FINE PRECISION
FINE PRECISION —

generous way areas which assure low unit pressure in operation of sliding components. An extremely
You get fine
precision because of the heavy base and
wheelslide of the Type C-2 Grinder,
precise wheel feed mechanism and enduring accuracy in the wheel spindle unit contribute importantly to
giving you finest precision.
o Micrometric-type wheel feed mechanism
greatly sustains sizing accuracy — large dia
meter feed screw revolves in long full-nut,
affording precise metal-to-metal contact
o Large way areas are hand scraped for sus
tained
accuracy of sliding components — ways
provide precise bearing and have superior
lubricant retention properties due to creation
of minute oil pockets in scraping
o Combining of most efficient hydraulic and
mechanical features in wheel feed mechanism
assures fast, accurate sizing
o
Heavy-duty capacity of wheel spindle unit
permits fast roughing cuts or finest finishing
without readjustment of bearings
o Sliding and swivel tables are proportioned to
assure straight work — heavy tables dampen
vibration and provide rigidity for heavy cuts
o "Across-the-table”

acy in
work support by maintaining alignment

The AUTOMATIC GRINDING CYCLE makes possible a sustained high
production by functioning with consistent rapidity hour after hour, and by
eliminating need for operator attention. The cycle includes a rapid advance
of the grinding wheel, a momentary cushioning, the actual grinding feed,
dwell
for size and finish, and rapid wheel withdrawal —
on the part of the operator.
AUTOMATIC RAPID ADVANCE AND WITHDRAWAL of the grind
ing wheel occurs smoothly by the action of a large piston moving in a
hydraulic cylinder. In this rapid movement, the piston moves the feed
the full-nut, and the wheel slide, as an integral unit with no relative motion
