TIPS FOR GREAT POSITIONING
1. The Float adds about 1” to the height of the face rest pad when there is weight on it. If you have an adjustable height platform,
such as Oakworks QuickLock Face Rest Platform or Adjustable Face Rest Platform, adjust the height to t your client. (image 4)
2. When the client lies down, make sure they are centered in the range of motion of the face rest. This will insure that they will have
equal freedom of movement in all directions. The Float allows the head to move approximately 1.5” from neutral in every direction.
(image 5)
3. The Float is designed to offer increasing resistance to movement the farther from center a person’s head moves. This creates a sense
of security and promotes safe movement of their head. It is recommended that movement of the head is minimal in the rst few
minutes to allow the client to acclimatize to the freedom of movement.
4. For supine positions, cervical support can be achieved by turning the Float and face rest pad 180 degrees on the platform. (image 6)
The Float and face rest pad can also be placed directly on the table top for supine positioning. (image 7)
5. For the ultimate in comfort, combine a Boiance Face Rest Crescent with the Float. (image 8)
6. Remove your face rest with Float from the table and store at when not in use.
