Cleaning & Maintenance
• Before you clean the appliance, switch off the unit and disconnect from the power supply.
• Do not spray with water, immerse in water, or use abrasive cleaning, liquids or chemical agents (Alcohol, Gasoline etc.) to clean the appliance as these may damage the
surface.
• Use a damp cloth to clean the product housing.
• Do not allow water to leak into the internal parts of the unit.
Cleaning the water tank
If your water tank is not cleaned and disinfected on a regular basis, the water may become slimy and may develop an odour. This probably means that there is bacteria build up. Therefore once you have cleaned the water tank of your Dehumidifier, it should be disinfected/ sterilised.
• Remove the water tank from the unit (as explained in operating instructions above).
• Remove lid/rubber plug and drain water if needed.
• Rinse out with clean water by removing the water tank and the water tank lid. Once the water tank has been cleaned with water, wipe the unit dry.
• Replace lid/rubber plug, wipe away any excess water from the surface of the tank.
• Reposition water tank securely in the main unit.
Disinfection of the Water Tank
• Fill the base with clean water and sterilisation fluid (or tablet) – available from most chemists
and hardware stores.
• Allow this solution to soak as directed on the pack. Occasionally, gently swish the solution so
it covers the tank evenly.
• Once soaking time has passed, pour the solution down the drain, being careful not to spill
any.
• Rinse the base several times until the odour has dissipated. Never allow any solution to
remain in your humidifier.
WARNING
• Do not switch on the dehumidifier while the sterilisation solution is in the water tank.
• Rinse the tank thoroughly with clean water and dry it before reusing the device.
• Do not immerse the main unit in water.
Storage
If the unit is not going to be used for a long period of time, we recommend:
• Cleaning it as detailed above.
• Air dry thoroughly before storing.
• Ensure the power adaptor is safely stored with the unit.
• Store in its original packaging in a cool, dry, dust free area away from heat sources & direct
sunlight.
Note: Do not store the unit until it is completely dry. Failure to do so may cause bacteria,
mould spores and fungus to grow & multiply in any residual dampness.
