REGISTRAZIONE DELLA GARANZIA

1. AVVERTENZE E SICUREZZA

Leggere attentamente il presente libre tto di istr uzion i e i libr etti di is truz i one deg li al tri kit N-Com che verranno abbinati a N-Com B4. Il mancato rispetto delle norme di seguito riportate può dare origine a situazioni pericolose.

Attenzione: il prodotto non può essere utilizzato in competizioni ufficiali e non

ufficiali, motodromi, circuiti, piste e simili.

Attenzione: l’istallazione del sistema N-Co m B4 comporta un incremento di peso di

circa 60g che si aggiunge al peso del casco e degli altri acce ssori.

Avvertenza: le parti elettroniche del sistema N-Com interne al casco non sono

impermeabili. Evitare quindi che si bagni l’interno del casco, compresa l’imbottitura di conforto, per non rischiare di danneggiare il sistema. Qualora dell’acqua filtrasse all’interno del casco , rimuovere il sistema N-Co m e la cuffia di conforto del casco e lasciare asciugare all’aria. Scollegare il connettore della batteria ed asciugare.

1.1. Sicurezza stradale

Rispettate tutte le leggi in vigore che regolano la circolazione stradale. Durante la guida, le mani devono essere impegnate nella conduzione del veicolo. Ogni operazione da svolgere sul sistema N-Com deve essere fatta a veicolo fermo. In particolare:

• Predisporre il telefono per la risposta automatica (vedere istruzioni relative al telefono per effettuare questa predisposizione).

• Qualora il telef ono non fosse provvisto di questa funzione, prima di rispondere ad una chiamata in arrivo fermare il veicolo in un luogo appropriato rispettando le regole del codice della strada, quindi rispondere alla chiamata.

• Non effe ttuare chiamate durante la guida. Fermate il veicolo in un luogo sic uro rispettando il codice della strada, quindi effettuare una chiamata.

• Regolare il volume in modo che non possa arrecare disturbo o distrazio ne durante la guida e allo stesso tempo permetta di poter percepire nitidamente i rumori esterni.

• Non agi te sul telefono cellulare o su altri dispositivi collegati a N-Com durante la guida.

• Il rispetto del codice della strada e le manovre necessarie a condurre la motocicletta hanno priorità assoluta.

1.2. Accensione in ambienti sicuri

• Per l’ uso di N-Com rispettate tu tte le restrizioni e le indicazioni relative all’u so di telefoni cellulari.

• Non acc endere il telefo no cellular e o il sis tema N-Co m quando ne è vietat o l'uso o quando l'apparecchio può causare interferenze o situazioni di pericolo.

• Spegnere durante il rifornimento d i carburante. Non usare il sistema N-Com nelle stazioni di servizio. Non usare il d ispositiv o in pro ssimità di combustib ili o prodo tti chimici.

• Spegnere in prossimità di materiali esplosivi.

1.3. Interferenze

Tutti i telefoni ed i dispositivi con trasmissione di segnali senza fili sono soggetti a interferenze che possono influire sulle prestazioni dell'apparecchio ad e ssi collegato. Tali interferenze non sono da addebitarsi ad un difetto del sistema N-Com.

1.4. Utilizzo appropriato

Usare il dispositivo solo nella posizione normale, come descr itto nella documentaz ione relativa al prodotto. Non tentare d i smontare, manomettere, modificare alcuna par te del sistema N-Com.

Attenzione: Regolare il volume del sistema N-Com (dove previsto) e delle sorgenti

audio ad esso collegate prima di utilizzare il sistema su strada.

Attenzione: L’utilizzo di un volume troppo elevato potrebbe provocare danni all’udito. Attenzione: Regolare il volume del sistema N-Com (dove previsto) e delle sorgenti

audio ad esso collegate in modo da evitare la riproduzione audio ad alto volume. L'esposizione continua ad un volume audio elevato potrebbe danneggiare l'udito.

Attenzione: Una non corretta installazione del sistema nel casco potrebbe modificare

le caratteristiche aerodinamiche e di sicurezza del casco stesso creando condizion i pericolose. Installare il sistema N-Com secondo quanto descritto nella documentazione di prodotto. In caso di dubbio rivolgers i al proprio riven ditore NCom.

Attenzione: l’ascolto di altri apparecchi non deve influir e sulla guida del veicolo, che

ha priorità assoluta. Effettuare tu tte le manovre sugli apparecc hi elettronici e sul sistema N-Com a veicolo fermo, rispettando il Codice della Strada.

Attenzione: B4 permette la ricezione del segnale radio. Tutte le eventuali tasse

legate all’ascolto della radio sono a carico dell’utente.

1.5. Personale qualificato

Soltanto personale qualificato può eseguire interventi di ass istenza tecnica su questo prodotto. In caso di mal funzionamento rivolgetevi sempre al vostro rivenditore di fiducia. Il casco è un prodotto di sicurezza, la manomissione del c asco e/o del si stema elettronico al suo interno, oltre a far decadere la garanzia del prodotto, può essere pericolosa.

1.6. Accessori e batterie

• Usare esclusivamente tipi di batterie, caricabatteria e accessori approvati da Nolan per il proprio modello di dispositivo.

• L'uso di tipi diversi da quelli indicati potrebbe risultare pericoloso e fa decadere qualsiasi garanzia.

• Per la disponibilità degli accessori approvati, r iv olgersi al proprio rivenditore.

• Quando si scollega il cavo di alimentazione di un qualsiasi accessorio o il

caricabatteria, afferrare e tirare la spina e non il cavo.

• Non utilizzare le batterie per scopi diversi da quelli prescritti.

• Non utilizzare mai caricabatteria o batterie che risultino danneggiati.

• Non mettere in cortocircuito la batteria.

• Tenere la batteria a una temperatura compresa tra 0° / +45°C (in carica);

-20° / +60 °C (in uso).

• Pericolo di incendio o esplosione: non gettare le batterie nel fuoco e non esporle ad alte temperature!

• Non gettare le batterie nei rifiuti domestici. Smaltire le batterie rispettando le normative locali.

• Non indossare il casco durante la carica della batt eria.

