbow.

NOTES: • Be careful not to rest your arm on the air tube. This will

restrict the flow of air to the cuff.

• The Standard Adult Cuff has an “orange arrow”. The Large
Adult Cuff has a “blue arrow”.

1. Sit in a chair with your feet flat on the floor. Place your arm with the
cuff on a table so the cuff is level with your heart.

2. Press the START/STOP button.
All symbols appear on the display.
The cuff starts to inflate automatically. As the cuff inflates, the monitor

automatically determines your ideal inflation level.
This monitor detects your blood pressure and pulse rate during
inflation. The Heartbeat Symbol ( ) flashes at every heartbeat. Do
not move your arm and remain still until the entire measurement
process is completed.

NOTE: To stop the inflation or measurement, press the START/STOP

button. The monitor will stop inflating, start deflating and will
turn off.

3. When the measurement is complete, the arm cuff
completely deflates. Your blood pressure and
pulse rate are displayed.

4. Press the START/STOP button to turn the
monitor off.

NOTE: The monitor will automatically turn off

after two minutes.

The monitor stores measurement values for one user in the memory.
The guest mode can be used to take a single measurement for another
user.

USING THE GUEST MODE

No measurement values are stored in the memory when the guest mode
is selected.

1. Press and hold the START/STOP button for
3 seconds.

The Guest Symbol ( ) appears on the display.

2. Release the START/STOP button.
The cuff starts to inflate automatically.
NOTE: To stop the inflation, press the START/STOP button. The

monitor will stop inflating, start deflating and turn off.

3. Inflation stops and the measurement is started. When the measurement
is completed, your blood pressure and pulse rate appear on the display.

TAKING A MEASUREMENT

Every time you complete a measurement the monitor stores the blood
pressure and pulse rate in the memory.

The monitor automatically stores up to 84 sets of measurement values
(blood pressure and pulse rate). When 84 sets of measurement values are
stored, the oldest record is deleted to save the most recent values.

Measurements taken using the guest mode are not stored in the memory.

AVERAGING FUNCTION

The monitor calculates the average reading based on the three most
recent sets of measurement values taken within 10 minutes of the last
reading.

NOTES: • If two sets of measurement values are stored in the memory

for the 10 minutes period, the average is based on the two
sets of measurement values.

• If one set of measurement values is stored, this is displayed as
the average.

TO DISPLAY THE MEASUREMENT VALUES

1. Press the Memory button ( ).
The Average Symbol ( ) appears on the display when the average

reading is shown.

2. Press the Memory button ( ) to display the most recent set of
measurement values on the screen. The values are displayed from the
most recent to the oldest.

NOTE: The date and time are

alternately displayed with the
measurement values.

Press the Memory button ( ) to
display the next set of values.

Press and hold the Memory button
( ) to display the values faster.

3. Press the START/STOP button to
turn the power off.

TO DELETE ALL VALUES STORED IN THE MEMORY

You cannot partially delete values stored in the memory.

1. Press the Memory button ( ) to turn the monitor on.

2. Press the Memory button ( )
again.

the digital display appears as it
does in the illustration to the
right.

3. Press the START/STOP button to turn the monitor off.
NOTE: The monitor will automatically turn off after two minutes.

data about blood pressure measured by Omron blood pressure monitors
and pedometers with PC download.

NOTE: This software is exclusive to Omron blood pressure monitors and

Use only the authorized Omron USB cable, Model HHX-CABLE-USB2,
included with this unit.

To keep your digital blood pressure monitor in the best condition
and to protect the unit from damage, follow the directions listed below:

Store the monitor in the Stylish Zipper
Case when not in use.

Do not forcefully bend the arm cuff or air tube. Do not fold tightly.
Clean the monitor with a soft dry cloth. Do not use any abrasive

or volatile cleaners. Do not attempt to clean the cuff.

CAUTION

Do not submerge the device or any of the components in water.
Do not subject the monitor to extreme hot or cold temperatures,
humidity or direct sunlight.

