INSTRUCTIONS:
WARNING
Some vehicle manufacturers provide specific instructions to fill and bleed
their cooling systems. It is important to understand and follow the vehicle
manufacturer’s instructions to prevent damage to components and
possible injury.
1. Select the proper size cooling system adapter that fits your cooling
system (compare to your cooling system cap).
2. Install cooling system adapter onto your radiator or coolant tank,
making sure to get a positive seal.
3. Press the angled adapter, extension or funnel into cooling system
adapter opening. If using the angled adapter or extension, it must be
installed in the cooling system adapter before the funnel is installed.
Install the funnel into the adapter or extensions, making sure all
components are positively engaged to prevent leaks.
4. Any combination of angled adapters or extensions can be used to
access hard to reach cooling systems.
5. Once assembled, funnel should be level and away from any moving
parts.
6. Make sure fluid stopper is in the open or up position.
7. Pour fluid into funnel, filling the cooling system slowly so air can
escape.
8. Fill system until funnel is approximately 1/3 full with coolant. Do not
overfill funnel.
9. Start engine with funnel attached.
WARNING
Do not increase engine speed above idle while waiting for the thermostat
to open. Excessive RPM can cause fluid to overflow.
10. If fluid level should rise excessively, shut down the engine and wait
for the fluid level to lower before restarting the engine.
11. Continue to add coolant to the funnel until the cooling system is
completely filled.
12. When complete, if fluid remains inside funnel, squeeze and hold the
large radiator hose while closing (down position) fluid stopper in
funnel, then release hose. This will allow fluid to flow back into the
radiator and prevent fluid spilling when removing funnel.
13. Remove the funnel and empty fluid into appropriate container by
opening (raising) fluid stopper.
14. Remove extension or angled adapter along with the cooling system
adapter, then reinstall radiator cooling system cap.
MAINTENANCE:
1. Always store the Cooling System Funnel in a well-protected area
where it will not be exposed to inclement weather, corrosive vapors,
abrasive dust, or any other harmful elements.
2. Keep the Cooling System Funnel clean for better and safer
performance.