• Il casco non deve mai essere lasciato a portata di mano di bambini non

sorvegliati, per evitare che l’eventuale accesso alle batterie di alimentazione possa provocare gravi danni alla loro salute.

1.7. Smaltimento

Fare riferimento al presente libretto di istr uzioni ed a quelli relativ i alle altre parti del sistema N-Com per rimuovere il sistema dal Casco. Una volta rimosso il sistema smaltire seguendo le seguenti indicazioni:

• La presenza di un contenitore mobile barrato segnala che all’interno dell’Unione Europea il prodotto è soggetto a raccolta speciale alla fine del ciclo di vita (direttiva europea 2002/96/EC).

• Non smaltire questi prodotti nei rifiuti urbani indifferenziati.

• Il corretto smaltimento delle apparecchiature obsolete contribuisce a prevenire

possibili conseguenze negativ e sulla salute umana e sull'ambiente.

• Per infor mazioni più dettagliate sullo sma ltimento delle apparecchiature ob solete, contattare il comune, il serv izio di smaltimento rifiuti o il negozio in cui è stato acquistato il prodotto.

3. INSTALLAZIONE NEL CASCO

Il sistema B4 può essere installato sui casc hi Nolan predisposti per il sistema N-Co m B4.

• Inserire la batteria ricaricabile all’interno del sistema facendo attenzione al verso di inserimento (fig XXX).

• Rimuovere il tappo “n-com” posto sulla guarnizione di bordo calotta in zona posteriore.

• Rimuovere la vite della guarnizione di bordo del casco utilizzando l’apposita chiave (fig. XXX).

• Rimuovere completamente la guarnizione di bordo come illustrato in fig XXX rimuovendo così anche l’imbottitura di conforto.

• Rimuov ere i guanciali di conforto.

• Inserire i l sistema n ell’apposita sed e sul re tro del casco , spinge ndolo fino in fon do

• Fissare l’an tenna del sistema facendo passare le sporgenze oltre i fissaggi posti sulla calotta.

• Far scattare l e clip di fissaggio Destra e Sinistra. Fig (XXX)

• Posizionare il microfono nell’apposita sede sul lato destro del casco , inserendo il

boom metallico nella scanalatura presente sulla calotta.

• Attenz ione: controllare che il lato del supporto microfono con la scritta “n-com” sia rivolto verso l’interno del casco.

• Collo care la tastiera sul lato sinistro del casco facendo sc attare gli appositi ganci del supporto sulla calotta;

• Posizio nare gli altoparlanti nelle sedi ricavate nei guanciali in polistirolo.

• Rimontare i guanciali di conforto e la guarnizione di bordo fissandola con

l’apposita vite.

4. FUNZIONI DI BASE

Tutte le funzioni del sistema N-Co m vengon o attiva te utiliz zando i 3 tasti, “▲”, “on” e “-”. Ogni comando impartito al sistema viene confermato dall’emissione di un particolare tono acustico, che può variare in base alla funzione richiesta. In questo modo è possibile utilizzare tutte le funzioni a casco calzato. Il tipo di comando impartito al sistema dipende da quanto tempo viene premuto il tasto.

4.1. Menù del sistema

Il sistema B4 è provvisto di un menù a 3 funzioni: BASE, RADIO, Moto-Moto (attivabile su richiesta).

All’accensione di B4, il menù si troverà sempre nella posizione “BASE”. A seconda della posizione del Menù è possibile gestire i diversi dispositivi audio e le diverse funzioni previste:

Le funzioni relative alla ge stione del Telefono cellulare Bluetooth e dell’interfono sono disponibili in qualsiasi posiz ione del Menù.

Nota: Il menù “Moto-Moto” deve essere attivato appositamente dal sistema (vedi

capitolo XX) o utilizzando il programma N-Com Wizard.

Per scorrere il menù delle funzionalità della scheda, premere (con il sistema acceso) il tasto “on” per 2 secondi.

Il passaggio da una funzione all’altra viene evidenziato da un tono acustico specifico.

4.2. N-Com Wizard

“N-Com Wizard” è il programma per PC che consente di gestire e configurare il sistema B4.

Il programma è scaricabile dal sito internet www.n-com.it Per utilizzarlo è necessario collegare il proprio casco munito di B4 al PC, tramite il cavo USB fornito in dotazione. Con N-Com Wizard è possibile personalizzare il proprio B4, ovvero:

• Impostare i livelli audio del sistema

• Memorizzare e gestire le stazioni radio preferite

• Aggiornare il firmware del dispositivo

• Attivare o disattivare il menù Moto-Moto

• Gestire i collegamenti con le altre Moto

Nel programma è presente una guida in linea che spiega il funzionamento del programma (dopo averlo installato sul proprio PC, premere F1 per visualizzare la guida).

5. AFFILIAZIONE DISPOSITIVI BLUETOOTH

Affinché il sistema B4 possa collegarsi ad un altro dispositivo Bluetooth è necessario che quest’ultimo sia stato prima affiliato

La procedura di affiliazione è uguale per ogni tipo di dispositivo Bluetooth: telefoni cellulari, lettori MP3 Bluetooth, navigatori satellitari, ecc.

1. Verificare che B4 sia spento;

2. Premere e mantenere premuto il tasto “on” (più di 4 secondi), sino al lampeggio rapido dei LED e al tono acuto emesso dall’altoparlan te, ch e indic a la “Modalità affiliazione”;

3. Attivare sul dispositivo Bluetooth la ricerca di dispositivi Bluetooth (consultare il manuale di istruzioni del proprio dispositivo per verificare la corretta procedura di affiliazione, che varia in base a modello e marca);

4. Dopo pochi secondi comparirà sul telefono il nome “N-Com B4 v.X.XX” seguito da dati identificativi per il costruttore;

5. Selezionare il dispositivo N-Com. Se viene richiesta una password, inserire il codice 0000 (quattro zeri);

6. B4 confermerà l’avvenuta affiliazione mediante un tono in cuffia e i LED smetteranno di lampeggiare;

5.1. Reset delle affiliazioni

E’ possibile rimuovere tutti i dispositivi affiliati dalla memoria del sistema. Questa operazione non è reversibile; dopo il “reset” sarà quindi necessario affiliare nuovamente il telefono (o altri dispositivi Bluetooth compatibili). Per cancellare tutti i dispositivi precedentemente affiliati procedere come segue:

• Premere e mante nere premuto il tasto “on” (più di 4 secondi), sino al la mpeggio rapido dei LED e al tono acuto emesso dall’altoparlante, che indica la “Modalità affiliazione”;

• Premere co ntemporaneamente si sente un tono acustico. Il sistema N-Com emetterà uno speciale tono acustico di conferma e si spegnerà.