CAUTION

Store the device and the components in a clean, safe location.

CAUTION

Do not subject the monitor to strong shocks, such as dropping the
unit on the floor.

Remove the batteries if the unit will not be used for three months or
longer. Always replace all the batteries with new ones at the same time.

ANTES DE TOMAR UNA MEDICIÓN

A fin de garantizar una lectura confiable, siga las recomendaciones que
se enumeran a continuación:

1. Evite comer, tomar bebidas alcohólicas, fumar, hacer ejercicio y
bañarse durante 30 minutos antes de tomar una medición. Descanse
durante al menos 15 minutos antes de tomar la medición.

2. El estrés eleva la presión arterial. Evite tomar mediciones en
momentos de estrés.

3. Las mediciones se deben llevar a cabo en un lugar tranquilo.

4. Retire la ropa ajustada del brazo.

5. Siéntese en una silla con los pies apoyados sobre el piso. Coloque el brazo sobre
una mesa, de modo que el brazalete quede al mismo nivel que el corazón.

6. Quédese quieto y no hable durante la medición.

7. Lleve un registro de las lecturas de presión arterial y del pulso para que las
vea su médico. Es posible que una sola medición no brinde una indicación
precisa de su verdadera presión arterial. Es necesario tomar varias mediciones
y registrarlas durante un período de tiempo. Trate de medir su presión arterial
todos los días a la misma hora para obtener mediciones consistentes.

8. Espere 2-3 minutos entre cada medición. El tiempo de espera permite que las
arterias vuelvan a la condición en la que estaban antes de tomar la medición de
la presión. Es posible que sea necesario aumentar el tiempo de espera según sus
características fisiológicas particulares.

Monitor comes with two cuffs: the Standard Adult Cuff for arm
circumference size of 9 to 13 inches and the Large Adult Cuff for arm
circumference size of 13 to 17 inches.
This sheet explains how to choose the correct size cuff with the Cuff
Guide. However, please read the instruction manual thoroughly before
using the unit.

1. Make a loop with the Cuff Guide by
inserting the end of the guide through
the slot as illustrated.

2. Remove clothing from your upper
arm and position the Cuff Guide on
your upper arm.

3. Tighten the Cuff Guide around your arm.

4. The cut-out arrow on the Cuff Guide
indicates the correct cuff size for your arm
circumference.

El latido irregular se define como un ritmo

25% más rápido que el ritmo promedio que
se detecta mientras el monitor mide la
presión arterial sistólica y diastólica.

Si se visualiza el Símbolo de latido irregular
( ) con los resultados de su medición, le
recomendamos que consulte a su médico.

CÓMO TOMAR UNA MEDICIÓN

El símbolo de latido parpadea ( ) en la pantalla durante la
medición. El símbolo de latido ( ) parpadea ante cada latido del
corazón.

Una vez que se completa la medición, el Símbolo de latido ( )
parpadea en la pantalla junto con la presión arterial y el pulso si la
lectura es superior a 135 para el valor de la presión arterial sistólica
y/o 85 para el valor de la presión arterial diastólica.

CAMBIO DE LA BATERÍA

Cuando el Indicador de Batería Baja aparezca en la pantalla, apague el
monitor y retire todas las pilas. Coloque las cuatro pilas nuevas 1.5V al
mismo tiempo.

ADVERTENCIA

En caso de que el fluido de las pilas entre en contacto con los ojos,
enjuague de inmediato con abundante agua limpia. Consulte
inmediatamente a un médico.

NOTAS: • Apague la unidad antes de cambiar las pilas. Si las pilas se

retiran mientras la unidad está encendida, la fecha y hora se
reconfigurarán en base a los datos anteriores. Sin embargo,
los resultados de la medición no se borran.

• Al cambiar las pilas, es posible que deba volver a configurar
la fecha y hora. Si el año parpadea en la pantalla, consulte
“Configuración de la fecha y hora”.

• Las pilas de obsequio que vienen con la unidad pueden durar
menos.

