Introduction

This guide describes physical behaviour and conformities of the OMNIKEY® 6321, a
contactless smart card reader with optional SIM-sized contact interface.

Overview

The OMNIKEY® 6321 is a PC-linked reader that reads 13.56 MHz (RFID) contactless
smart cards. Optionally, this reader is equipped with a contact interface, which
reads/writes to virtually any contact smart card.

The OMNIKEY 6321 is a USB plug-and-play device. To connect the reader with your
computer, plug the USB connector into your computers USB port.

When the reader is working, the LED illuminates blue. Consult the OMNIKEY User Guide
for driver setup, if the reader is not working.

For contactless operation, place the card on the reader. If a contact interface is available,
insert the contact smart card with the correct orientation.

When the reader is exchanging data with a card (reading or writing), the LED will blink.