All’arrivo di una chiamata sul telefono cellulare connesso via Bluetooth a B4, l’interfono Pilota-Passeggero v iene momen taneamente sospeso. Se si desidera, è però possibile condividere la telefonata con l’altro casco semplicemente attivando manualmente l’interfono durante la telefonata Attenzione: questa funziona lità è attiva solo se anche il passeggero è provvisto di

7. FUNZIONI CON IL NAVIGATORE SATELLITARE GPS

B4 è compatibile con i più diffusi navigatori satelli tari per moto. Collegando il sistema N-Com al GPS, tutte le indicazioni vengono trasmesse al casco. Ad ogni comunicazione del navigatore l’interfono via Bluetooth con il Passeggero viene interrotto e automaticamente ripristinato al termine della comunicazione.

Nota: Se il nav igatore è in grado di connettersi ad un telefono cellulare Bluetooth,

sarà possibile ricevere l’audio della te lefonata direttamente nel casco, tramite il GPS. In questo caso per rispondere alla telefonata agire direttamente sul navigatore.

Funzione Conferenza GPS

La funzione Conferenza consente di mantenere attivo l’interfono “P ilota-Passeggero” anche durante le indicazioni del Navigatore satellitare, evitando la sospensione dell’interfonia ad ogni messaggio del navigatore.

Attenzione: questa funzionalità è attiva solo se anche il passeg gero è provvisto d i u n

sistema B4, Bluetooth kit3 o un sistema superiore.

Al termine della comunicazione GPS, resta attivo l’interfono con il secondo casco e viene mantenuta in memoria l’impostazione “Conferenza” per le successive comunicazioni GPS.

8. RADIO FM STEREO

B4 è dotato Radio Stereo FM, con te cnologia RDS (Radio Data System), che co nsente di selezionare automaticamente il segnale più forte disponibile per la stazione FM ch e si desidera ascoltare, indipendentemente dal luogo nel quale si sta viaggiando.

E’ possibile scorrere la banda delle frequenze utilizzando la ricerca automatica, memorizzare fino a 6 stazioni radio preferite, cambiare stazione tra quelle in memoria.

9. LETTORE MUSICALE BLUETOOTH A2DP

È possibile ascoltare musica ad el evata qualità connettend o B4 ad un lettor e musicale provvisto del protocollo Bluetooth A2DP (Advanced Audio Distribution Profile). Il sistema B4 è inoltre provvisto del protocollo Bluetooth AVRCP (Audio Video Remote Control Profile) che permette l’interruzione e la ripresa della riproduzione musicale agendo direttamente dal casco (con i dispositivi provvisti di AVRCP).

audio A2DP.

10. DISP OSITIVI AUDIO VIA CAVO

La gamma di prodotti N-Com dispone di diversi cavi “Multimedia Wire” per il collegamento a dispositivi audio esterni: Lettori MP3, i-Pod, Navigatori satellitari, Radio PMR e GMRS, Sistema audio pre-installato sulle moto (MCS). Per conoscere tutti i cavi disponibil i vi sita w ww.n -co m. it cavo”.

estremità al dispositivo audio. U na fascetta colorata sul ca vo indica il connettore da collegare alla periferica audio.

Se attivata, la connessione via cavo viene mantenuta attiva anche all’interno dei menù successivi. E’ quindi possibile sentire la periferica collegata via cavo anche durante l’ascolto di musica via A2DP o via RADIO.

Il sistema B4 può utilizzare cavi della gamma N-Com sia di tipo Mono (Multimedia Wire o Mobile Wire) che di tipo Stereo (Multimedia Wire2). B4 è pre-impostato per ricevere cavi di tipo Stereo. Per utilizzare un cavo Mono è necessario effettuare una preselezione.

Per utilizzare un cavo Mono è necessario attivare questa funzione anche tramite PC utilizzando “N-Com Wizard”

11. INTERFONO PILOTA-PASSEGGERO

Per utilizzare B4 come interfono senza fili è necessario che entrambi i caschi siano provvisti di un Bluetooth kit N-Com.

1. Verificare che entrambi i Bluetoot h Kit siano spenti;

2. Portare entrambi i Bluetooth Kit in Modalità Affiliazione premendo il tasto “on” (più di 4 secondi), sino al lampeggio rapido dei led;

3. Su uno dei due caschi premere brevemente il tasto “on”;

4. Dopo qualche secondo i caschi si “riconoscono”, viene emesso un tono per segnalare la corretta affiliazione e viene attivata la comunicazione Interfono;

5. Spegnere e riaccendere entrambi i Bluetooth Kit per memorizzare i dati di affiliazione.

11.2. Funzionalità interfono

Dopo aver eseguito la corretta procedura di affiliazione, accendere i due caschi. La connessione interfono verrà attivata automaticamente (l’operazione richiede alcuni secondi. Attendere fino al tono acustico di conferma). Se non fosse possibile effettuare la connessione automatica, procedere con la connessione manuale.

12. INTER FONO MOTO-MOTO

Il sistema N-Com B4 permette la comunicazione moto-moto fino a una distanza di circa 500m* (in campo aperto, senza ostacoli).

*Nota: La portata e la qualità della comunicazione possono variare sensibilmente in

funzione della presenza di ostacoli, condizioni metereologiche, campi magnetici.

*Nota: Sistemi Bluetooth N-Com diver si da B4 non per mettono questo utilizzo se non

con portate sensibilmente più limitate.

Il sistema B4 consente di tenere in memoria fino a 4 siste mi B4 diversi e quindi di poter effettuare “chiamate” verso questi dispositivi.

Affinché due B4 possano comunicare fra di loro in modali tà Moto -Moto, d evono e ssere prima affiliati.

