Installing the 2GIG Z-Wave Module
The 2GIG Z-Wave Module (2GIG-ZWM-500) providesthe GC3 Security&
Automation System with the abilityto communicate with up to 232 smart home
devices usingthe Z-Wave wirelesscommunicationprotocol.

Verify that the package includes the following:

Install the Z-Wave Module
To installthe 2GIG Z-Wave Module into a Control Panel,do the following:
1. If the Cellular Radio Module bay islocked,remove the faceplate and then
move the door-lock screw to the UNLOCK position. See "(Optional)
Lock/Unlockthe Cellular Radio Module Door" on the next page.
Otherwise, continue with step 2.
2. Remove the hinged door from the GC3 Control Panel.

7. Disconnect the Piezo Sounder connector.

8. Disconnect the internal siren/speaker connector.

3. If a Cellular Radio Module ispresent in the system, pullthe tab to remove
remove it. Otherwise, skip this stepand continue with step 4.
4. Remove the backplate'sscrew lockfrom the bottom of the GC3 Panel.
This unlocks the panel's backplate from the rest of the chassis..

5. Separate the backplate from the GC3 Panel.
6. Disconnect the wired backup battery pin from the PCBbattery connector.

9. Remove the two screws that secure the rear plate to the chassisand
remove the plate.

10. Insert the 2GIGZ-Wave module into the STM-5 connector on the PCB
and secure with the Phillipshead screw.

2. Remove the door-lock screw from the UNLOCK position on the right.

11. Replacethe rear plate and secure it with two Phillipshead screws.
12. Connect the internal siren/speaker connector, the Piezo Sounder
connector, and the backup battery connector to their respective PCB
connectors.
13. Install the backplate to the chassisand secure with the screw lockon the
bottom of the Control Panel.
14. Install the Cellular Radio Module, if one was present.
15. Install the hinged door.

(Optional) Lock/Unlock the Cellular Radio Module Door
The Cellular Radio Module fitsinto the bay on the sideof the GC3 Panel and
features a built-in door lock under the faceplate. The Control Panel ships with the
door-lockscrew inthe UNLOCK position.To limit the possibilityof someone
removing the door, installers have the option of moving the screw to the LOCK
position.

To lockand unlockthe Cellular Radio Module door:
1. Useyour fingertips or carefully insert a screwdriver at the edge of the
faceplate. Then gently pry the faceplate from the chassis.
3. Install the screw into the LOCK position on the left. Thislocksthe hinged
door on the GC3 Control Panel.

4. Snap the faceplate backon the GC3 Control Panel.

If the module'slabel is not visiblewhen installed, then an additional permanent
labelreferring to the enclosedmodule: "Contains Transmitter Module FCC ID:
WDQ-ZWM500" must be placed on the rear panel in a visible location.
