LED Charging Indicator Light
The green LED Charging Indicator Light will light up to
indicate razor is (re)charging.
CHARGING
Battery performance is best if you recharge only when
the batteries are (almost) completely empty.
Charging or recharging at temperatures below 40ºF or
higher than 95ºF adversely affects lifetime of batteries.
Continuously recharging will reduce life of batteries.
If razor has not been used for at least 1 month,razor
must be recharged for a full 24 hours.
Do not charge razor in pouch (model 4601X only).
1Before charging,set Voltage Selector to desired setting.
To change voltage from 115V to 230V AC, slide switch
found on bottom of razor to desired voltage.
2Connect cord to razor.Plug into any 120V to 240V AC
outlet.Use only the cord provided.The green Indicator
Light lights up to indicate razor is (re) charging.
An adaptor plug may be necessary for cord usage in some
foreign countries.
3First time charging and recharging after non-use for
1 month or more requires a full 24 hours.
Recharging (after initial 24 hour charge) requires 16 hours.

HOWTO SHAVE WITH AN ELECTRIC RAZOR
Shaving with dry skin gives the best results.
1Turn razor ON by locking the switch to the “ON” position.
S h ave against the direction of beard growth using both
straight and circular move m e n t s .
2Stretch your skin with your free hand so blades can lift
and cut whiskers.Gently press razor to skin,so the
floating heads can follow the contours of your face. DO
NOT press too hard. Too much pressure can pinch the
skin into combs.
3Turn razor OFF by locking the switch to the “OFF” position.
4Put the protective razor head cap on the razor to
protect razor heads.
5Replace your Norelco Micro Action razor heads
(model # HQ4) once a year for optimal shaving results.

TRIMMING
To groom sideburns and moustache:
1Turn razor ON by locking the switch to the “ON” position.
2Push up Trimmer Slide Switch.
3Hold Trimmer as shown and move in downward strokes
with gentle pressure.
4Close Trimmer by sliding Trimmer switch down.
5Turn razor OFF by locking switch to the “OFF” position.
CLEANING
Once AWeek:Razor
1Turn razor OFF by locking switch to “OFF” position.
2Clean the top of the razor with the supplied brush.
3Remove Razor Head Assembly from the razor unit.
4Brush the inside of housing and Razor Head Assembly.
5Replace the Razor Head Assembly back on razor.
EveryTwo Months:Razor Heads
1Turn razor OFF by locking switch to “OFF” position and
disconnect from outlet.
2Remove Razor Head Assembly from housing unit.
3Brush the inside of the housing.
4Turn Razor Head Assembly over so that the
underside is exposed.
5Press down and turn wheel of frame counterclockwise.
6Remove the frame and brush clean.

7Remove and clean one cutter and head at a time.
•Be careful not to mix up cutters and heads. They
are a matched set and if interchanged,it will greatly
affect shaving performance.
8Separate the cutter from the comb.
9Only brush the cutter in an upward motion.
Use the short bristled side of the brush.
10 Brush the slots of the razor head.
For optimum performance, razor cutters and combs
should be cleaned in a degreasing liquid (e.g.Norelco
Razor Cleaner,model RC1776,or alcohol) and lubricated
with Norelco Razor Lubricant,model AL80,or one drop of
mineral oil (in the center of the head).
11 Replace the cutter and razor head in the Head Assembly.
12 Repeat the process for the other two razor heads
(cutters and combs).
14 Press down and turn the wheel clockwise until it locks
into place.
15 Replace the Razor Head Assembly back on razor.
After Each Use:Trimmer
1Turn razor OFF by locking the switch to the “OFF” position.
2Push Trimmer Slide Switch up to pop-up Trimmer.
3Clean Trimmer with the brush every time you use it.
4Lubricate the Trimmer teeth with Norelco Razor
Lubricant (model AL80),or with one drop of mineral
oil every 6 months.
5Close Trimmer by sliding Trimmer switch down.
