The OMX-PSWFWC is a “Smart A/B Switcher” for firewire DV media signals: Designed to work with the entire family of “Smart Switchers”, the OMX-PSWFWC provides front panel A-B s witching and can also be controlled from an y other Smart Switcher, a remote hand held control:PSW-REM, or any GPI(General Purpose Interface) equipped device. The product is designed for MEDIA DV signals only(100Mbps) and is not intended for use with power managed peripherals such as print­ers, hard drives, scanners or any IEEE1394 power managed device. The OMX-PSWFWC uses high quality 6 pin IEEE1394 receptacles and is to meet the utility requirements of the modern DV media environment.
Note: The OMX-PSWFWC is designed to handle IEEE1394 (FireWire) 100Mbps media data signals only. The product was not designed for IEEE1394 peripherals such as hard drives, scanners or printers which require power management proto­cols.
Some equipment such as cameras may have to be powered down before switching, and then power back on afterwards. The OMX-PSWFWC should not be used as a “HOT SWITCH”. It should be used as a data selector.
The OMX Series Smart A/B Switchers can be controlled by either dry contact closure or by providing a ground signal to the 5-Pin DIN Tally IN Connector. Follow the pin-out below.

To externally trigger the unit, short Pin 2 and 3 with a dry contact closure or provide ground level to Pin 2 (provided ground must be tied to pin 3).
