BasicFineTuning

Thisinformationwillberelevantafteryourfirsttestflight.Itisprovidedatthisstageto
giveyouabasicunderstandingofthetrimleverfunctions.Therearefourtrimlevers
usedtofinetunethefourfunctionsofthemaincontrolsticks.Toadjusttheseposition
yourselfabout1.5to2.0metres(6-7feet)behindthehelicopter.Bringthehelicopterto
ahoverpositionabout1.0metre(4feet)fromthegroundandobservethemovementof
thehelicopterasfollows:

1.Ifthetailbeginstorotatetotheleft,slidetheruddertrimlevertotheleft.

2.Ifthehelicopterbeginstomoveforward,slidetheelevatortrimleverback.

3.Ifthehelicopterbeginstomoveleft,slidetheailerontrimlevertotheright.

4.Ifthehelicopterbeginstomoveascend,slidethethrottletrimback.
Ifmovementsareintheoppositedirectionstakethereverseactionson

thetrimlevers.

TurningontheHelicopter

ATTENTION:Beforeconnectingthebatterytothehelicopter,youmustconfirmthe
followingsettings.MakesuretheSpeed/NightEagleisturnedoffduringthisprocess.

1.Thecrystalsonthetransmitterandreceivermustmatcheachother.

2.Thethrottlestickispulledfullybackintheoffposition,otherwiseseriousdamage
totheSpeed/NightEagleandpersonalinjurymayoccur.

3.Thetransmitterantennaisscrewedinandextended,batteriesarefullycharged
andthetransmitterhasbeenturnedon.

4.Onthetransmitterpullthethrottlestickbacktotheendstoppositionandthe
throttletrimlevertothecentrepositionthenturnthetransmitteron.

5.Placethehelicopteronaflatsurface.Plugthebatteryintothehelicopterandthe
lightinsidethehelicoptershouldturnon.Ifitdoesnotturnon,checkthatthetransmitter
iscorrectlyturnedon.

6.Makesurealltrimsarecentred.

7.MakesuretheSwashplateisparalleltotheground.Ifnot,seetheflight
adjustmentssection.Youwillusethetrimleverstofinetunethehelicopteronceyou
havecompletedatestflight.

Bothbladesshouldtracethesamepathandappeartooverlap.Ifnot,itisreferredtoas
'DoubleBlades'.Thiswillnotonlycausevibration,affectingstability,butmayalso
reducepneumaticefficiency.IfDoubleBladesarisesintheupperblade,adjustthe
controllinkonthestabilizerset.Adjustthehigherbladetoalowerangle.IfDouble

Turnonthetransmitterandpluginthehelicopterbattery.Positionyourself1.5
to2metersbehindthehelicopter.Pushupthethrottle/aileronstickand
increasethebladesrotatingspeed,untilthehelicoptertakesoff.Observethe
helicoptercarefully.Ifthetailturnsleftorthehelicoptertendstomoveforward,
backward,leftor,right,pleasetrimitusingthetrimadjustersonthe
transmitter.Ifthetailbeginstorotatetotheleft,slidetheruddertrimleverto
theleft.

Ifthehelicopterbeginstomoveforward,slidetheelevatortrimleverback.

Ifthehelicopterbeginstomoveleft,slidetheailerontrimlevertotheright.
Otherwise,slidethetrimlevertotheoppositedirection.

thebladerotation.Keepyourfingers,eyesandotherobjectsclearoftherotatingparts.
Slowlypushtherightcontrolstickforwardtoincreaserotorspeed.

TheSpeed/NightEaglemaynottakeoffvertically,itmaygoforwardorbackwards,
leftorright.Continuetopushtherightcontrolstickforwardandbringthehelicoptertoa
hoveringheightataboutwaistheight.Whilehoveringusetrimleverstofinetunethe
Speed/NightEaglewhilehovering.Youmayalsofindthehelicoptersnosemayswingto

forwardslowlyadjustthetrimleveruntiltheystoprotating.

Makesuretheswashplateishorizontaltotheground.IftheSwashplateisnotparallel
fromfronttoback,adjustthetransmittertriuntilitisparalleltotheground.Ifthe
Swashplateifnothorizontalfromsidetosideadjusttherimuntilitisleveltotheground.
TesttheflightcontrolstomakesuretheyareoperatingproperlyandtheSwashplate
movesinadirectionyouwanttofly.

Pushtheleftcontrolstickslightlyforwardtostartthebladerotation.Keepyour

fingers,eyesandotherobjectsclearoftherotatingparts.

Slowlypushtheleftcontrolstickforwardtoincreaserotorspeed.TheSpeed/Night
Eaglemaynottakeoffvertically,itmaygoforwardorbackwards,leftorright.Continue
topushtheleftcontrolstickforwardandbringthehelicoptertoahoveringheightat
aboutwaistheight.WhilehoveringusetrimleverstofinetunetheSpeed/NightEagle
whilehovering.Youmayalsofindthehelicoptersnosemayswingtotheleftorrightside
whenyouincreasethrottle.Inthiscaseyouneedtoadjustthetrim.

Nowyouhavefinishedallthesettingsandadjustments.Pullthethrottlestickbackto
thestopposition,turnofftheSpeed/NightEaglebydisconnectingthebattery,then
turnoffthetransmitterpower.Neverturnoffthetransmitterbeforedisconnectingthe
batteryasthehelicoptermaybecomeuncontrollable.

FlyingEnvironments

Whatyouneednowisaspaciousroomwithoutanyobstacles.Makesurethattheairis
calm.Draftscausedbyopenwindows/doors,airconditionersorfansshouldbeavoided.
Werecommendaflat,smoothflooronwhichtheSpeed/NightEaglecanslide,soft
carpetisnotagoodchoiceforflying,becauseitcouldhooktheskidofthehelicopter
andcausedamage.

OperationProcedures

1.PlacetheSpeed/NightEagleinthemiddleoftheroom,youshouldalwayssand
approximately2m(6ft)fromthehelicopterandbehindthetail.Makesurethehelicopter
andtransmitterhavebeensetupandadjustedinaccordancewiththishandbook.
SwitchtheTransmitteron,connectthebattery,andcheckoncemorethattheservosare
operatingcorrectlybeforeproceeding.

2.Nowyouarereadytostartlearningtofly.Thecontroldiagramsonthenextfew
pageswillhelpyoutrimandflythehelicopter.

3.InitiallyyoudonotneedtoworryabouthowtooperateyourSpeed/NightEagle
skilfully.Throughpractice,youwillbecomemoreconfidentoperatingthecontrolsand
adjustingthethrottle.Whenyourfingersrespondtothemovementsofthehelicopter
spontaneously,youarereadyformoreadvancedflying.Pleasenotethedirection
describedhereareifyouarefacingthetailofthehelicopter.

4.PushthethrottleupgraduallyuntiltheSpeed/NightEaglestartstobecomelight
andthencarefullymovethethrottlestickfurtheruntilitliftsoff.Observingthe
helicopter’sresponse,correctanymovementifnecessary.Don’tflytoohigh,keepits
heightabovetheflooratabout1m(3ft).Ifthereisanyinstability,shaking,orifthe
helicopterisoutofcontrol,pleaselandatonce.Theonlythinghathelpsatthisstageis
topracticeandthenpracticesomemore.

5.TrytocontroltheSpeed/NightEagleusingthesmallestpossiblecorrective
commands.Thesooneryounoticeamovementandrespondtoit,thesmallerthe
correctivemeasuresarerequired,andthesmallertheflyingdeviation.Bepatientasit
doestaketimetolearnalltherequiredskillstocontrolthehelicopter.Alsuccessful
