Your Remote Control Transmitter
The remote co ntrol transmitter controls the Remote Start, Rear Defroster, Personal Protection Alarm and Progressive Car Find.

remote control transmitter will chirp the horn 5 times. Subsequent presses of the

Starting Your Vehicle
The remote start function is activated by pressing the

Note: The Rear Defroster feature can only be activated during remote start operation and it will remain on for the remaining remote

windshield), it is a good idea to get in the habit of turn ing the vehic le’s windshield wipers o ff when p arking the vehicle.

USING VALET/SERVICE MODE

Using Valet/Service Mod e
Valet/Ser vic e M o de is use d to prevent the system fr om unexp ec tedly st arting the engine whi le be ing serviced. The system will
chirp t he horn 3 times if an attempt is made to act ivate the remote start system.
To Engage Valet/Service Mode: Turn the ignition to the ON position, by pressing the Start button on the dashboard 2 times with a
factory Smart key transmitter inside the vehicle, without pressing the brake pedal.
Once the ignition is turned on, press and hold the brake pedal and press the
chirp the horn once with each transmitter button press and 3 additional times indicating the system has entered V alet/Service Mode.
T o Exit Valet/Service Mode (Return the system to its normal operating mode): Turn the ignition to the ON position, by pressing
the Start button on the dashboard 2 times with a factory Smart key transmitter inside the vehicle, without pressing the brake pedal.
Once the ignition is turned on, press and hold the brake pedal and press the
chirp the horn once with each transmitter button press and 1 additional time indicating the system has exited Valet/Service Mode.
Important Note: When taking your vehicle to the dealer for service, it is recommended that you inform the service personnel that
your vehicle is equipp ed with a Remote Start System.

CHANGING T HE REMOTE CONTROL BATTERY
Changing the Remote Control Transmitter Battery
The 3-volt lithium battery (Model CR2032) supplied in your remote control transmitter should last approximately three years, depending on usage.
When the battery begins to weaken, you will notice a decrease in range or the distance from the vehicle that your remote control will operate.
Replacement batteries are available at local electronics stores.
Follow the instructions below to change the remote control battery.
