MD-630 Infrared Detection Pen
OPERATION INSTRUCTION
Introduction
MD-630 is a pocket counterfeit detecting device for the banknotes which have the
infrared security feature.
Before you operate it, please read these instructions carefully. Do not operate it until you
understand the contents of this document.
Should you have any doubts, please contact with your local distributor or sales agent for
further advice.

Infrared feature
The Infrared feature is a very advanced security technology applied on the banknotes,
such as the Euro banknotes. Please see the following diagram, on the green round mark,
the printing pattern of this point was printed with the infrared ink. On the red round mark,
the printing pattern of this point was printed with normal ink. The infrared ink and normal
ink can not be distinguished under the daylight, but it can be distinguished with MD-630
Infrared detection pen. For US Currency Infrared map, see the bottom of this file.

Operation
1) Put a banknote on the dark background pad, hold the Infrared Detection Pen and
keep pressing the switch, the red indicator will glow, as diagram 3, keep the Infrared
Sensor touch the green test point on diagram 2, the Green indicator should glow and
the buzzer should alarm, then, move to the red test point on the bank notes as
diagram 2, the green indicator should be off with the buzzer stopping alarm, and the
red indicator will glow, if the detection result meet above condition, it indicates the
banknote is genuine, if not, the banknote is suspected.
