10" Type
Incorporating several noteworthy features, the Angular Wheel
Slide Arrangement available in the 10" Type C line is entirely different from any other Norton machine giving an angular setting of the wheel in relation to the table.
Angularity of wheel slide, selected by customer, may be varied
between 15° and 45°. Angle is set at factory. Subsequent
change, not available as an adjustment, may be engineered by
Norton Company.
While any wheel slide angle within defined limits is possible,
angles of 15°, 30° or 45° generally cover most requirements.
In the Angular Wrheel Slide Arrangement the slide moves toward work at predetermined angle to table,
vious constructions in which movement of slide is at right

Important result of difference is manner in which wheel contacts work.
surfaces, grind surfaces in sequence, by jogging table. With Angular Wheel Slide Arrangement, two
adjacent surfaces are ground simultaneously. Increased produc tion and reduced wheel wear result. Using multi-wheel mounting, additional face can be ground.
j
Distance from floor to work center is but 35", a convenient height popular with operators.
Practically entire machine conforms to standard specifications. Headstock, footstock and tables are of accustomed design and
dimension, construction is unchanged.