12.1. Affiliazione moto-moto

1. Verificare che entrambi i sistemi B4 siano spenti;

2. Portare entrambi i Kit B4 in Modalità Affiliazione premendo il tasto “on” (più di 4 secondi), sino al lampeggio rapido dei led;

3. Sul Casco 1 premere il comando relativo alla posizione memoria in cui si desidera memorizzare il Casco 2;

4. Dopo qualche secondo i caschi si “riconoscono”: viene emesso un tono di conferma nel Casco 2 che indica la posizione di memoria in cui viene memorizzato il Casco 1 per segnalare la corretta affiliazione e viene at tivata la comunicazione Interfono;

Nota: se tutte le pos izioni di memoria sono libere, il Casco 2 memor izzerà il casco 1 nella posizione A (vedi schema capitolo 12.1). In caso di posizion e occupata, verrà selezionata la casella successiva secondo l’ordine della tabella.

E’ possibile visualizzare le posizioni di memoria del proprio dispositivo (e verificare i nomi dei dispositivi affiliati) utilizzando il programma per PC “N-Com Wizard”.

E’ possibile rinominare i sistemi B4 affiliati come moto-moto per un più semplice riconoscimento.

12.2. Funzionamento della chiamata moto-moto

Per effettuare la chiamata ad un'altra moto, precedentemente affiliata, è necessario posizionarsi sul menu moto-moto e premere il comando relativo al casco con cui si vuole entrare in comunicazione. All’interno del proprio casco, si sentirà il tono corrispondente e partirà la chiamata verso il casco selezionato. Nota: nel caso in cui la posizione di memoria sia v uota, oppure il cas co chiamato non

raggiungibile, si sentirà un tono di errore nel proprio casco.

12.3. Ricezione della chiamata moto-moto

Nel casco che riceve la chiamata moto -moto si sentiranno 3 toni di chiamata, e tutte le fonti audio in esecuzione v erranno temporaneamente interrotte (inclus o eventuale interfono pilota-passeggero). Sarà possibile rispondere alla chiamata premendo brevemente un tasto qualsiasi quando si sente il segnale di suoneria.

Nel caso in cui si accetti la chiamata, si attiverà la comunicazione in modo automatico.

Nel caso in cui non si rispond a alla chiama ta, verrà r istabilita la s ituazione prec edente alla ricezione della chiamata.

Nota: in qualsiasi posizione del menu, sarà poi possibile interrompere la

comunicazione moto-moto premendo il testo “on” brevemente.

13. BATTERIA

Prima di utilizzare per la prima volta il dispositivo N-Com caricare completamente la batteria per almeno 10 ore. Per ottenere le migliori prestazioni dalla batteria è consigliabile, per le prime ricariche, effettuare cicli di ricarica completi. Successivamente è possibile ricaricare la bat teria anche per periodi più brevi. Quando possibile, è meglio effettuare il ciclo di ricarica completo.

Per ricaricare il sistema B4 collegare il cavo USB al caricabatt eria o ad una presa USB alimentata.

13.1. Segnale di batteria scarica

Il sistema, durante il suo funzionamento, segnala all’utente quando la carica della batteria ha un’autonomia di 1 ora circa. I tasti “▲” e “▼” cominciano a lampegg iare per segnalare lo stato di “RISERVA”, annunciato anche da 3 segnali acustici consecutivi ripetuti ad intervalli di 10 minuti. Quando la batteria si trova in “RISERVA” il sistema si spegne automaticamente se durante il funzionamento non si preme alcun tasto per 30 minuti. Lo spegnimento viene segnalato attraverso una serie di segnali acustici all’interno del casco. Questa funzione permette, qualora si dimenticasse il casco acceso, di avere sempre una piccola scorta di energia quando lo si utilizza nuovamente.

Con questo CERTIFICATO DI GARANZIA LIMITATA , Nolan® garantisce all’acquirente che il prodotto, all’atto dell’a cquisto, è esente da difetti di materiali e fabbricazione. La invitiamo a:

• Leggere le avvertenze per la sicurezza e il corretto uso.

• Prendere visione dei termini e delle condizioni della garanzia.

• Conservare la ricevuta di acquisto originale. È necessario esibirla in caso di

riparazioni in garanzia. In questi ca si il prodotto va fatto perven ire al rivenditore presso il quale si è effettuato l'acquisto.

15.1. Copertura della garanzia

Se un qualsiasi difetto coperto da questo certificato di garanzia lim itata viene rileva to entro 2 (due) anni dalla data d’acquisto riportata sullo scontrino fiscale, Nolan® provvederà, attraverso la propria rete distributiva e dopo verifica del difetto, a riparare o a sostituire il prodotto difettoso. Nolan® fornirà tutto il ma teri ale e i l lavo ro ragionevolmente necessario per porre rimedio al difetto segnalato, ad eccezione che il danno sia causato da una delle voci elencate nel successivo paragrafo “Esclusioni e Limitazioni della Copertura”.

15.2. Esclusioni e limitazioni della copertura

Questa garanzia copre solo i difetti di materiali e fabbricazione. Nolan® non può essere ritenuta responsabile per difetti del prodotto attribuibili in tutto o in parte a qualsiasi altra causa, incluso, ma non limitatamente a:

a) difetti o danni risultanti dall’utilizzo del Prodotto in cond izi oni d iver s e da quel l e

abituali

b) danni causati da uso improprio e non conforme al normale funzionamento

secondo quanto indicato nelle istruzioni per l'uso e la manutenzione del

prodotto fornite da Nolan® c) incuria e normale usura delle parti interne ed esterne; d) ogni danno derivante da un incidente; e) ogni cambiamento o modifica apportati al casco o al sistema N-com

dall’utente o da terzi; f) variazione di colore o danni causati dall’esposizione a prodotti chimici dannosi;

g) uso di accessori incompatibili non facenti parte della gamma di prodotti N-

Com. h) Inoltre, la garanzia non copre difetti del prodotto derivanti da eventi fortuiti,

modifiche o adattamenti, cause di forza maggiore o danni derivanti dal

contatto con liquidi i) le parti interne del casco non sono né possono essere impermeabili e ogni

esposizione impropria a pioggia, umidità, versamento di cibi o altri liquidi può

determinare danni ai dispositivi elettronici dell'N-COM, danni di cui la Nolan

non potrà essere ritenuta responsabile. j) sono escluse dalla presente garanzia le p arti di consumo c onsiderate sogget te

ad usura o logorio quali ad esempio la batteria ricaricabile ed i cavi di

combinazione prodotto/periferica, ne accetterà richieste di intervento in

situazioni specifiche e soggettive che si dovessero presentare nell’utilizzo

dinamico del casco, come, a titolo esemplificativo, problemi di comfort

durante la guida o fruscii e sibili aerodinamici.

