How to obtain the best results
The owner’s involvement during the first use of the product
is a key factor in obtaining the best results.
Do not leave your dog unattended with the collar on until he is used to wearing it and you are satisfied that it is working correctly.
Closely watch your pet during the first days’ use.
When your dog is barking, let the collar operate without interference. Any interference on your part could teach your dog that barking is an effective means to get your attention. As soon as your dog stops barking, reward him (but not excessively) with petting, verbal praise or dry food.
When you first begin to use Canicalm Spray collar, refill the reservoir frequently. It’s very important that your dog never empties the collar. Otherwise, he will understand that he can stop the sprays by barking during a certain amount of time. Moreover, he will associate barking with reward.
Remember that barking can indicate some behavioural problems. The bark limiter collar will allow you to resolve problems caused by excessive barking. Before using the collar, have your dog checked by your veterinarian.
Do not leave the collar more than 8 hours per day on your dog.
Thank you for choosing the CANICALM Spray bark limiter by NUM’AXES. Before using this product, carefully read the instructions in this manual, be sure to keep it safe for future reference.

How the Collar works
Filling the spray reservoir
Before turning the collar On, you have to fill the reservoir of your product. To avoid unexpected triggering while you are filling or refilling the product, the collar should be
imperatively turned off.
Precautions for filling the spray reservoir: – Do not fill the unit while your dog is wearing the collar. – Fill the reservoir away from sources of ignition, naked flame or any incandescent material. Do not smoke. – Direct the spraying valve away from your body (especially from your eyes). – Only use NUM’AXES branded spray refills with your CANICALM Spray collar.
To fill the reservoir proceed as follows: – Put the unit on a flat and stable surface with the refill valve upright and the spraying valve directed
away from your body and your eyes (See Diagram 2). – Hold the spray can upside down then insert the nozzle in the refill valve. – Firmly push down on the spray can and hold for 3 seconds, then release. If spray is escaping while you are filling the reservoir, you are not pressing firmly enough and/or you are not holding the can in a vertical position (See Diagram 2).

trigger a spray (see Activate the collar).
- Blow on the hole located close to the serial number label 2 or 3 times in order to ensure the good
operation of the collar.
- Before finishing to fill the reservoir, check that the collar is turned Off.
– Turn the spray can upside down and insert the nozzle in the refill valve (spray refill in a vertical
position).
– Firmly push down on the spray can for 10 seconds then release.

Activate the collar
The battery is already fitted in the collar when you buy it.
- Before turning the collar On, make sure to direct the spraying valve away from your body and
particularly away from your face because the collar automatically emits a spray when you switch it On.
- Press the red On/Off button so that it does not come out of the plastic case (button inserted approx.
1 mm inside the collar). Use a pointed object such as the point of a pen to sufficiently press the
button.
- The collar will automatically emit a spray (or a “click” sound if the reservoir is empty).
- In order to test the good activation of the collar, blow on the hole located close to the serial number
label (see Diagram 1). A spray is emitted indicating the collar is On (the collar will emit a “click”
sound if the reservoir is empty).
Deactivate the collar
Press the red On/Off button using a pointed object such as the point of a pen.
Replacing battery
The battery supplied in the collar is a SAFT 3,6 Volt Lithium battery. Battery life:
- approximately 3 years on regular use
- approximately 4 years in stand-by
Caution: The battery can only be replaced by the manufacturer. For further information, please contact your distributor or NUM’AXES (+33.2.38.69.96.27 or export@numaxes.com). Caution: Do not under any circumstances open the CANICALM SPRAY collar. You could damage components. Moreover, opening the collar voids your guarantee.
Fitting the collar
Collar adjustment is very important:
- If the nylon strap is too loose, the collar is likely to move and it will not operate properly.
- If the nylon strap is too tight, the dog will have breathing difficulties. The nylon strap is properly adjusted when you can insert two fingers between the strap and your dog’s neck.
The collar must be positioned on your dog’s neck with:
- The spray valve and the microphone pointing up toward your dog’s snout (See Diagram 3).
- The refill valve directed downward. Reservoir in contact with your dog’s neck (See Diagram 3).
Gb - 15
If you have a long haired dog, make sure that the spray reaches the dog’s snout area. If necessary, trim the hair on your dog’s neck.
