The new Defender 5000 adds even more features to our popular Defender series:

• A larger range of bases with 5,000d NTEP/Measurement Canada approvals from 5 to 1,000 lb.

• Bright dot matrix display with SmarText 3.0 software, 5 application-specic Softkeys and

alphanumeric keypad for quick use

• MicroSD card standard:

» Up to 50,000 SKUs and 1,000 user proles for maximum production

tracking. OHAUS ScaleMate can be used to set-up and maintain
SKUs in scale memory. 3 level user management: Administrator,
Supervisor & Operator. The authority of Supervisor can be modied
by Administrator to t various workows. Selectable password
length, type, periodic password change reminder included.

» Weighing results can be saved in either Alibi or regular format for

data storage needs. With the latest version of OHAUS ScaleMate
software, weighing results can also be exported in PDF format.

• EasyConnect system stores factory settings for base conguration in loadcell cable.

Once connected to a TD52 indicator, the settings are uploaded to the indicator for
instant conguration of base.

• 6 fully customizable print templates.

• Metric Tonne and Short Ton units for high capacity use.

Communications

The new Defender 5000 adds an advanced level of connectivity and traceability
to the OHAUS industrial lines:

• RS-232 included with GMP/GLP output and congurable printout templates

• MicroSD Card Slot and Card included—supports up to 50,000 SKU’s data

(in Weighing, Check & Counting modes), 1,000 users and editable memory or Alibi for
traceability. The Defender 5000 can be congured using either the included MicroSD card or
using the latest version of the OHAUS ScaleMate software package.

RS-232/RS-485/USB Device Module—Use the 2nd RS-232 or the USB Device ports for
connecting the Defender 5000 to an external device like a printer. The RS-485 port allows
integration into larger systems in electronically noisy industrial environments.

• Ethernet Module—For integration into LAN networks for data transfer and scale control.

• Bluetooth™/WiFi™—Allows wireless communication by either Bluetooth or WiFi standards

for quick set-up without running cabling to the Defender 5000.

• 4-20mA/0-10VDC Analog Output—Connects to current/voltage loop systems or PLCs. Either

voltage or current level can be adjusted and calibrated to meet existing system needs.

• 2 In/4 Out Discrete I/O with relay—Can be used to control external process equipment

and accept inputs from switches for dedicated systems. Each input and output state can be
congured depending on the software mode used, and outputs equipped with relays for
process control.