Nolan® non potrà in alcun caso essere ritenuta responsa bile per danni accidentali o consequenziali (incluso, senza limitazione alcuna, lesioni a persona o persone) risultanti dal mancato adempimento degli obblighi derivanti da questa garanzia riguardante i prodotti Nolan®.

15.3. Validità di questa garanzia limitata

Questa garanzia è valida solo se all’atto de ll’acquisto l’ allegata scheda di registrazion e viene debitamente compilata in ogni sua parte e do tata di: Codice identificativo del prodotto Nome e timbro del rivenditore autorizzato; Data di acquisto del prodotto; Nome e indirizzo dell’acquirente.

Nolan® si riserva il diritto di non effettuare la riparazione in garanzia se queste informazioni risultassero cancellate o modificate dopo il primo acquisto del prodotto dal rivenditore.

15.4. Procedura per l’inoltro di eventuali reclami

Per inoltrare qualsiasi reclamo coperto da questa garanzia, l’acquirente d eve no tif icare direttamente al rivenditore presso cui il casco è stato acquistato il presunto difetto riscontrato, presentando contemporaneamente il prodotto oggetto del reclamo, copia dello lo scontrino fiscale e la Scheda di registrazione della garanzia, com pilata in ogni sua parte, come sopra specificato.

1. WARNINGS AND SAFETY

Read this User Manual carefully, as well as the User Manuals for other N-Com kits that you will be using with the N-Com B4. Read the simple rules listed below. Failure to comply with these rules may lead to dangerous situations.

Caution: The product cannot be used in official or non-official competitions,

motordromes, circuits, racing tracks and the like.

Caution: Installation of the N-Com B4 system results in a weight increase of

approximately 60g, which is added to the weight of the helmet and of the other accessories.

Warning: The electronic components of the N-Com system mounted inside the

helmet are not waterproof. Consequently, make sure the inside of the helmet, including the comfort padding, does not get wet in order to avoid damage to the system. If it does, remove the N-Co m system and the helmet comfort padding and let it air dry. Disconnect the battery connector and let it dry as well.

1.1. Road safety

Always obey all Traffic Regulations in force. While riding the motorcycle, your hands should always be engaged in actually riding the vehicle. Any operation to the N-Com system must be carried out with the vehicle stopped. Specifically:

• Set your cell phone on automatic answer (see the cell phone instructions to do this).

• If your cell phone is not equipped with this function, first stop your vehicle in a safe area, in compliance with Traffic Regulations and then answer the call.

• Do not make any calls while riding. Stop your vehicle in a safe place in compliance with Traffic Regulations, and then make the call.

• Adjust the volume so that it does not cause a disturbance or distraction whil e riding and at the same time allows you to distinctively hear background noises.

• Do not operate your cell phone or other devices connected to N-Com while riding your motorcycle.

• In all cases, obey the Traffic Regulations and remember that riding the motorcycle has absolute priority over any other maneuver.

1.2. Switching on the system in safe environments

• When using the N-Com system, comply with all limitations and instructions related to the use of cell phones.

• Do not turn on your cell phone or the N-Com system whenever their use is forbidden or when the devices can cause interference or dangerous situations.

• Turn off while refueling. Do not use the N-Com system in filling stations. Do not use the device near combustible materials o r chemical products.

• Turn off in proximity to explosive materials.

1.3. Interferences

All phones and devices with wireless signal transmission are subject to interferences that may affect the performance of the device connected to them. These interfere nc es are not ascribable to a defect of the N-Com system.

1.4. Appropriate use

Use the device only in the normal position, as described in the product documentation. Do not attempt to disasse mble , tamper w ith or mo dify any part o f the N-Com system.

Caution: Adjust the volume of the N-Com system (where provided) a nd of the audio

sources connected to it before you use the system on the road.

Caution: Adjusting the volume to very high levels may cause damage to your

hearing.

Warning: Listening to other equipment s hould not interfere with driving th e vehicle,

which must be the top priority at all times. Carry out all operations on the electronic equipment and on the N-Com system with the vehicle stopped, in compliance with Traffic Regulations.

Caution: B4 allows radio reception. Any radio licence fees are to the user’s charge.

1.5. Qualified personnel

• Only qualified personnel can carry out te chnical assistance on this product. In case of any malfunction, always turn to your local dealer.

• The helmet is a safety device. Tampering with it and/or with the electronic system inside the helmet, in addition to invalidating the product warranty, can also lead to dangerous situations.

1.6. Accessories and batteries

• Only use the type of batteries, battery chargers and accessories approved by Nolan for the specific model .

• The use of a battery type different from the recommended one may lead to dangerous situations and invalidate the warranty.

• Contact your local dealer to see about the availability of approved accessories.

• When disconnecting the power supply cable of any accessory or of the battery

charger, always grab and pull the plug not the cable.

• Do not use batteries for purposes other than the prescribed ones.

• Never use batteries or battery chargers that turn out to be damaged.

• Do not short-circuit the battery.

• Keep the battery at a temperature between 0° / +45°C (charging); -20° /

+60 °C (in use).

• Danger of fire or explosion: do not throw the batteries into a fire nor expose them to high temperatures!

• Do not throw out batteries togeth er with household refu se. The batteries s hould be disposed of in compliance with local regulations

• Do not wear the helmet while the battery is recharging.

1.7. Disposal

Refer to this user manual and to manuals related to other parts of the N -Com system in order to disassemble the system from the helmet. Once the system has been disassembled, dispose of it according to the following ins tr uct ion s:

3. INSTALLATION IN THE HELMET

The communication system N-Com B4 can be installed in Nolan’ helmets pre-set for the installation of N-Com B4.