Configure el monitor con la fecha y hora actuales antes de tomar una
medición por primera vez. Si no se configuran la fecha y hora
correctamente, es posible que los valores de medición y los valores
promedio no se guarden correctamente en la memoria.

El monitor de presión arterial guarda automáticamente hasta 84 valores
de medición individuales con las fechas y horas correspondientes.

El monitor también puede calcular una lectura promedio basada en las
tres mediciones más recientes que se tomaron dentro de un período de 10
minutos a partir de la última lectura.

NOTAS: • Si sólo se guardan dos lecturas en la memoria para el

período de 10 minutos, el promedio se basa en las dos lecturas.

• Si se almacena una lectura en la memoria durante el período

No confíe exclusivamente en la función de Recordatorio de
Medicamento para tomar medicamentos a lo largo del día.

La fecha y la hora deberán configurarse a la fecha y hora actuales antes
de configurar la Alarma de Recordatorio de Medicamento. La Alarma de
Recordatorio de Medicamento está configurada en “apagado” [off] al
momento de la compra. La Alarma de Recordatorio de Medicamento se
puede configurar para que suene dos veces por día para alertar al usuario
que debe tomar un medicamento.

NOTAS: • Para cambiar la fecha y hora consulte la página 19,

“Reconfiguración de la fecha y hora”.

• Presione el botón START/STOP [Inicio/Detener] para detener
la Alarma de Recordatorio de Medicamento.

otro grande, ambos para adultos.

Cuando se toma una medición en el brazo derecho, use estas

Coloque el brazalete en la parte superior del brazo derecho de modo que
la flecha y el tubo de aire queden en la parte interna del codo. La parte
inferior del brazalete debe quedar aproximadamente a 1/2” (1 - 2 cm) por
encima del codo.

NOTAS: • Tenga cuidado de no apoyar el brazo sobre el tubo de aire.

Esto impedirá el flujo de aire hacia el brazalete.

• El brazalete estándar para adultos tiene una “flecha naranja”.
El brazalete grande para adultos tiene una “flecha azul”.

1. Siéntese en una silla con los pies apoyados en el piso. Coloque el
brazo en una mesa de modo que el brazalete quede en el mismo nivel
que su corazón.

2. Presione el botón START/STOP (Inicio/Detener).
Todos los símbolos aparecen en la pantalla.
El brazalete comienza a inflarse automáticamente. A medida que el

brazalete empieza a inflarse, el monitor determinará automáticamente
el nivel óptimo de inflado.
Este monitor detecta su presión arterial y pulso durante el inflado. El
símbolo de latido ( ) parpadea ante cada latido del corazón. No mueva
el brazo y quédese quieto hasta que finalice el proceso de medición.

NOTA: Para detener el inflado o la medición, presione el botón

START/STOP (Inicio/Detener). El monitor dejará de inflarse,
comenzará a desinflarse y se apagará.

brazalete se desinfla por completo. Aparecen la
presión arterial y el pulso.

El monitor almacena los valores de la medición para un usuario en la
memoria.
Puede utilizarse el modo Invitado para tomar una medición única para
otro usuario.

1. Presione y mantenga presionado el botón

3. El inflado se detiene y se inicia la medición. Una vez que se complete

Cada vez que complete una medición, el monitor guarda la presión
arterial y el pulso en la memoria.

El monitor almacena automáticamente hasta 84 valores de medición
(presión arterial y pulso). Una vez almacenados 84 valores de medición
en la memoria, el registro más antiguo se borrará para guardar los valores
de medición más recientes.

Las mediciones que se toman con el modo Invitado [Guest] no se
guardan en la memoria.

FUNCIÓN DE PROMEDIO

El monitor calcula una lectura promedio basada en los valores de los tres
conjuntos de mediciones más recientes que se tomaron en un período de
10 minutos de la lectura más reciente.

NOTAS: • Si se guardan dos conjuntos de valores de medición en la

memoria para el período de 10 minutos, el promedio se basa
en los dos conjuntos de valores de medición.
