
Fuser Replacement Instructions for the
OKI MB780 / MB790 MFP – MPS 5500 Series MFP
Step 1
Power off the printer
Power off the printer and disconnect from the power source.
Important Safety Note: Allow the printer to cool for at least 30 minutes before replacing the fuser.

Removing the fuser wiper assembly
Press the button securing the fuser wiper cover assembly and remove the assembly.

Step 3
Removing the rear door assembly
Open the rear door of the printer.
Locate the door retaining strap. Rotate the strap to vertical and remove the strap from the slot.
Lower the door to a 45 degree angle and remove the door.

Removing the paper guide assembly.
Locate the two tabs on the paper guide assembly. Press the two tabs and lower the paper guide to
remove.

Step 5
Removing the fuser assembly.
Locate the two green tabs on the fuser assembly. Press the two tabs and remove the fuser.
Note: When sliding out the fuser use both hands for safety.

Step 6
Preparing the new fuser assembly.
Locate the two orange spacers on the fuser assembly and remove.

Step 7
Installing the new fuser assembly.
Position the fuser assembly in the printer and slide the fuser into the printer until the two green tabs
secure the fuser. They should “click in”.

Step 8
Re-install the paper guide assembly.
Position the two tabs on the paper guide assembly. Raise the paper guide assembly until the two tabs
engage the printer frame.
Ensure that tabs click in place

Re-install the rear door assembly

Resetting the maintenance counter
Entering Configuration Menu
1. Press and hold 2 and 6 buttons simultaneously.
2. Turn on the printer.
3. Release the buttons after 10 seconds.
To reset the maintenance page count to zero:
• Select Reset Maintenance Counter from the Configuration Menu
Select “Yes” to reset the counter.

When the reset operation is complete, the menu returns to the main Configuration
•

Exiting Configuration Menu
Touch Exit Config Menu to exit the Configuration Menu, “Resetting the Printer”
will be displayed. The printer performs a POR, and the printer returns to ready mode.