• Insert the rechargeable battery on the B4 system, taking care of the correct positioning of the battery (fig XXX).

• Remove the N-Com cover from the helmet border gasket.

• Remove the screw from the helmet border gasket, using the key which is

supplied with this installation’ kit.

• Completely remove the helmet border basket, as shown in fig. XX, and remove also the internal comfort padding.

• Remove the comfort cheekpads from the helmet.

• Insert the B4 system on the rear part of the helmet, by pushing the B4 Eletronic

Box in the proper shape on the EPS shell (fig. XX).

• Fix the Antenna of the system on the helmet shell, by placing the end of the electronic circuit over the plastic parts of the helme t shell.

• Place in position the left and right cables, by using the proper plastic fixing clip. Fig (XXX).

• Position the microphone in the proper shape on the right side of the helmet ‘ shell by forcing the metallic boo m in his housing.

Note: the flat part of the clamp must be facing upward when the microphone is positioned as shown in figure XX.

• Place the adesive keypad on the left side of the outer shell.

• Place the two loudspeakers in their round housing on the EPS cheeckpads.

• Replace the comfort padding on the helmet, and fix the helmet border ba sket by

using the screw and the proper key.

4. BASIC FUNCTIONS

All N-Com system functions are available through the operation of three pushbuttons: “▲ ”, “on” and “- ”. Every time the system is given a command, a special acoustic signal can be heard, which varies depending on the function being requested. This way, all the functions can be used while wearing the helmet. The type of command given to the system depe nds on how long the pushbutton is pressed.

4.1. System menu

When B4 is turned on, the menu is always in the “BASE” mode. Depending on the menu position, you can manage the various audio devices and the availa ble functions:

LEDs turn on and you hear a beep in the headset.

LEDs turn off and you hear a beep in the headset. Briefly press “▲” to increase the volume. A double tone signals the highest volume lev el. Briefly press “▼” to decrease the volume. A double tone signals the lowest volume level.

The system N-Com B4 is provided with a menu with 3 functions: Base, Radio and Bike-to-Bike (enabling as an option).

To scroll the card functions menu, press “ on” for 2 seconds (with system turned on).

A special acoustic beep signals the change from one func tion to another.

5. N-COM WIZARD

“N-Com Wizard” is the PC application that can be used to manage and configure the B4 system.

The program can be downloaded from the Internet site www.n-com.it, in the “Download” section. In order to use it, a helmet equipped with B4 must be connected to the PC, using the USB cable supplied with the system.

N-Com Wizard allows you to customize yo ur B4, specifically:

• Setting the system audio levels

• Pre-set and manage your favourite radio stations

• Update the device firmware

• Activate the “Bike-to-Bike” menu;

• Manage the connection with other bikes.

The programme includes an on-line guide that exp lains ho w it works (after in sta lling i t on your PC, press F1 to display this guide).

6. PAIRING UP BLUETOOTH DEVICES

In order for the B4 system to be connected to another Bluetooth device, the latter needs to be first paired up

The pairing up procedure is the same for all Bluetooth d evices: mobile phones, MP3 Bluetooth players, satellite navigators, etc.

1. Make sure the B4 is turned off;

2. Press “on” and keep it pressed (for more than 4 seconds), until the LEDs start to flash quickly and you hear a sharp beep in the headset, indicating the “Pair-up mode”;

3. On the Bluetooth device, tur n on the search for Bluetooth devices (refer to the instructions manual of yo ur device for the proper pairing up procedure, as it varies depending on the brand and model of the device);

4. After a few seconds, the mobile phone will display the name “N-Com Bt3 v.X.XX”, followed by the manufacturer’s identification data;

5. Select the N-Com device. If a password is requested, enter 0000 (four zeros);

6. B4 will confirm the pa iring up by means of a tone in the headset, and the LEDs will stop flashing;

7. Turn off and on both the mobile phone and the B4 to store the pairing up data.

Note: The affiliation is stored in the he lmet and in the cell phone and it is not lost

when the two devices are turned off. As a result it needs to be carried out only once.

Note: If a Bluetooth device (mobile phone or GPS) eq uipped with music player with

Bluetooth A2DP player has already been paired up, the pairing up DOES NOT have to be repeated as the A2DP protocol has already been stored in the B4.

Once the Bluetooth device has been paired up, connection is automatic when the system is turned on.

If the connection is not established in a utomatic after some seconds, it is possible to connect the device by pressing the “on” button for 4 seconds.

6.1. Affiliation reset function

You can remove all affiliated devices from the system memory. T his operation is not reversible; right after resetting, you will have to repeat the affiliation procedure for the cell phone (or for other compatible Bluetooth devices).

To erase all devices previously aff iliated, proceed as follows:

• Press “on” and keep it pressed (for more than 4 seconds), until the LE Ds start to

flash quickly and you hear a sharp beep in the headset, indicating the “Pair-up mode”;

• Press “▲” and “▼” at the same time for 4 seconds, and release them when you

hear a beep. The N-Com will emit a spec ial acoustic signal to co nfirm an d will then turn itself off.

This function can also be turned on through PC using the “N-Com Wizard” programme.

7. MOBILE PHONE FUNCTIONS

B4 allows a conference call with Rider and Pillion Passenger. When a call comes in on a mobile phone connected via Bluetooth to B4, the RiderPillion Passenger intercom is temporar ily turned off. However, if you wish to share the phone call with the other helmet, simp ly turn on the intercom manually during the phone call (by briefly pressing “on”).

8. GPS SATELLITE NAVIGATOR FUNCTIONS

B4 is compatible with the most common satellite navigators for motorcycles. By connecting the N-Com system to the GP S, all instru ctions wi ll be transf erred to the helmet. Every time the navigator commun icates instructions, the in tercom via Bluetooth with the Pillion Passenger is cut off and automatically restored at the end of the communication.

Note: If the navigator is pre-set for connection to a B luetooth mobile pho ne, you will

be able to receive the phone call audio directly in the helmet through the GPS. In this case, you can answer the call directly from the navigator.

