GYROSET GLORY HEADSET USER MANUAL
Product features
The GyroSet Glory headset is a pointing device / head mouse.
The GyroSet Glory headset is a versatile tool to control computers by head movements. The headset can also be used as a wheelchair head controller together with
the GyroSet Guide wheelchair controller.
Below are the main components of GyroSet Glory:

1. USB connector. It is a Micro USB connector used mainly for charging the headset.
2. The Power switch switches power on and o for the headset (Slide left: ON; slide
right: OFF)
3. Mode selector button (big button). The mode selector button switches between
headset control and computer mouse control. When pushed it also centres the
cursor on the screen. The location of the button allows it to be pushed against a
headrest of a wheelchair.
4. Click sensor. An infrared sensor that detects blinks or cheek movements based
on its placement. It is specially designed so that it’s not disturbed by sunlight,
other ambient light sources or darkness.
The GyroSet Glory headset contains a Lithium-ion battery that lasts 36-40 hours with
continuous usage, when fully charged. The headset communicates with the USB dongle wirelessly.

Operation
Note: Please do not turn the headset on while in the box. Turning the headset on while
the mode selector button is pressed resets the device.
The device does work as a mouse even if it the driver software wasn’t successfully installed.
1. Take a charged headset.
2. Plug in the dongle (there may be various USB ports, if it doesn’t work in one try
another)
3. Wait 5-10 seconds, until your operating system recognises that there is something plugged in the USB port
4. Turn on the headset (slide the small switch to the left) and leave it steady for 10
seconds so the sensors can initialise.
5. Position your head to face the screen, look at the centre of the screen.
6. Push the mode selector button (big button) at the back, you should see the cursor moving
7. Position the blink sensor
a. near your eye (about 1 cm distance from the corner of your eye) so that it can
see you blinking but it does not disturb you.
b. near your cheek (about 0.5-1 cm distance from your skin) - you may have to
experiment with it as it is a little bit dierent for everyone.

10. You can switch between headset mode and normal mouse by pushing the mode
selector button (big button).
11. If you push the mode selector button, the cursor will always appear at the centre of the screen. This allows you to set and reset the cursor if needed.

Driver installation (OSX)
The device can be set up / customised to individual needs. By installing the application
you will be able to change the parameters of the headset.
1. Make sure the dongle is NOT plugged in.
2. Choose the Setup Application that ts your operating system
3. Download the latest Driver from the NowTechnologies website (can be found at
www.nowtech.hu/downloads)
4. Open the .zip le and run the Glory Tools programme
5. Plug in the dongle; the Glory Tools icon in upper menu and the sidebar should appear
6. You are done!

Menu structure – Glory Tools
MAIN MENU
1. Status - Here the rmware version, the current settings and the serial number of
the headset can be viewed.
2. Preferences
2.1. Settings – Sidebar settings, opacity, size, zeroing feedback etc. can be set.
2.2. Calibration – Headset calibration. Step-by-step details can be found on page 5
of this manual under the heading “Calibration”
2.3. Pairing – The headset can be paired with other Mac, PC or Android devices.
2.4. Firmware – The rmware can be updated here to the latest version.
3. Prole editor - Preferences of view angle, tremor lter and zero position timeout
can be set here. Settings can be saved as dierent proles.

Calibration
Ideally, calibration should only be carried out only once before the rst use of the
headset.
1. Once the Glory Tools is installed, turn on the headset by switching the power button to
the left, the LED next to the button will turn green and the sidebar will become active.
2. Click on the menu button
3. Select ‘Preferences’

4. Select ‘Calibration’
5. Please follow the on screen instructions to complete calibration.
6. Leave the headset steady on a at surface for about 20 seconds, then click ‘Next’.
7. Pick up the headset and swirl it around in every possible direction (try to imagine a
sphere, and then try to make the blink sensor sweep all of the inner surface of the
sphere) until the counter reaches at least 80% then click ‘Next’
8. Wait about 30 seconds until the settings are applied and click ‘Done’.
9. Calibration is complete.

Modes– Glory Tools
The GyroSet Glory headset is a multifunctional device. It can control the computer,
an android device connected to a GyroSet Guide wheelchair controller or it can drive
the wheelchair itself.
To switch between modes, the mode switch button needs to be used. The headset is
designed so that the button can be pressed against the headrest of the wheelchair.
A long push (1.5 seconds) of the big, round button switches between modes listed
below. To activate or deactivate the current mode the button needs to be pressed
once using a short push (0.5 seconds) by short push.

Prole Editor – Glory Tools
In the Prole Editor the user can set up dierent proles and save them so that
several people can use the same computer. By adjusting the settings the behaviour
of the headset can be personalised.
Function Operation
Autozero
If enabled, the cursor will automatically
jump to the middle of the screen if the
mode selector button is pressed. I.e.
press once to deactivate mouse cursor,
press again to activate mouse cursor
and center it.
Zero position timeout (seconds) The cursor will not be active for the set
amount of seconds while it is brought
back to the zero point- middle of the
screen. This allows the user to set their
head to the middle conveniently.
View angle View angle sets the sensitivity of the
cursor. If it is set to zero the cursor will be
extra sensitive to movement- if set to 100%
it will be least sensitive to movement.
Tremor lter Filters out tremors and uncontrolled
movements the bigger the tremors are
the higher the lter should be set.
