Omegon® Steeltrail 2'' Newton Crayford,
Dual Speed Focuser
Congratulations on the purchase of the new Omegon Steeltrail 2“Newton
Crayford focuser. This focuser is a high quality focuser that allow precision
focusing even with heavy eyepieces or cameras. It has a dual speed focusing
system for precise focusing (1:10 rate). It is compatible with focuser base plates
with a 78mm insert hole and also with Omegon 33360 Base plate for
Newtonians (80mm).
1. Included Accessories
Included is low profile 2“ to 1.25“ adapter and an Allen
wrench.
2. Getting Started
2.1. Start by releasing the two hex screws on your focuser base
plate. Use a hex Allen wrench to do this.
2.2. Insert the focuser in the base place insert hole, make sure
to adjust to the required position.
2.3. Make sure to retighten the base plate hex screws. The
focuser should be securely tighten after this.
3. Important Features of the focuser (figure on the left)
1. Dual Speed Knob. Allows precision focus adjustment (1:10
rate from standard focusing knob)
2. Focusing Knob
3. Break thumbscrew. Locks focuser drawtube.
4. Friction adjustment hex screw. Use a 5mm Allen Wrench to
adjust friction. The friction was already optimized in the
factory and should only be changed if necessary.
5. 2” to 1.25” step-down adapter.