GPS Conference Call Function

The Conference function allows you to keep the “Rider-Pillion Passenger” intercom open even while the satellite navigator is giving instructions, thus preventing the intercom mode to be turned off every time the navigator gives instructions.

At the end of the GPS communication, the intercom with the second helmet stays open and the "Conference" setting is stored for future GPS communications.

9. STEREO FM RADIO

B4 is equipped with Stereo FM radio with RDS (Radio Data System) technology, which automatically selects the strongest signa l available for the FM radio you want to listen to, regardless of your location.

You can scroll through the band of frequencies using the automatic search function, pre-set up to 6 favourite radio stations and change stations among the pre-set ones.

10. BLUETOOTH A2DP MUSIC PLAYER

You can listen to high quality music by connecting B4 to a device equipped with Bluetooth A2DP (Advanced Audio Distribution Profile) protocol.

The B4 system is also equipped with B luetooth AVRCP (Audio Video Remote Control Profile) protocol, which allows you to stop and resume music reproduction directly from the helmet (with devices equipped with AVRCP).

11. AUDIO DEVICES WITH CABLE CONNECTION

The range of N-Com products offers various “Multimedia Wire” accessories for connection to external audio devices: MP3 players, i-Pods, Satelli te navigators, GMRS and PMR radio and audio systems pre-fitted on motorcycles (MCS). Once it is turned on, cable connection stays active even in the subsequent menus. Consequently, you can hear the device connected via cable even while listening to music via A2DP or via RADIO.

The B4 can be connected with cables of the N-Com range of both the Mono type (Multimedia Wire or Mobile Wire) and Stereo type (Multimedia Wire2). B4 is pre-set to receive Stereo cables. In order to use a Mono cable, a pre-selection needs to be carried out.

This function can also be turned on through PC using the “N-Com Wizard” programme.

12. RIDER-PASSENGER INTERCOM

In order to use B4 in wireless intercom mode, both helmets have to be equipped with a n-Com Bluetooth system.

In order for two Bluetooth Kits to communicate with one another, they have to be paired up first.

12.1. Intercom affiliation

1. Make sure both Bluetooth Kits are turned off;

2. Set both Bluetooth Kits in Pairing up mode by pressing “on” (for more than 4 seconds), until the LEDS start to flash quickly;

3. On one of the two helmets, briefly press “on”;

4. After a few seconds, the helmets “recogniz e” each a nother, a beep i s emitted to signal the pair up was successful and intercom communication is activated;

5. Turn off both Bluetooth Kits and turn them back on to store the pair up data.

12.2. Intercom functionalities

After carrying out the proper pair up procedure, turn on the two hel mets. Intercom connection will be established automaticall y (this will take a few seconds. Wait until you hear the acoustic signal confirming the operation). If automatic connection is not possible, proceed with the manual connection.

13. BIKE-TO-BIKE INTERCOM

N-Com B4 allows bike-to-bike communication up to a distance of approximately 500 m (in open terrain, with no obstacles).

Note: The communication range and quality may vary considerably depending on the

presence of obstacles, weather cond itions, magnetic fields.

Note: Bluetooth kit system versions prior to N-Com B4 do not allow this function

except at significantly shorter distances.

The N-Com B4 system is provided with a memory with 4 different positions for other N-Com B4 devices; i twill be possible to “call” these devices in any moment.

Two devices N-Com B4 can comunicate between them in Bike-to-Bike mode, if they have been previously paired together.

13.1. Bike-to-bike pairing

1. Make sure both Bluetooth Kits are turned off;

2. Set both Bluetooth Kits in Pairing up mode by pressing “on” (for more than 4 seconds), until the LEDS start to flash quickly;

3. On the HELMET 1, push the control that identifies the position on the memory where the connection will be store d (see table below):

hear on the helmet, and to complete the pairing you will have to press another control.

4. After some seconds, the helmets will connect: on the HELMET 2 an audio tone will signal the position on the memory where the HELMET 1 will be stored, and the Intercom connection will be immediately activate.

Note: if all the position on the memory are free, the HELMET2 will store the

HELMET1 in the position “A” (see the scheme). In case the position “A” is busy, the system will automatically select the next memory cell, following the order on the scheme above.

It is possibly to check the position on the memory of the device (and check the names of the paired devices) using the N-Com Wizard program.

It is possible to rename your own N-Com B4 device to make the check of the devices connected easier.

13.2. Making a bike-to-bike call

It is possible to call another hel met (on another bike) which was previously paired to your N-Com B4 device: enter on the menu bike-to-bike of the system, and press t he control that identifies the helmet you would like to enter in communication with.

On the helmet you will hear a confirm audio tone, and the “ca ll” to the other helmet will be established.

Note: in case the position on the memory you selected is empty (or the helmet you

are trying to call is out of tha range), you will hear an error tone in your helmet.

13.3. Receiving a bike-to-bike call

In the helmet that receives the “bike-to-bike call”, 3 ringtones will be hear, and all the external audio sources will be temporarly stopped (including the eventual intercom pilot-passenger). It will be possible to answer the call si m ply press ing one of the thre e buttons while you hear the incoming call signal.

In case the incoming call for the Bike-to-Bike is accepted, the communication between the two helmets will be automatically established.

Note: in each position of the menu, it is possible to disconnect the Intercom

connection, pressing briefly the “on” button.

14. BATTERY

Before using the N-Com device for the first time, recharge the battery completely for at least 10 hours. To obtain best performances from the battery, it is recommended to completely recharge the battery th e first few times. Afterwards, you can recharge the battery for shorter periods. Whenever possible, it is best to recharg e the battery completely.

To recharge the N-Com B4 system, connecto the USB cable to t he battery charger or to a USB plug.

14.1. Battery discharged signal

When turned on, the system signals when the battery is r unning down b y switch ing to the “Reserve” mode. When the battery charging power falls below 1 hour of operation, th e b u ttons “▲” and “-” start to flash in order to indicate that the system is in “Reserve” mode. Three consecutive beeps also signal the reserve mode. When the battery operates in “Reserve”, the syst em automatically turns itself off in case no button is pressed for 30 minutes. The shutting off is signaled by a series of beeps in the helmet. This function makes it possible to always have a small reserve of energy to use it again in case you forget to turn off your helmet.

