IMPORTANT
Installer and Users please note:
These instructions should be read carefully and left
with the user of the product for future reference.
Installation
Fix the Micro-4 with the hanging bracket provided, or stand on a flat surface by rotating the hanging bracket around the product, and using it as a foot, allowing it to be tilted to any angle. If suspended, then a safety chain must also be employed to conform to Health & Safety Regulations.
The Micro-4 must be installed by a competent electrician in accordance with the current IEE wiring regulations.
Connect the Micro-4 to the mains supply using the built- in mains lead.
Brown = Live (phase)
Blue = Neutral.
Green/yellow = Earth.
The Micro-4 must be earthed.
If connecting via a mains plug, fit a 3 Amp fuse in the plug. If installing permanently, connect to a fuse or circuit breaker of no more than 5 Amp rating. The Micro-4 should not be connected to the output of a dimmer.
This symbol means that the Micro-4 should be mounted more than 0.3 metres from any object that it is illuminating.

The Micro-4 has a built-in microphone; a jack socket is also provided on the rear panel for the connection of a low- impedance microphone. This is useful for voice operation where the Micro-4 is some distance from the user.
DO NOT CONNECT THE LOUDSPEAKER OUTPUT FROM A POWER AMPLIFIER TO THE MICROPHONE JACK SOCKET.
Always leave the Micro-4 for 5 minutes for the lamps to cool before moving. (Lamps can fail if moved suddenly when illuminated) When transporting the Micro-4, move the handle in front of the lamps so that they are protected from damage.
The Micro-4 must only be operated indoors. Do not
expose to moisture.
Do not stand the Micro-4 on top of a loudspeaker
cabinet. The vibrations may reduce lamp life.
Changing lamps
Disconnect from the mains supply. Unscrew the faulty lamp, and replace with a new lamp type R80 60 Watt "silver spot", with an E27 (Edison Screw) base. The colours supplied with the Micro-4 are (from left to right) Blue, Amber, Green, Red. It is not recommended that amber be replaced by yellow, as it is noticeably brighter. Do not use lamps rated at more than 60W.
Warning: Do not operate the Micro-4 with a lamp removed, as this makes it possible to touch the live contacts of the lamp holder.
Changing the Fuse.
Occasionally, when a lamp fails, the fuse may also fail. If this happens, disconnect the power and remove the lid. The fuse is located on the circuit board, between the lamp holders for the red and green lamps. Replace the fuse by a

new fuse, type 1.6A Quick-blow, high breaking capacity, 5×20mm. This fuse will have a ceramic case, and be labelled F1.6A. Do not replace by any other type of fuse. If the new fuse blows, consult a dealer.
Cleaning.
The Micro-4 should be cleaned regularly by wiping with a damp cloth. This should only be done when the lamps have cooled down, and with the power disconnected.

D. All flash to sound
All four lamps flash to the beat of
the music.
E. Single chase and flash to sound
asA, but flashing
to the beat of the music
F. Pairs chase and flash to sound
asB, but flashing to
the beat of the music
G. Triples chase and flash to sound
asC, but flashing
to the beat of the music
Run all chase patterns

patterns E, F and G.
In the "Flash to Sound" modes, when there is no sound, all four lamps will switch off. It is not possible to switch off sound activation by rotation the sound control fully anticlockwise in "Flash to Sound" modes.

satisfactorily to the bass beat of the music. The Micro-4 has a built-in microphone so it needs no electrical connection to the sound source, but it may also be used with a hand-held microphone.
If sound activation is not required, rotate the sound
control fully anticlockwise.
In "Flash to sound" modes, selecting sound chase, will
make the lamps chase AND flash to sound.
Fixed speed chase
To make the Micro-4 chase at a fixed speed, turn the Sound control fully anticlockwise, then turn the Chase control clockwise until the lamps are chasing at the required speed.
