1.3 Conversion information
Required software version installed in device for conversion:
- Evita 4: SW 2.20 or higher
- Evita 2 dura: SW 3.10 or higher

2 Installation and configuration of PCB
Electrostatic discharge may damage electrostatic sensitive devices. Use an
antistatic mat and a wrist strap when handling electrostatic sensitive devices.
• Switch off EvitaXL / Evita 4 / Evita 2 dura and disconnect device from mains.
• Create ESD conditions.
• Install Pediatric-Flow PCB (NeoFlow) of the kit / option according to assembly
instructions PCBs 84 15 604 in electronics on rear side of device:
- If PCBs have been installed differently during previous conversions reinstall them
according to assembly instructions PCBs 84 15 604.
- Ensure that PCBs are firmly in place on both sides in the lower groove of PCB slots.
- Fix PCBs with the two screws 13 43 246 each.
- Cover free slots with cover plates. Fix cover plates with two screws 13 43 246 each.

3 Test
• Perform electrical safety test according to DrägerService EvitaXL, Evita 4, or Evita 2 dura
PMS instructions
• Configuration of NeoFlow function:
Evita 4:
- Switch on Evita 4
- Switch to Standby after finishing self test and confirm
- Press Configuration key
- Touch Ventilation key
- Enter access code 3 0 3 2
- Touch Patients key
- Select “Adults, Ped. or Neo.” mode with rotary knob and confirm by pressing rotary
knob.
- Switch off Evita 4
Evita 2 dura:
- Not necessary for Evita 2 dura
EvitaXL, Evita 4 / 2 dura with option EvitaXL:
- Switch on device

- Switch to Standby after finishing self test and confirm
- Press System/Setup key
- Touch Therapy key
- Enter access code 3 0 3 2
- Touch Patient Range key
- Select “Adults, Pediatric and Neonates” with rotary knob and confirm by pressing
rotary knob.
- Switch off EvitaXL
• Testing NeoFlow
- Assemble device ready for neo. flow operation including expiratory valve, flow
sensor cable, and neo. flow sensor.
- Switch on device
- Test: After finishing self test or in standby it is possible to select neonatal patients.
- Switch device to standby and confirm
• Device check in standby:
- Perform complete device check
All tests are OK (passed) including calibration of neo. flow sensor.
• Switch off device

4 Labeling of device
• Mark the option NeoFlow (P/N 84 13 563) on the options label (left-hand side of device).
• Evita 4 only:
Cover printed name Evita 4 on control unit with label Evita 4 Neo Flowä.

Enter serial number of device on the back page of additional NeoFlow Instructions for Use /
Operating Instructions.