16. LIMITED WARRANTY

With this LIMITED WARRANTY CERTIFIC ATE, Nolan® warrants this Product to b e free from defects in material and workmanship at the time of its original purchase by the buyer. We invite you to:

- Read the cautions pertaining to safety and proper use.

- Read the warranty terms and conditions.

- Keep the originals sales receipt. This must be shown in case of repairs covered by warranty. In these cases, the product has to be taken back to the de aler where it wa s purchased.

16.1. Warranty co verag e

If any defect covered by this limited warranty certificate is discovered within 2 (two) years from the purchase date shown on the tax receipt, Nolan® shall repair or replace the defective product through its distribution network after having verified the defect. Nolan® shall supply all the material and labor that is reasonably required to remedy the defect, except in those cases where the damage is caused by one of the items listed in the following paragraph “Exclusions and limitations of the Coverage”.

16.2. Exclusions and limitations of the coverage

This warranty only covers defects in mat erials and manufacturing. Nolan® shall not be considered responsible for product defects that can be attributed, either partially or in full, to any other cause, includ ing but not limited to:

• Defects or damages resulting from using the Product in conditions that differ from the usual ones.

• Damages caused by improper use not conforming with normal operation in accordance with the product operating and maintenance instructions provided by Nolan®.

• Negligence and normal wear of internal and external parts.

• Any damage caused by an accident;

• Any change or modification made to the helmet o r to the N-co m system by th e user

or by third parties.

• Color changes or damages caused by exposure to harmful chemical products.

• The use of incompatible accessories that are not part of the N-Com produ ct range.

• Moreover, the warranty does not cover product defects caused by fortuitous events, modifications or adjustments, causes of force majeur or damages deriving from the product coming in contact with liquids.

• The internal helmet components are not and cannot be waterproof. Consequently, any improper exposure to rain, humidity, food spillages or other liquids can result i n damages to the N-Com electronic devices, damages for which Nolan shall not be responsible.

• This warranty does not include those parts subject to wear and tear such as, for example, the rechargeable battery and the cables used for connection between the various N-Com systems or between the N-Com systems and other devices.

• Since Nolan® does not supply the system on whic h the ce ll pho nes work, it shall no t be responsible for the operation, availability, coverage, services or range pertaining to the aforementioned system.

• Whenever the product is used in conjunction with accessories or equipment not supplied by Nolan®, Nolan® shall not guarantee proper operation of the product/device combination, nor will it accept requests for repairs or replacements under warranty in case the product is used in such a way.

Nolan® shall not be responsible in c ase the product presents limited cap abilities due to the operating mode of cell phones or of other accessories or equipment not supplied by Nolan®. Tampering with the internal electronic card or with other parts of the N-Com system shall invalidate the warranty. Moreover, the defects covered by this warranty do not include all those specific and subjective situations that may come up during the active use of t he helmet such as, for example, comfort problems while riding or aerodynamic noises.

Nolan® shall not be held responsible in any case for incidental or consequential damages (including, without any limitation whatsoever, damages to one or more persons) resulting from non-fulfil lment of the o bligatio ns arising f rom this war ranty as it pertains to Nolan® products.

16.3. Validity of this limited warranty

This warranty is valid only if the enclosed warra nty form is duly and completely fille d out with the following information:

• Product identification code

• Name and sta mp of the authorized dealer.

• Product purchase date.

• Buyer’s name and address.

Nolan® reserves itself the right to not carry out repairs under warranty if the aforementioned information is removed or modified after the original purchase of the product from the dealer.

16.4. Procedure for the forwarding of claims

To forward a claim covered by this warranty, the buyer has to directly notify the dealer where the helmet was purchased with regard s to the defect, presenting at th e same time the defective product, a copy of the sales receipt and the Warranty registration form, duly filled out as instructed above.

PRIOR TO CONTACTING THE DEALER, WE RECOMMEND THAT YOU READ CAR EFULLY THE USER MANUAL ENCLOSED WITH THE PRODUCT. AFTER 2 (TWO) YEARS FROM THE DA TE OF PURCHASE, THIS LI MITED WARRANTY IS VOID FOR ALL EFFECTS AND PURPOSES.

Repairs or maintenance under warranty do not extend the period of the warranty itself. Therefore, in case the product or one of its co mponents is replaced, this does not initiate a new warranty period, as the purchase date o f the original product shall be taken into account for warranty purposes. Only for repairs or replacement of electronic components, in the event that Nola n® proceeds to repairing or replacing the product, said product shall enjoy a warranty period equal to the residual portion of the original warranty or ninety (90) days from the repair date (the longer period being considered). The repair or replacement can be carried out even with r egenerated components with equivalent functions. The replaced parts or components shall become property of Nolan®.

THIS WARRANTY VOIDS AND REPLACES ANY OTHER WRITTEN OR VERBAL WARRANTIES PROVIDED FOR BY THE LAW THAT CAN BE DEROGATED AT THE PARTIES’ WILL; SPECIFICALLY, NOLAN® DOES NOT GRANT SPECI FIC WARRANTS OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. IN NO CASE SHALL

NOLAN BE LIABLE FOR INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAG ES INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOST PROFITS OR COMMERCIAL DAMAGES, TO THE FULL EXTENT THOSE DAMAGES CAN BE DISCLAIMED BY THE LAW. NOLAN® RESERVES ITSELF THE RIGHT TO MODIFY, AT ANY TIME AND WITHOUT ADVANCE NOTICE, THE PRODUCT CHARACTERISTICS, FUNCTIONS, COMPATIBILITY AND SOFTWARE.

Some Countries do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidenta l or consequential damages, or the limitation of the duration of implied warranties; as a result of t his, the previous limitations and exclusions may not be applicable to you. This warranty does not have any effect on the customer’s legal rights under the national jurisdiction in force or on the consumer’s rights towards the dealer sanctioned by the purchase/sale contract .

This warranty is valid throughout the European territory, and it represents the only express warranty provided by Nolan® in relation to the sale of its own product s. This warranty does not affect the rights to which the buyer is entitled and which are expressly provided for by Directive 1999/44/CE.
