Installation of COSY II
Noise Reduction Kit
Preparing the Breathing System:
1. Set machine power switch to the Off ( )
position and close all flow control valves.
2. Remove the scavenger hose from the
scavenger port of the breathing system.
3. Disconnect the PEEP/Pmax hose from
its valve dome.
4. Using a two-hole spanner wrench
(7910305) remove the PEEP/Pmax valve
dome from the breathing system. See
Figure 1.
Replacing the PEEP/Pmax and
Scavenger Valves:
5. Remove the existing PEEP/Pmax valve
assembly and install the replacement
assembly (P/N 4117885) as shown in
Figure 1. Discard the original valve
assembly.
NOTE: Ensure that the valve assembly is
properly seated in the valve crater.
NOTE: Should the new valve become
disassembled in shipment, refer to Figure 2
for the correct arrangement of its parts.

6. Reinstall the PEEP/Pmax valve dome on
the breathing system and tighten.
Reconnect the PEEP/Pmax hose to the
hose barb on the valve dome.
7. Unscrew the scavenger valve port
assembly from the underside of the
breathing system, and install the
replacement scavenger valve assembly
(P/N 4116715).
NOTE: Return the original scavenger valve
port assembly to DMI within 7 days after
replacement. Contact Customer Service to
obtain an RMA for return of the Scavenger
Valve(s) part number 4116715, Port Asm,
Exhaust, Breathing System. Reason for
return shall indicate “Exchanged per ECN
02-0382.”
8. Reinstall the scavenger hose on the new
scavenger valve port.
Performance Tests:
9. Set machine power switch to the On (
position, and perform the PMS test steps
outlined in the following sections of the
Fabius GS Service Manual:
