The Companion CT2Plus and PCI portfolio provide a multi-cell wireless voice
solution for users of Meridian 1, Norstar, and Business Communications Manager
systems as well as third party systems via the Companion C200 and Companion
Wireless Server. This Bulletin serves as the official notification of pending Retirement
status. This Retirement is a due to a growing concern of future FCC/Industry
Canada spectrum utilization policies, reduction in the overall UPCS industry sales,
growing dominance of 802.11 based technologies, and in part to the lack of future
availability of key Companion product components.

This bulletin has been up-issued to reflect a change in the planned “Last Date to Order”
dates for certain Companion components.

Support level during Sustained period:
From May 6, 2002 the portfolio will be considered as sustained:

• Not available for new systems shipments, available for additions and maintenance to existing

systems only

• Limited GNTS support - problem diagnosis only

• UTAM Regression codes are still available through GNTS.

• Limited manufacturing, product design, and marketing support

• Documentation is available (hard copy and/or soft copy)

• Full Repair facilities maintained

Support level during Retirement period:
Retirement/Last Date to Order of individual components will occur over an extended period. Once
an individual component is rated as Retired:

• Product is no longer available

• Limited GNTS support - problem diagnosis only with no activity by Nortel Networks to correct

the problem

• UTAM Regression codes are still available through GNTS.

• No manufacturing, product design or marketing support

• User Guides and Documentation no longer available

• Repair facilities retained until End-of-Life (EOL) only for components indicated in the

following tables. For all other components, sufficient stock must be purchased prior to the
Retirement.

Support level following End-of-Life:
Once an individual component is rated as End-of-Life:

• Product is no longer available

• No manufacturing, product design, marketing or GNTS support

• UTAM Regression codes are not available

• User Guides and Documentation no longer available

• No Repair Facilities
