This notice sets out the terms and conditions of the agreement between you and NetComm Limited regarding your use of the software in the enclosed envelope. IF YOU DO NOT ACCEPT THE TERMS OF THIS AGREEMENT, DO NOT USE THE SOFTWARE. Return the complete Enternet package to the place of purchase within 14 days for a full refund.
The Internet Application software that is provided with Enternet is mostly freeware and shareware. Freeware is available at no cost from certain sites on the internet. Shareware is also available from the Internet but a payment to the owner of the software may be required. NetComm has reproduced this software on the disks enclosed in this product to make it easier for you to get up and running on the Internet quickly. The software copied on the disks is not subject to further payment.
It should be noted however that freeware and shareware is provided to us as is, with no warranty of performance, documentation or technical support. NetComm cannot accept responsibility for the performance of this software, other than warranties implied by legislation.
NetComm also provides software as part of the Enternet package which is owned or licensed by NetComm.
You are granted a non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use one copy of the freeware, shareware and NetComm software included on the disks in the Enternet package (“Enternet Software”) on one computer. If the Enternet Software is permanently installed on the hard disk of a computer, then the principal user of that computer may also use a copy of the Enternet Software on a portable or home computer. The Enternet Software is subject to copyright and you must not copy or duplicate the Enternet Software except for the purpose of making one backup copy.
The Enternet Software is provided to you without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, other than those warranties implied into this agreement by legislation such as the Trade Practices Act and which cannot be excluded. To the extent permissible by law, NetComm excludes all liability for any direct, indirect, special or consequential damages arising out of the supply, use or support of the Enternet Software. Where such liability cannot be excluded, NetComm limits its liability at its option to the resupply or cost of resupply of the Enternet Software.
In relation only to the previous paragraph of this agreement, NetComm enters into this agreement both in its own capacity and as agent for the suppliers and licensors of the freeware and shareware. You acknowledge that NetComm (in its own capacity) and the suppliers and licensors of the freeware and shareware are entitled to the benefit of that clause.

Click the Netscape Navigator button from the Enternet toolbar. (You will see a Status window indicating that it is being dialled). Netscape will start and by default display the Enternet Home Page.
Start Surfing
To start surfing on the Internet you use the Netscape Navigator tool, which is provided with your Enternet software.
Netscape is an application designed to work with the Internet to enable you to access different sites and documents, and in particular to work with the World Wide Web (WWW). The WWW uses a computer protocol known as HTTP (Hypertext Transport Protocol). "Hypertext", as it is commonly referred to, is based on a computer language known as HTML (Hypertext Markup Language). This allows you to navigate to Web sites, files, documents and other areas by 'jumping' to a particular topic you want when you click on a hypertext 'hot spot', called a hyperlink. As you move your mouse across the display window you will notice that the cursor occassionally changes shape to a hand. Whenever this happens you can 'jump' to the desired item by clicking the mouse. When you click on a link, you go directly to that item. A hyperlink text is identified on a document by coloured, underlined text. Hyperlink graphics are enclosed in a coloured border. Also, every site on the Internet has a unique address, called a Uniform Resource Locator (URL). You need to know a site's address before you can display it.

Can I use the same host ID in another state?
No. If you register in one state, Sydney for example, then that host ID is only valid in Sydney. If you want to log into Connect.Com from another capital city, contact Enternet Support on 1 800 818 262 and arrange for multiple host ID's, which will enable you to Roam.
I have problems with the registration process.
Ensure that there are no special characters like ".,:>*&%$ in the users registration name and no additional spaces, as these will cause problems to the registration process. Remove these and try again.
It takes a long time for a page to display on my PC.
The Internet is a collection of different networks and different computers, all running at different speeds with varying numbers of people. Some pages are in great demand, so therefore it may take you a while to access a site.

What does 'Socket Timed Out' mean?
This simply means that the computer on the Internet that you are trying to get information from is unable to respond to you. The following are some reasons and possible solutions:
1. It was overloaded by other requests from other users. In this case, simply try again later.
2. You are not authorised to connect to it.
3. You are not connected to the Internet. Check that Enternet is running. If it is, try some other sites to make sure that you are still connected.
4. The computer that you are trying to connect to is not connected to the Internet.
"Could not find URL" appears.
A URL (Uniform Resource Locator) is the address on the Internet of information you wish to access. This message simply means that your Enternet software application was unable to locate that address. This could be due to that address being no longer in use, or that the computer at that address is not currently accessible; i.e, it is turned off. Try the address again later; or search for an alternative address.
